Awful. Awful. Awful. While the front of house staff and Vet Techs seem nice, the Veterinarians Dr. Rosnick and Co are very cold. I took my dog in when she was in heat and was made to feel just awful about my dog bleeding on the floor. The doctor(Rosnick) seemed offended and disgusted. Fast forward to today - I called to make an appointment as my dog is quite sick and I'm very concerned, with the stipulation that my partner left the city with my wallet in the car and so could only pay them on Saturday - this after being a client of theirs since our dog was a puppy - not the most insane request, and certainly one would think that people in the business of compassion would be a bit more understanding. But no. Instead I was told 'We can't do that.' - over and over. No reason, no explanation, no accommodation after we have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars with them.

I have been taking my cat there for the past 4 years. We moved to another neighbourhood over a year ago (30 min. by transit). We continued going to Parkdale Animal Hospital (PAH) but it proved to be very time consuming in terms of travelling time. We decided to try another vet that is in our neighbourhood. In hindsight, I have to say that the receptionist are very nice especially Elaine. The younger ones are hot and cold. Some days they are uber friendly others not so much. We all have bad days so I can empathize. Dr. Rosnik is also hot and cold. We could never predict if he'll talk to us or give us the stink eye. He has at times been rude and condescending but again other times he's gone out of his way to call his and ask us how our pet is doing. Someone had told me that Rosnik had a tendency (back in the day) of being belligerent to his customers - actually yelling at them. I didn't believe them but after my last encounter with him I'm starting to believe it.

The staff that work at the clinic are very nice and helpful and Dr Rosnick is a capable doctor, but he needs to improve his bedside manner. He is constantly trying to push the dog food he sells, as well as the amazing dog trainer he insists would help to train our misbehaving (four month old puppy!). He administered our dogs required shots, so we were at the clinic a total of three visits; and each visit resulted in a hard sell from the moment we were in the examination room, to the point where we were not going back. To add insult on top of injury, their prices are at the higher end of the spectrum. At no point in our time there did he ever take into consideration our financial situation, instead assuming that money is no object because we own a pet, thereby accepting whatever fees need to be paid regardless of the amount. We're not made of money, and neither are all pet owners, so a line of communication needs to be ongoing as to the potential costs pet owners would be facing.

Finding a good vet is as tricky as finding a good doctor. In addition to knowledge and credentials, personal qualities are especially important - compassion, patience, guidance, understanding. We absolutely love these people. Dr. Toprak has been incredible - always professional - and with empathy and sincerity. Everyone else is equally lovely. Staff are all great advisors and very friendly. Their kindness extends to all clients and even to neighbourhood visitors who just want to chat. We were reluctant to give up the great care we found with Dr. Cympian at Blue Cross Vet, but after a few visits to our new neighbourhood clinic, any reservations were allayed. Both clinics worked with the patients (and owners) in mind and openly requested/transferred information - which was also amazing. As for pricing, I assume that if you have the means, you pay standard veterinary rates so the clinic can help other pet owners who maybe can't pay the going rate…you can tell these people care.

I'm very happy with how thorough Dr. Rosnick is with my two cats - I lived in Parkdale for 4 years and was his client for that time. My two elderly cats did very well under his care, and he was very compassionate. I would say that the clinic is more expensive than most, but the care they give their animal clients is excellent, so I am prepared to accept the cost. The staff are very nice and helpful.

My name is Bunny and I is a very adorable according to my human mommy gray three year old cat with short legs ! Even tho I gets poked and Prodded on my visits sometimes by Dr. Gary R and Dr Ibru T they is so gentle with me and talks to me when they puts me through the examinations, Elaine and the others who are on the front desk greets me when I arrives. After my taxi ride and me in a carrier I sweats a bit but all the staff and doctors puts me at ease. When I gets home I gets to Email my mommy's brother in Ottawa and I tells him what happened to me.I don't likes the pokes and prods but I trusts every one at the hospital.

My cat and dog both lived happily and beyond their projected average life span (cat lived to 20 yrs, dog to 15) under the care of Dr Roznick and the staff at Parkdale. I base my recommendation on their medical knowledge, and add to that their genuine compassion and obvious affection for my animals.

The facilities and some operating equipment are very old (seen during a tour). The staff are quite ditzy and even though they have been there for awhile, seem not to know how to work the computer or answer simple questions. The vet (Dr. R) is VERY nice and compassionate, seems to really love animals, but he is always pushing the food the clinic carries and tries to make me feel like I'm a bad pet owner for not buying it, even though I buy premium grade, minimally processed, grain-free, pet food. Watch your bills closely, they seem to charge really high rates. For example, when I purchased a flea med for my dog they gave me the entire summer's worth of doses and didn't even ask me if that's what I wanted or give me a quote for the cost (hundreds of dollars!). I don't think I'd recommend this clinic.

The staff are consistent - most have been there for YEARS, including the receptionists who all seem to be up to date on my puppy's needs. We have been going there since day '1'. My beloved pooch is always treated as though he is their favourite.
