Click to report rating    12/5/19   5     5     5     5   This is the best Vet Clinic I have ever been to and I have owned pets now for 40 years. The staff is amazing and what I love is that I know by taking my pets here that they are getting the best possible care. That is very important to me. Marg Wood is amazing and so are the rest of the staff. I am so glad that I found this vet clinic RID: 68785
Click to report rating    5/11/19   5     5     4     4   Had an emergency with one of my dogs, staff were prompt and very polite and had everything under control in minutes! Not a bad price for services rendered! Dr. Wood was very knowledgeable and very insightful, had to wait a bit to pick up my girl but the clinic was busy! Receptionist was very kind! Would recommend this clinic! RID: 68006
Click to report rating    8/26/18   5     5     5     5   Very thoughtful staff all around at this clinic. From the owner herself, to the other vets, techs, and receptionists. Always welcomed with treats too, so we all feel right at home here. RID: 66716
Click to report rating    7/4/18   5     5     5     5   Dr. Waterman is incredible. To understand how big of an impact he has had, you'd have to understand where we've been. Beginning in January 2018 - my west highland terrier, Sophie, developed blistering rashes on her lower lips, chin, shoulders, back, bum and tummy. For 5 months, my dog was followed by a Vet in Edmonton (not Dr. Waterman) who assured me it was a food allergy, and basically just something we'd have to work out. We changed her diet - she was put on a limited ingredient dog food - treats were dehydrated meat only - everything else was removed. The rash began to worsen and spread. Every two weeks, we'd return to get more antibiotics, and were told the same story 'it's an allergy'. Frustrated, and tired of spending hundreds of dollars seemingly getting no where, I searched online and found Parkland Vet Clinic. That's when we met Dr. Waterman. Great bedside manner, and fantastic with animals. Upon reviewing Sophie's scabs - he said "this is NOT an allergy!" He suspected Staph I RID: 66423
Click to report rating    4/12/17   5     5     5     5   I came into this clinic without an appointment and there were people waiting, but I was concerned about my dog's breathing. They took him to the back right away, but let me come along and hold him while they started oxygen. He settled down and I waited a short time to see Dr Wood. After a good exam, she called in the other Dr Wood and they came up with a plan that saved my baby's life. I expected a large bill after X-rays, bloodwork and oxygen therapy...I was pleasantly surprised at their reasonable rates and caring they gave both my dog and me. RID: 63340
Click to report rating    8/21/16   1     1     1     1   Awful! Do not go here if you value your pets. Vet was curt and impatient after keeping me waiting for 20 minutes beyond the appointment time. Did not do a thorough exam in my opinion. RID: 61385
Click to report rating    8/2/16   5     5     5     5   I have been going to this clinic for years. I have always had the best care of my pets. Dr. Marg Wood saved my Roxys life when she was poisoned. Dr Marg wood met me at the clinic after hours to care for her. I cannot thank Dr Marg wood enough for coming to my house with Fiona to stop my Candys suffering. Plus I cannot forget how Dr Dani Wood met me at the clinic early one morning when Bella some how punchured her throat and hit her arterie. If it wasn't for her rushing to the clinic. We would have lost her. I cannot say enough great things about this clinic. The staff is great. The Drs are the best. You couldn't find a more caring Clinic for your pets. RID: 61259
Click to report rating    5/25/15   2     3     2     3   I had taken my cat to Parkland for a while and I cannot say I was always 100% happy with the service. I don't think there was an appointment that I did not have to wait for 10 to 20 minutes. Dr. Wood treated our cat on a few occasions, and I always found her abrupt, curt, clinical and not very warm or particularly friendly. She also didn't seem to handle our cat in the most gentle manner. I thought maybe I was being over-sensitive, but after reading what others here have posted, I realize I should have trusted my instincts. There were other less than positive experiences. One of the Vet Techs didn't even bother to take our cat out of her carrier when he did the examination and vaccination shots! Going to a new Vet Clinic was frequently in the back of my mind to do, but I just never got around to it. I finally decided it was time to move on. When Tri-Municipal Vet Clinic opened up, we changed over. They have a beautiful office, nice website and the staff have been great. RID: 57152
Click to report rating    3/21/15   3     2     2     1   Dr. Wood seemed lost, unaware, and unprofessional. The techs were great! They also were lacking major resources, especially food. RID: 56345
Click to report rating    8/7/14   4     5     5     3   We were clients of this clinic back when Dr.Wood was in Spruce Grove. We used to absolutely love her. Sadly, we moved our animals to another clinic as we felt Dr. Wood was simply not interested in caring for our pets. She was terse and abrupt and did not give us the necessary information. She seemed to lose interest in our pets. We are now with someone who lets us know our pets are important to her. RID: 52926
5/12/14   5     5     5     5   I'm SHOCKED by the ratings on here. I have a very accident prone dog - the clinic now knows us by name. The first time he broke his radius and ulna I had just been laid off so they did everything they could to keep the cost down. Dr.Wood performed 2 surgeries; hospitalization, post-op pain medication, frequent visits, screw tightening, bandage and cast changes were all provided at no additional charge. 1 yr later he was attacked, the emergency vet quoted $3000 for drains and predicted he would no have use of his back legs if he made it. I called Dr.Wood's emergency cell at 2am and she came in early to admit him at 6am once emerg released him. With hospitalization, close attention and regular wound irrigation for 3 days we avoided surgery altogether and for a fraction of the 3k emerg quote. He regained full function of his back legs. I will never take my fur family anywhere else as I've never had a vet or staff that genuinely cares so much. I recommend them to everyone. We love Dr.Wood! RID: 51532
