Dr Maya is great, HOWEVER, she is slowly transfering over to a full holistic service leaving a new mentor to take on all of her existing clients. This new mentor is named Dr Gill and has poor customer service and a low knowledge of toy sized dogs. She told me that my toy Australian Shepard can only be neutered at 12 months and questioned my breeder’s contracted agreement with me of having him neutered at 6months. She also took the receptionists word over mine when I told her it wasn’t mentioned to me to bring my dogs breeder contract in with his first vaccine details. I witnessed no kindness and just surface level kindness for my dog. She was very curt and once the third vaccines are done we will be switching vets for neutering and future care.

We love this vet!!! Even when they are booked they always fit us in with our old girl. So very appreciative of their caring and loving way. Dr Maya picked the right profession. We travel from north Vancouver to see her. Thank you Dr Maya for who you are and your love for all the animals. Izzy is so lucky to have you caring for her.

BEWARE!!See google review for whole story but they almost killed my bulldog. Dr maya took no responsibility thank god for the emergency vets. some of her techs are good but healing paws is money first and the most important. I will tell everyone i know about the experiance.

I have been an advocating customer for our two dogs ever since we adopted them in 2015 and 2016 respectively. We have trusted their "holistic way of approaching" marketing until March 2018. We requested a quote for Rabies Antibody Titer testings for taking our two dogs with us to oversea. They quote us a regular service (4 to 6 wk turnaround result) they quote was about $400 each per dog and the express service (2-3 wk turn around result) at $900 per dog although the price increase on the expedited lab test service is only USD $60. I inquired several times why the expedited service doubles the regular service although I see only USD 60 up charge from the actual testing facility Healing paws sent the blood sample away. They said that is how they structured the pricing and they won't change the pricing for us although we have been a loyal customer to them. I felt very much disappointed by their demeanor and their rationale for the pricing structure. I ended up getting two quotes from on

Very unfortunate. This place is absolutely Money Hungry. Understandably, it's a business and you need income to support a business. However, they do not even hide the fact that they are greedy. I had to go to the back in the bathroom and I noticed graphs on a board with L.Ron Hubbards name on the bottom of them. You can do the math. I am afraid that I will never be able to get rid of them calling me at home to bring in my animal for a yearly check up. My dog is so stressed out when he goes in there and I have repeatedly told them that It causes more stress to him to bring him in then not. I will never hesitate to bring in my dog if even the slightest hint is given that he may be sick. I was over charged several times and had to repeatedly ask for refunds. Please, stay clear of this clinic.

Our little guy gets incredibly excited & actually gets impatient with us because we're not moving fast enough for him on Dr.Maja days. And yes, we've been to a couple other high ranked clinics in the area. (So we're not uneducated, nor are we biased w/o the facts). I'm not sure how the few ppl can rate these ppl so low, because we've been thru extreme lows with our little guy and finding out that he has a liver condition. (Basically, it doesn't recover itself on it's own so we had to go thru countless blood tests, ultrasounds, and other numerous tests). All these procedures started before we saw Dr.Maja. Yes, they're costly & sometimes you don't get the results you want. We thankfully had insurance on him from the time we rescued him & we knew we had to do everything we could for him, he couldn't tell us what was wrong-that's why they test. We finally found answers WHEN WE SWITCHED to HEALING PAWS. Best Move we made!

Me, my boxer and my 2 cats followed Dr. Ina to Healing Paws. She treats both my animals and myself like family. She loves my animals and hugs them and talks with them and we LOVE her for that. She's also bang-on in diagnosis and treatment and will take the time to explain things (ie: medication) to me, over and over and over. It can get very overwhelming when you have a sick animal, but she is forever patient as I scribble everything down and repeat it numerous times to make sure I have it right, lol. They have beautiful, welcoming and clean facilities, lots of parking and SUPER friendly and knowledgeable staff. I LOVE the office staff! They are warm and welcoming and friendly and just so nice! They follow up with patients and send friendly reminders and check in with us to see how things are going. I LOVE Healing Paws and feel so lucky to have found Dr. Ina!

I took my dog here because of the ratings but based on my experience I cant believe any of them are true. For over a year and a half Maja "treated" my dog for her health concerns but it was just a guessing game. I dont know whats wrong lets do another blood test, 10 in all. The symptoms were obvious but she never put in the extra effort to find the cause, expecting the tests to do the work for her. Tests cant give you all the answers. It would take days and numerous calls before she would report back on these tests. You cant imagine the stress this caused when your pets life is at stake. How can you put someone through that? Over $2000 in vet bills and it didnt help my dog one bit. I lost my best friend because of her ambivalent attitude. She didnt even have the decency to send her condolences. If your pet has serious health concerns go somewhere else, for your pets sake. She let my little girl down, worst of all so did I by bringing her here. I'll never forgive myself for that.

