Click to report rating    10/31/18   5     5     5     5   We had a vet emergency. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I don't think we over paid at all for what we got. We will go there again, if the need arises. RID: 66969
Click to report rating    6/7/16   1     3     1     1   Stay away. Better staff and better value elsewhere. Techs with poor attitude. Check reviews for a better vet at better price. There are other after hour clinics around the area. Disappointing to say the least. RID: 60790
Click to report rating    4/28/15   1     1     1     1   Blown away by this place. 13y.o Cat was acting off, believe he ate some toxic flowers. Took him in to the back, saying he needs to get hooked up to an IV and hospitalized immediately for 3 days ($2300 bill total) or he'll die within a couple hours and just handed me a bill to sign for without consulting me and discussing our preference. Said we were very realistic about him being an older cat and if there wasn't a cheaper option we would do the humane thing and put him down to not suffer. "Dr" Beacock (who is one of the creepiest people i've ever met) then gave us a prescription ($280) to try and said "but he'll probably die overnight" followed by a creepy closed mouth laugh. SHE LAUGHED AS SHE SAID OUR CAT WAS GONNA DIE OVERNIGHT! (....He didn't)Stay away from this scam pop up and go to an actual clinic. We've taken our cat to a regular vet now to run some tests (without a $100 fee to walk in the office) and will proceed as necessary from advice we trust. RID: 56823
Click to report rating    4/10/15   5     5     4     4   They were really busy when we showed up but still took really good care of our cat. Later we even got to see the medical area where she was staying. I cant thank them enough for their kindness during a really emotional day. RID: 56590
Click to report rating    11/1/14   5     5     5     4   We took Milli came in after collapsing on a walk. We waited a bit as emergency care is unpredictable. They gave her immediate care, and I was aware everything they do will cost. The vet reviewed the X-rays. Milli as a mid life dog so it was up to us ...there has to be a reasonable decision made by the owner. When an animal is taken into an ER vets and they know nothing of the owners or animal...they do what they can. I found them excellent and caring, and explained the scenario if Milli was to live on? I knew my limits and our Milli's ....we decided to put our little girl down. It was tough...burgess was great. RID: 54380
Click to report rating    9/7/14   5     5     5     5   Our small dog had to come in for 2 visits in the past month. Both times the staff were great especially since we saw different people. They didn't make us wait and helped answer our questions. We may have a long road ahead of us so we're keeping there number on speed dial. Anytime I call they never act like I'm a bother. They seem to really know what they are doing and care about the pets. RID: 53434
7/7/14   1     1     1     1   Do NOT go to this vet. We brought our not even 1 year old cat here because he was having trouble peeing. They said he needed a catheter and priced out everything for 1500-2000 dollars!! My dad refused to pay, and somehow the priced dropped to 500. Even after the surgery for 3 days, he still wasn't peeing properly and even after calling out of concern they told us to "follow up with our regular vet" and were extremely unhelpful and quite frankly very insensitive. We ended up brining him to another vet, where their immediate diagnosis was kidney failure where we had to put him down. This is an extremely sketchy and unreliable vet. Such a scam. It makes me sick to my stomach. RID: 52442
Click to report rating    5/2/14   2     2     2     1   Took our dog here with aspiration pneumonia related to kennel cough. The "isolation" room was also isolated from staff. Arrived to find he had pulled himself out if the harness and pulled his IV out with the entire floor covered in blood. Called ahead (as told to do) before coming to visit him. They said now was a good time...I arrived 10 minutes later and had to wait 45 minutes as they ate McDonalds for lunch. Unbelievable!! They erased the first chest X ray (kind of difficult to compare follow up Xrays without the original) and then tried to charge me $100 on the bill for the Xray they lost! He was in ICU for IV antibiotics which they gave to him by mouth. I could have done that at home and saved a $3200 bill. Next time, unless the dog is going to die.....I will travel the few Xtra minutes to Winston Churhill referral center....also expensive, but fabulous care. RID: 51360
Click to report rating    4/14/14   2     3     2     1   Brought our dog here a couple weeks ago. Long waits for the vet, very expensive pricing and not very understanding staff. We had to put him down there, which they handled well, but overal not very impressed with this clinic. RID: 51036