Click to report rating    2/27/14   5     5     5     5   Having had several pets over the past 44 years and having visited several different vet clinics during this time, Parkland Veterinary Services ranks at the top of our list. The services are reasonably priced, the care is excellent and Dr Wood sets the tone and standard for a vet practice that really cares about animals and their humans. RID: 50199
12/13/13   1     2     3     2   Not impressed with this vet at all -absolutely no care for the animals. Took my cat in due to vomiting - she tugged on his skin roughly, said he's dehydrated, and he's staying here. Then whisked him off. Did not give me updates when they said they would, did not return my phone calls, and were extremely upset when I showed up unannounced to check on him/see him - I really disrupted their day apparently by showing up at 2pm to see MY pet. I never did speak to the vet again about his progress, all information was given to me by her assisstants - guess once she has your pet and the money is coming, she has no more use for you. If you want a vet that cares about animals, will maybe even (god forbid) pet the animal, then this IS NOT the vet for you. Dr Wood truly does not care. Have since moved to Best Friends and the girls there are wonderful and sweet and I really appreciate how Dr Barry attends to my cat - she is very caring. RID: 48754
11/21/11   4     4     5     5   I have always had good service here. Dr. Wood has saved me money by not charging for exam since we could not get my cat out of the carrier! :) Several times when my cat got sick they managed to fit me in on short notice. They are usually either on time or early for my appointments. They sent consolation cards after I had my dog and cat cremated. They are sometimes overbooked since we don't have enough vets in the area (In my opinion) but Dr. Wood explains what she is doing and what she recommends. RID: 29294
Click to report rating    5/3/11   3     1     1     1   Most staff very good, Dr Wood I am not very happy with! She really gave the impression that she did not care at all about my animals, or even had the time of day to talk to me. I have brought all my animals to this vet clinic, and in instances with one of my pets, she advised me into giving my animal a surgery in which needed to be recorrected several times after and caused further problems for my animal. Due to the poor service by this vet clinic, we moved my animals else where and noticed the difference in actually having a good vet. NEVER EVER would i recommend anyone to go to this clinic!! RID: 24779
3/22/11   2     3     3     1   Dr. Wood in the comments seen here I completely agree with, they negative ones I mean. The other staff is friendly. I was rushed though, and it was costly. over all 'meh' service from what I'm used to. Dr. Wood was really hard on her staff and didn't seem to treat them well, it was unappealing. RID: 23764
Click to report rating    12/14/10   1     2     1     1   Had horrible horrible experiences there over a long period of time. Dr. Wood treats her staff and those under her like they are complete idiots and not to her level, which is completely untrue. After several very appalling (and rude!) visits and her substandard service with a multiple of my pets, I'll be taking my pets elsewhere. RID: 21426
Click to report rating    10/15/10   2     2     1     1   There are some staff that are absolutely atrocious. No empathy will your pets issue. And this is the daughter of the owner. I have left this vet and have 7dogs 7cats and have moved to Riverview Vet in Devon. Thanks Goodness! I would never ever send anyon to this clinic, ever. RID: 20303
Click to report rating    8/18/10   1     3     1     1   I was referred to Dr. Wood by my breeder. I booked my puppy's shots a month in advance. Two days prior to the appt. a receptionist called to cancel and ask if I would see the other vet. I said no and asked to see Dr. Wood and asked when she would be in next. They rescheduled my appt and the day before the next appt. they called to cancel again. When I asked why my appts were being cancelled, she told me it was NOT a cancellation, Dr. Wood was not in that day. So I said, "Oh really? Interesting since that was not what I was told when rebooking!" Then she admitted that she wasn't being honest; Dr. Wood was in fact there but was leaving for a doctor's appt. So then she asked if I would be coming in that day to see the other vet to which I responded with an absolutely not. She asked if I would rebook and I informed her I would find another vet. These women could use a lesson in customer service. I do not like being given the runaround and I will not tolerate being lied to. I'm disgusted! RID: 19295
Click to report rating    6/15/10   1     3     1     1   The service I received was awful. They were unable to find my second dogs file they argued with me about it, they were telling me info about my other dog and when I told them they were referring to my other dog they told me I must have gotten confused. I then pointed out the name on the file, they never even said sorry. The vet Dr. Wood never had time to answer any of my questions; she always had a foot out the door. I feel they are just there for the money. I took both of my dogs to be neutered and was given a quote and when it came time to pay it was $100.00 higher than the quote. When I questioned it they were very rude, I paid it and they told me they would get back to me. Two and a half weeks later I called to have my dogs file faxed as I feel they do not appreciate me as a valuable customer. I also received a very rude email from them about the quote I was given. The use of cap locks. Whatever happened to being professional? RID: 18402
Click to report rating    10/16/09   5     5     5     5   Always happy with the care my animals receive and she has a litter rate for puppy vaccines for breeders which I find to be a real plus. RID: 14801