I really like this place. They treat my dogs with care and I feel comfortable leaving my dogs with them. I really appreciate that they do not rush me when I am there and I also like that they take the time to allow my pet to become accustomed to the place. I didn't even realize we had holistic vet options and this place has fair pricing for their services. I personally like all of the veterinarians working there and would recommend this place to everyone. I think it's a five star vet and judging by the other reviews, I am not the only one.

Mixed feelings about this clinic. Every time I go I wait at least 45 minutes past my appointment time, so best to make an appointment first thing in the morning. Even when you get into an exam room, you end up waiting another 15 - 20 minutes to see the vet. I have also found that the vets do not review the charts before seeing your animal. So, best to see the same vet every time as they know the history. I have taken my dog back for the same reason three times and each time you have to explain from the beginning because he's seeing a different vet. Personally I think Dr. Alberto is the most thorough and not pushy for tests. He has the best bedside manner, and my dog does NOT like men, but Dr. Alberto won his heart. I have a hard time getting test results back from them until I complained, and now they call more promptly. It's not the BEST choice of clinic, but we don't have a great selection of holistic vets in Vancouver. I don't find them expensive at all for a holistic vet.

This vet office is the best!!! We have followed Dr Maya from North Van and happy that we have.We have 2 german shepherds and the care we have received from the whole clinic is great. I was a little nervous when Dr Maya was on vacation and i needed to come in. They told me that Dr Alberto was who i would be seeing that day. Well am i happy i did, he was great with my dog and suggested the less expensive way first to see if that would work and it did. She is feeling great now and i am so happy that i was able to meet Dr Alberto. Both vets are first class and i am so happy to have them looking after our dogs. Thank you

I very disappointed with this clinic. Were told the blood & urine test results'd be ready on Mon. Called; told that they were not ready, call back Tues. I rec'd a msg suggesting that everything okay&to call back & discuss. Wed the receptionist told me the test results weren't good, she has crystalluria. Left my work number. Worried, I started looking up her condition to do whatever necessary.
I've tried 8 times, no reply. On 4th, attempt reception asked me if our dog had started exhibiting symptoms. Spoke c/ a vet, he said there was nothing wrong & suggested he was not skilled enough to see what the other vet was seeing assuring me that the other vet would call me. I've req'd the results so that we may take her to a different clinic–one that cares, so she can get the care & attention she needs. I was promised I would have those results emailed to me today & again, they failed. My dog is suffering as the result of your complete lack of decency to even return a phone call.

I was very impressed with Dr Alberto, he and all the staff I encountered were very professional and great with my timid dog. I felt that he had a great bedside manner and that he followed best practice standards in the care of my dog before, during and after her dental cleaning. He even called as soon as she had recovered from anesthetic which I was really impressed by since so many vets are "too busy" to even answer basic questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Alberto and Healing paws!

Dr. Maja and all of the staff at Healing Paws are absolutely amazing. It feels more like you are entering a home than a clinic. Well, a very organized and sanitized home! My puggat is highly reactive but responds so well to all of the staff and Dr. Maja which is a big deal since she is usually not to friendly when first meeting/greeting someone. She adores Dr. Maja even though a physical check-up is not much fun so that's saying a lot. I always have lots of questions and Dr. Maja always takes the time to answer them all with great thought. I never feel rushed. Ocassionally we have had to wait a bit for our appointment time but the staff is so friendly and the waiting area so pleasant that it is never really an issue. Plus I always know we are waiting because some poor animal had a health emergency. Dr. Maja also always provides me with more than one option when it comes to treatment, etc. which is much appreciated. I really can't say enough wonderful things about Healing Paws.

We have been with Dr. Maja since Sunwood. She is so sweet and caring, really listens to my concerns and provides support for our pets raw diets. We live on the island now and continue to visit Healing Paws for our annual exams.

Absolutely the best vet office experience I've ever had, the staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and always remember your furr friend. The vets are very gentle with my nervous dog and do their best to make her comfortable and calm, they don't ever try to push any unecessary medication or product and its very obvious that their only concern if your pets well being. Love this office!