Click to report rating    10/21/13   1     3     1     1   We took our dog their thinking that she might have a blocked digestive track. We called first and they told us to come right away but our dog wasn't seen for another 2 hours. She was emitted and we had to pay a full 2,000$ On the spot for having her emitted and for the upcoming X-rays and ultrasound. We waited 4 hours to hear back from them, finally calling them to ask for the results which they promised to have and call us back in the next half and hour. We waited another hour and a half and then called back again... Still no results. When they did finally get the results, they said they was a chance there is something in her stomach but that they couldn't tell for sure. They suggested keeping our dog there overnight and doing exploratory surgery in the morning to see if they could find anything. We took her out immediately. She slept the whole night, and we took her to our family vet the next morning. He gave us anti-diarrhea pills, said she was fine. RID: 47754
Click to report rating    9/6/13   5     4     5     4   We came home to a very sick dog and a very messy kitchen after our little troublemaker had decided to do some counter-surfing. We called a couple of places since we didn't know what to do and right from the first phonecall we knew these people knew what they were doing. When we got there they were waiting for us and took Chevy right away. He had to stay the night on iv to make his stomach feel better. Even though we called to check on him they never acted as if we were a bother. The assistant was nice and the couple of vets that we spoke with were nice also and didn't make us feel silly with all our questions. We're so glad a place like this exists. RID: 46778
3/9/13   1     1     1     1   Take our dog to the back without giving us any information. After 10 minutes pass we ask to be placed in a room with our dog who is now obviously shaken up. The vet comes in.He attacked us threatening us, went off on a tirade about how parvo will kill our dog despite us protesting twice that we focus on a more immediate pressing matter but he continued to try and bully us.We understand the job of the vet is to discuss vaccs, but the tone, attitude, and manner in which he attacked us was disgusting and uncalled for. After another 30 sec of this txt I informed him that we do not want his service and we left the business. He seemed to have a much easier time lambasting our breeder tirading about how she is not A VETRINARIAN, BUT THEY THINK THEY ARE. am not here to debate vaccs but our breeder and I discussed a holistic approach to our dog. I understand this is a touchy subject these days with many opinions but this is not the place or time for such discussions. Enough said. RID: 40959
Click to report rating    3/8/13   1     2     1     1   My dog had just been hit by a car and was found out to be internally bleeding (by another vet). They were too busy determining the price to really do anything to help. We ended up getting so fed up with the wait we had to take our young dog to another clinic (who by the way treated her immediately). There was very little that could have been done, but the agony and wasted time are something I will never forget. I also felt the staff were not compassionate towards saving her life and spent their energy trying to find ways to nickle and dime. RID: 40925
12/31/12   1     1     1     1   I brought my hymalayan cat here and the vet said it was going to cost me 1500 plus dollars to help my sick cat and if I didnt givea deposit of 1000 then they would do nothing. When I told them I could only make small payments they said exactly" oh well I guess your cat will have to die and can u please leave" I was shocked and apauled. My cat died that day. :( RID: 39327
11/14/12   5     5     5     4   Our boy Largo passed away here over 3 years ago no. However, they did everything they could to try to save him. Our family Vet. & his head tech. went with us to Burgess, with our boy tht horrible night. There was nothing else they could have done for him. My advise, big TIME, is get pet insurance if you don't already have it. Our bill was up to $4500, and we ended up paying around $900 with the 20% deductable. It didn't ease our heart ache of the loss of our Largo, but for $26- a month at that time, it sure made us willing to keep doing everything possible for our cat. Thank You to all the people at Burgess, and to our family Vet. Dr. Longridge, and the staff at Clappison's Veterinary Services. You're all Number 1 in our pets lives. RID: 38485
Click to report rating    2/18/12   5     5     5     5   I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. I had to put my 14 year old lab down and they were so compassionate and let us stay with him till he passed, no extra charge. They then saved the life of my new puppy when he came down with a pneumonia that my regular vet could not treat properly. Love them and forever grateful. RID: 32315
