We have always received excellent service from the staff at Baker over the 20 years they have been caring for our dogs. Extremely empathetic, caring and helpful ??

Had a scheduled operation that was cancelled day of arrival. The specialist required for the operation was not even contacted for the operation. As a result the operation could not proceed as sceduled. Very nervous for my pets health now. Also the staff seemed doubtful the clinic held the facilities to perform the operation. Surgery should not have been scheduled without confirming with the specialist first, specialist should have been contacted and confirmed (very amateur to make that mistake) and a recommendation for a suitable alternate clinic made if needed. Very upset and disappointed.

I can't say enough about Dr. Dave and the staff at Baker. We have an interesting Miniature Schnauzer to say the least. Dr. Dave is a saint as far as I am concerned. He is knowledgeable, kind, caring, compassionate, funny and man is he patient, and let me tell you this case requires lots of patients. Every time we visit the clinic, we are greeted with warm and loving people in a nice clean environment. No matter how big or small the issue, Dr. Dave works with us to take care of it. He is the best... and our little "princess" loves him... she is never afraid of nervous when she is there. In Fact she practically fell asleep on the table last time :) I know people complain about vet bills, but the way I see it... is you get what you pay for... and I want the best care for my baby girl... Baker and in the care of Dr. Dave is where that happens, 100 % of the time. We feel so fortunate to have Dr. Dave and the Baker Family taking care of our little ball of furry fun!!!

The STAFF is amazing and they really care about the animals. Dr. Sutherland is in the business for the right reasons... HE CARES and he is a TERRIFIC vet to all of our animals. I would recommend Baker Animal Clinic in a heartbeat.

We have been coming to Baker Animal Clinic for 15+ years. They REALLY CARE and are understanding. The whole staff have gone out of their way for us. We couldn.t ask for a better vet clinic. Dr Sutherland is professional and careing. We lost our cat(Miss Ginger) last year and they were were very compassionate and caring. Our new rescue cat (Miss Windsor)was welcomed with overwhelming enthusiasm. Everyone from the reception to the staff caring for the animals in the back to the vet's are knowledgeable and friendly.Once again, we couldn't ask for a better Veternary Clinic.Thank you for everything you do for our pets and for the people that love them. The front line staff are very nice. The vet left a really bad taste in my mouth. I took my rescue dog in for a consult with the vet that is a behavoir specialist. The dog had been through a very rough first 4 years of life and I needed help with his shaking and growling. His response in the first 5 minutes was put the dog down, he cant be helped. This was 5 years ago and i would never return because of that. We found a behavoiral specialist and 5 years later he is the most friendly, trusting dog i could have ever asked for. Maybe they have changed but because of that I would never recommend them.

I would recommend this animal clinic to everyone. The doctors and staff are so friendly and our animals are always happy to see them. The staff always follow up after appointments and the doctors treat our pets as if they are there own. They take their time to make sure you understand what they are saying. Recently we had to put my dog Molson (13 yrs) and my cat baby girl down which was just so heartbreaking but Dr. Birss was so caring we couldn't have asked for a better doctor. Our animals are well cared for and we couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you to all there.

Staff is Amzing and caring. The Doctors are wonderful and caring. Taking their time to explain all options and information for me. Making sure i understand. I have dealt with alot of clinics in Durham/ Northumberland and Baker's is by far the VERY BEST VET.The Satff made a big deal over my Furbabys and the Doctor was kind gentle and informative.

I absolutely LOVE this clinic. Yes, it is a little pricey at times but I would never go anywhere else. We have had 2 dogs and now 2 cats go there. They care...point blank. It is not just for the money. We have had one cat and one dog need emergency care and Dr. Sutherland made arrangements both times to get them in there in less than 24hrs. We have had both of our dogs put down there and Dr. Sutherland is so compassionate like they are is own. We could never ask for better care. They are awesome!!!

Love this clinic. They are a bit pricier than some vets, but it's worth it. Dr. Birss has been the best. She gets right down on the floor to play with my dog as if she's her own. Very nice & very thorough. Haven't met the other vets, other than Langford. She seemed clueless and made me feel stupid by talking down to me as if I was stupid. Condescending is the word. They care more about the animals than your wallet. Of course you have to pay but it's not their first concern. And if you're a continued client they usually work with you instead of against you when it comes to $. They don't push a "vet" diet, nor do they push tests or anything you're uncomfortable with. And if they do its usually to save you money in the long run. Been going there for 1 year after a bad experience at a different vet, and I'm very pleased! Great clinic, great staff, decent prices.

Like many pet owners, my dog MUST have THE BEST care available. We have been clients at Baker for 25+ years. Dr. Dave Sutherland caring approachable. He takes time to thoroughly examine, explain issues so I understand them (so important), and offer alternatives and recommendations. The office is pristine, we receive a follow-up call the day after treatment.
After diagnosing our dog with cancer, we were referred to one of the top cancer doctors in Canada. Dr. Sutherland's strong partnerships helped us to see the specialist within 24 hours (time is critical). He continues to monitor progress, and we are more than a year in remission.
Dr. Sutherland and staff have seen us through highs and lows of dog ownership ("puppy" to "passing"), and have treated us with dignity and respect at every stage.
I am honoured to endorse Baker Animal Clinic, Dr. Dave Sutherland and his outstanding staff, and would be pleased to speak personally with anyone considering their services.