My dog has had a rough few months with dental problems, being attacked, and then having a severe digestive infection. Dr.Maya and her staff have been phenomenal! My dog absolutely loves dr. Maya and the staff. He used to hate going to his previous vet, but at healing paws he is treated with love and respect. Dr. Maya goes out of her way to put you at ease. One time we were just walking by her office and she saw us, so she came running out to check on our four legged baby to ensure he was recovering from his digestive system infection . The clinic always does a follow up call to see how he is doing...they truly care. My baby hates being in a crate, so when he is at the clinic the staff always give him lots of love to ensure he is happy while he is there. The treatment has also been first class! Our baby recovered fully and promptly under dr. Maya. He had no scaring on his face despite 2 puncture wounds. We give our highest recommendation for Dr. Maya & the staff at Healing Paws.Thank Yo

I took my cat to Dr. Maya for dental surgery, extraction of upper canine. I was very pleased until after the surgery. I find it quite disturbing that the staff was going to dismiss me and my feline companion after surgery without having spoken to the vet. I had asked to speak to the vet on several occasions and was finally able to after I had told them that I would not leave until having spoken to Dr. Maya. I just wanted to get information on what to do after surgery. Dr. Maya and I discussed alternative pain management and she told me what to remedies I ought to give to my cat but neglected to provide me with proper dosage of one of the remedies nor dis she tell me how long it should be administered which I forgot to ask at the time because I was very nervous. She did not provide any info voluntarily. I called back the following day, and the day after each time the staff told me they'd get back to me,but they never did. At this point I'm very disappointed in Dr. Maya and staff.

I am from Vancouver, but I come here for my dog's vet visits. Absolutely the best vet by far, well worth the drive. All the vet techs are extremely knowledgable and Dr. Maja is a true sweet heart. You can tell that Dr. Maja truly loves being a vet, and she treats my her patients with a whole lot of respect.

I very highly recommend Healing Paws. All of the staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and they take a personal interest in your pet. The only item I gave less than a 5 was punctuality but it is not a concern to me because I know that if they are running late it is because Dr. Maja is taking care of emergent situations and taking the time to explain and answer her clients questions which is much more important to me than getting in and out quickly!

Our 11 yr old Chihuahua, Charlie, would not be alive today if it were not for the extremly knowledgeable and caring treatment he has received at Healing Paws. Dr. Maja has successfully treated Charlie for obesity, collapsing trachea and is now managing his treatment for pulmonary hypertension. He is a very shy, nervous little fellow but completely loves and trusts Dr. Maja and has every reason to do so! My husband and I strongly believe that Maja and her caring staff of Kari, Jessie, Georgina and Holly are the best team in the Lower Mainland!Thank you Healing Paws for taking such wonderful care of our Charlie!

My cat suffered from food and skin allergies for 10 years. After taking her to a vet who insisted on giving her regular steroid shots (which eventually caused pancreatitis), I took her to Dr. Maja who prescribed raw food. This solved the problem and my 14 year old cat is still healthy and happy. Dr. Maja is excellent!

I have brought my Chihuahua to many, many vets in both BC and Alberta within the 8 years I've had her and I must say that I haven't been as happy with any of them as I am with Dr. Maja. I live in Vancouver and it takes me at least an hour's drive to get to Healing Paws and back, but it is totally worth every minute. Dr. Maja takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and answers all my questions in-depth. Like someone else wrote, I never feel like I'm being rushed out of an appointment, even when I feel myself that I'm taking way too much time up. I have absolutely no complaints about Dr. Maja and her staff, from booking the appointment to paying the bill. They are all very caring & patient and I feel that my dog and cat are both in the best hands!

What a wonderful vet! The staff and vetrinarian are so caring. They have gone out of there way to help our little puppy. They took her in even thought they were all booked and were the only animal hospital that seemed to care enough to see her, quickly! Then took time outside of office hours to help. It's so hard to find caring people these days and I am absolutly thrilled to have found such a trustworthy and caring team.

We met Dr. Maja in North Vancouver in 2002. We went to her for a second opinion after another vet diagnosed a simple infection in our 12 yr. old cat's paw as a rare form of cancer and suggested a myriad of expensive, invasive tests. He was almost 19 when Dr. Maja, while on maternity leave, helped us let him go. Dr. Maja is knowledgeable and caring. When our 5 yr. old dog was diagnosed with a rare terminal illness (GME), Dr. Maja spent countless hours of her own time researching the disease. Our dogs was being treated at Canada West, and although they were wonderful, the side effects from the medications they prescribed were not. We knew that the disease would eventually take our dog from us so we wanted to focus on her quality of life while she was with us. We turned to Dr. Maja, and a mix of traditional and alternative medicine. It was the right decision. We still live in North Vancouver, but go to Healing Paws because Dr. Maja, Kari, Jessi and Georgina are the best. Thank you Maja!

Dr. Maja and her staff are amazing. Like the other reviewer, I've been to approx. 10 vets in the last 4 years. Dr. Maja is truly and amazing person and vet. She really does care and takes the time to listen and explain everything. Unlike other vets who either want you to feed veterinary diets or go raw, she actually worked with me to figure out something that works for my dog. I don't live in Port Moody, but I would drive to Mexico if I had to b/c Dr. Maja is truly one of the best vets out there.
