The staff is great and friendly. But it is a clinic so I would not take a seriously ill pet here. It is very affordable for vaccines and check ups. Initially I was thrilled with prices and 7 days a week appointments well into the evening. but this year it got very hard to get timely appointments. Early in the summer I was asked to wait over a month for a simple vaccine appointment. The following week I stumbled on Vetco and got her shots there without an appointment and even less expensive then Alex Lewyt. October is here and there are a few more boosters my dog needs. I emailed as I have the last couple of years and my email was ignored. I emailed again a few days later asking can I make an appointment (which they advertise you can do at their website and I have done before) and finally got a snippy answer back to call. I don't know where the friendly, accommodating techy staff went but they made some changes and guess what? Only two weeks until VETCO is in operation at my local pet s

Horrible experience. they have ridiculously rigid policies, which not everyone knows (even their own staff). And so when we tried to get a spay operation for our puppy, we had to deal with 15 day waits just to schedule a blood draw. They told us they could schedule the operation when they got the blood results. When we were told that we could get the blood draw elsewhere (though having to pay through the nose), we did it. Then they said that they could only do it if they did an exam. Despite our dog being given an exam by an expensive vet, they said only their doctors exam mattered. They didn't mention that when we paid for the blood draw elsewhere. And so we would have to wait to schedule another appointment, which totally blew out our time frame. Totally inconsiderate. Totally incompetent. I could deal with the 20 minute hold times. And they are cheap. But they care more about their policies than their clients or the animals. Profoundly dissatisfied with their service

This a clinic type situation with clinic pricing. Its a great resource for anyone who doesnt have the money some of the fancy office crooks charge. So, anyone expecting a spa type of setting is kidding themselves. On average I found their prices are half of what other vets on the North Shore charge, for both the visit and the shots. My dog had a well visit and I had no complaints. I had to wait a little bit but I didn't mind, it was Saturday and I was just grateful to able to be seen outside of working hours. They are also open evenings which is super convenient for working owners. Nurses were friendly and after her shots and a full exam, the Veterinarian complimented my new rescue dog on her health, weight and good nature.

I wish there was a zero rating because that is what this place deserves! The staff had zero compassion for my dog and my family. We went in with our 12 year old golden who was unable to move her hind legs. She was not able to stand at all. They had to go through unnecessary xrays and blood work so they could prove she had "no quality of life". Myself and my two adult daughters were crying and comforting our dog and all the staff was doing was talking about how all we wanted was to put the dog down. I have never been in a place that is suppose to care for animals have such poor employees. The worst one was the manager Jackie - after calling a few days after to get a copy of my pets records she proceeded to tell me to go ahead and file a complaint and then hung up on me! Please don't take your beloved pet there. Especially if you are like we are and they are truly considered family.

The worst experience ever here with my dog that had to go under the knife for a foreign body removal!! my dog died in their hand and they showed no emotion or concern. Dr.verdino operated on my pet with Dr. Collie and they basically never told me he was in critical condition. They were buying time until it was to late for me to do anything. I feel so bad that I brought him here and it's killing me now. If your dog needs operation stay far away from this place!! They are overcrowded and have no emotions towards your pet. 7/2015 I wish I saw these reviews before I brought my baby here ;(

Fine with animal care/treatment, but incredibly poor with keeping their files and medical records. I have had multiple issues with "no visit on record" or "no record of you being here on that date" when I have paperwork, receipts, and credit card statements from paying my bill from a visit. They need to work on their record keeping. When needing to speak to a manager, there is never one available and I am always told to "call back tomorrow." Issues take days, sometimes weeks, to get resolved.

I was having a hard time financially so I took my cat here - he got sicker here and died. I am sure he was neglected here and not given the proper care - they are too overwhelmed to operate properly - the vet did not know what was going on with him. I took him to another vet after I realized what was going on - he was there 4 days - but it was not late - my poor baby died. I thought they would be on top of their game because they care for so many pets - but it is a mad house and I am so heartbroken over taking my beloved pet here.

These guys are well worth the wait. Let's face it, they operate at a fraction of the cost of local vets. The phone system is a pain, and it kills me to be put on hold. But it's certainly worth it for the good care they provide at one third the cost.

I want you to know before I start this that I love what North Shore does. I had blood work done on my pet back on June 17? I am still waiting for the results. I was told on June 25th that the Vet was waiting for the results of the third Thyroid test. From the other tests results, my dog has an under active thyroid & needs medication. I paid my 300 bill. The Medical area seems to have a problem with their phone system. If you leave a message no one calls you back. If you hold you get a different area & they switch you back where you go on hold again. If you go there they ask if you have an appointment. When I originally spoke with the Vet, he was nice. Maybe the medical area needs new leadership? They should fire everyone in charge & hire competent people. Maybe the current leaders salaries are so high they cannot afford to have someone answer the phones. They are supposed to be helping animals not allowing them to get sicker. Who’s being cruel to animals now?

They are not helpful at all. They wanted me to get my dog spayed before 6 months and then gave me a hard time about trying to make an appointment. then when i finally got my appointment changed they made it for the wrong date, and couldn't be more rude about it. Like somehow it was my fault they made a mistake. On top of the fact that they do 25 spay nuterings a day, they let you take the dog home 1 hout after surgery...I'm sorry thats just not safe for the dog. better of going to a real vet.