Baker Animal Clinic in Whitby is ABSOLUTELY the BEST Clinic I have had the pleasure of taking my many pets to.
They are caring, thorough, and by far the most knowledgeable group of professionals around. Many thanks to Dr. Birss and Dr. Sutherland for saving my little Jersey :)
If it wasn’t for the caring and knowledgeable staff at Baker, Jersey could be gone by now, and I’d never know any better. I’m a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and I believe that Baker Animal Clinic can make miracles happen.
My many thanks, my admiration and my heart is with them always!!! They may consider this to be their profession, but I feel as though they are angels sent to all of us to look over, care for and protect our furry family members!!

We switched to this clinic and couldn't be happier. The staff are all genuinely friendly and treat your pet like their own. We have seen Dr.'s Sutherland and Sullivan so far and both have been able to properly diagnose our dog and seem to know their stuff. Something our old vet clinic couldn't do after trying for over a year. They follow up with you and are concerned for the health of your pet, and it shows! Prices are reasonable for the service they provide. Highly recommended! Thank you Baker.

The clinic is very nice to look at and the reception staff is very caring. However, when I brought my dog in to be put down, after weeks of suffering and a diagnosis of cancer from a surgical specialist at VEC, I was asked by the vet if he was feeling better(??) and if I had considered surgery. I wouldn't be there for euthanasia if I hadn't already explored all my options. I then had to spend 5 minutes discussing remains when this had already been done with the receptionist when I called in the appointment. After it was over, I actually heard the words "we're not trying to rush you, but..." I will not go there again.

The best facility for your pet. I can't say enough about the care and service I have received over the past 13 years. They are compassionate and truly awesome with animals. I would recommend this animal clinic to anyone. You won't get better care anywhere else. The get a 10+++++ from me!!!

I love the Baker Road Animal Clinic. The clinic is very clean, the staff are very friendly, and when I come for my appointment they take my in right away. I bring both my cats to this vet office, and one of them sees Dr. Sullivan who is just wonderful. She is caring and intelligent and has offered great solutions to any problems I have had. The other cat sees Dr. Langford, who I found to be pleasant, friendly and caring and she does a great job inspecting my pet. I have had exceptional care from both vets and I would highly recommend this clinic. They also do complimentary nail clipping which is also a bonus! All of their vet tech's have been wonderful and their prices are reasonable.

Excellent Veterinary care! The veterinarians and staff are knowledgeable and compassionate. It was the incompetency of a DIFFERENT clinic which necessitated the euthanasia of a much loved golden retriever, one year ago today. Baker Animal Clinic took my very sick boy, after a night at the emergency vet clinic, having never seen him before, and helped me care for him during his last days. When he went into respiratory failure, Dr. Birss, having only known us less than 2 weeks, stayed at the clinic, even though it was her day off, to help him over to Rainbow Bridge. I am grateful for her compassion during a very difficult time. The staff were also very compassionate, and allowed me as much time as I needed with my boy. I was allowed to leave and settled my account several weeks later when his ashes were retuned.

Staff not attentive. Saw 2 different vets, Birss was great. Langford was awful. Recently had to euthanize my cat there- the WORST experience of my pet ownership. Langford and the staff were clued out, like they had never dealt with this kind of experience before. I had an appointment but they took their time checking me in. Rehashed my pet's medical file with me even though I had made the very difficult decision to let him go because he was suffering. Then rushed me out the door only to stand in the waiting room so I could pay my bill (which was more than they had qutoed in a previous appointment) crying and upset the entire time. The one day you need your vet to come shining through is the day you have to let your beloved companion go - this vetrinarian office failed miserably. Don't waste your time or money.

Lost files on my pet, didn't fax in insurance information and then had no record of it despite me having their signature on the forms, always wants to take more blood (of course at a cost) Obviously in it for the cash. I refuse to go back.I started there due to the fact my cat's breeder recommended it. I now go to Oakville (45 minute drive) where they actually treat you and your pet like you are more than dollar signs.

I have used this clinic in the past upon my breeder's recommendation and was very happy with it. I was able to get an appt after hours which was great. I also didn't have to pay through the nose for the timing!

Awesome clinic... all vets are wonderful - Dr. Sutherland is fantastic. He really cares, and treats both my pups like they are his own...very knowledgeable and does not cost a mortgage payment for care!

All three vets at this clinic are wonderful. They truly care about the animals and aren't just there to take all your money. I have only wonderful things to say about them and their staff. They also help out a few area rescues which I think is wonderful. VERY CARING PEOPLE!!

Don't go there. We got two cats fixed there and they traumatized both of them. We also took our dog there and my dog growled at the vet even though he had a muzzle on and the vet swore at my dog.
