I went to Dr Schwartz many years ago, he said that the teeth of my baby Chihuahua were not coming out properly. That she would have to be operated on. Getting a second opinion the teeth were not needed to be operated on. Thirteen years later I am glad I went for that second opinion to another veterinarian. My Chihuahua still has a great set of teeth! Always get a second opinion!

Dear Dr. Schwartz, Dr. Nichols, Betty, Lisa & Michaila;
We want to thank you all for the special Care and attention you have provided to Lucy over the years.
She has been such a special little girl in our lives. She has always had soft feelings and shy of others.
She has been a part of every decision we have made since she came into our lives and we will miss her greatly.
You have all been sensitive to her feelings and have treated her gently. We cannot express enough how grateful we are and how much that has helped us.
We especially want to thank both Dr. Schwartz & Dr. Nichols, and Betty for the tender loving care provided to Lucy and the extra time we were given with her.
We were able to let Lucy leave us on her own terms, as she passed away peacefully in our arms.
God Bless you all at Assiniboine Animal Hospital.

Dr. Shwartz is in it just for the money, not for the animals. I’ve had bad experiences with him directly, tries to get the job done quickly without the animals well being being a top priority. would not recommend.

The staff at this clinic are wonderful. They always treat my dog Bijou with love and compassion. They are kind and caring and make going to the vet a pleasant experience! If ever I am worried about my most precious family member, I know she is in great hands when I take her here. Dr. Schwartz is always gentle and kind and all of the staff always make us feel warm and welcomed!

Dr. Schwartz and his staff have always been there for us and recentley came in on a Sunday to take care of our dog who was having an allergic reaction. This is not the first time he and his staff have bent over backwards to help us. We are so thankful to have them as our pet's caregivers. Thank - you to you all.

I am a great advocate of Assiniboia Animal Hospital and I have been for over 30 years. One of the most important people to a dog breeder is the veterinarian and his staff. Dr. Peter Schwartz, Dr. Lynette Stow, Betty, Chris, Lisa and the entire staff are there for my four-legged family whenever I need them. They are very friendly and go the extra mile to ensure amazing care and fantastic professional service. They provide knowledge and expertise not found in other clinics. In happy times, such as the birth of puppies, or more difficult times, such as the death of a dog, their care and compassion are exceptional. I would not trust anyone else to diagnose and care for my dogs!

We have had the luck of having 3 of our cats taken care of at this veterinary hospital over the last 3 years. Thank god for Dr. Schwartz, Betty, and all of the staff there. Not only are they always helpful with emergencies as well as routine care, but they were there for us when our elderly cat had heart/lung problems and eventually died from a large blood clot. Dr. Schwartz told us to call him if we had problems over the weekend, even after the clinic closed. The covering veterinarian fielded the call when he had the clot (a saddle thrombus), and she made sure very quickly we knew what was happeneing and that treatment would be very unlikely to help him, as well as very expensive. I have read up on that problem since and she was exactly right, saving our beloved boy more pain at potentially great cost. Thank you, thank you, for always putting the welfare of creatures first. Thank you for taking such good care of our loved ones. Thanks to Betty for always helping us when we needed her!

I have been to Dr.Schwartz a few times and each time he has talked to me like I am an idiot.He is not gentle with my dogs.He did not tell me the cost of the meds.When I got to the counter,the girl asked if The Dr. Told me how much the meds cost.No he had not.She was not surprised.I was flabbergasted when she told me.Every time I have had an appt. we have had to wait a long time to get to see the Dr. There is always some emergency and we are to be understanding.No apology.I am done with this vet and would NEVER recommend him to anyone I know.

About a year ago one of our cats developed a kidney ailment and with the excellent care and prescribed medication she has made an excellent recovery. When we had to have another of our cats put down this spring we returned to the clinic, where the Doctors and staff were so very kind, understanding and gentle throughout the entire process. Dr. Stow, Dr. Schwartz, Dr. Skavinsky, Betty, Lisa, Bethany, Melissa and Kris were all very professional and caring.

While I love Dr Schwartz I do not like one of the staff,Betty.She made me feel so bad when my cat was sick,that I took him elsewhere to be put down.I will not go back there.This was all because I bought the medicine and cat food he needed where it was cheaper and I questioned the cost of the bill.

Dr. Schwartz and his staff have been like family to me and my babies. They have supported me through an incredibly difficult time when i lost my cat James and have always had a special, caring, and holistic touch. Their prices are reasonable and their location is great. I would highly recommend these kind people if you are looking for a clinic and vet with integrity.

Dr. Schwartz and his staff are the most wonderful and kind people.Over the last 35 years they have seen my husband and I through the care and subsequent deaths of our 4 beloved dogs. The compassion shown to us and our dogs was always amazing. Their diagnostic skills are top notch, if it wasn't for their excellent care and concern I would have lost some of my animals far to soon but with the excellent treatment and advise given to us by Dr. Schwartz and staff we were given the gift of many more years with our babies. Thank you Dr. Schwartz for be so kind for never giving up when things got really tough and being for us at the end.

With thanks to Dr.Schwartz and his excellent team, I was able to have my beautiful cat for going on 14 years. She was a challenge right from when she was a kitten and pounced on a wasp (allergic to them)to when she developed diabetes at an early age. They always took the time to explain things and made me feel like it was a team effort. When she decided it was her time, they did everything they could but she had given up. They were as sad as I was to see her go.

This is the absolutely best clinic anywhere! My 12 yr. old JRT Mack was very sick from Dec/12 thru Feb/13. With Dr. Schwartz' care, determination & dedication it was determined that Mack had a severe liver inflammation & pancreatitis on top of bladder stones which caused polyps to form.He was also diagnosed with diabetes in Feb.I was devastated!When Dr. Schwartz said that he was going home to South Africa for 2 weeks over Christmas my stress went through the roof!He told me to talk to his staff every day and he would keep in contact regularly with them to find out how Mack was doing.Many days the girls called me before I had a chance to call them!I know of no other vet who would go to this length for a patient!Dr. Schwartz is truly a Veterinarian Without Borders!Mack had a successful surgery to remove the stones/polyps.It was a difficult time for Mack but he is doing amazing and I am so grateful to Assiniboia for saving Mack's life!Dr. Scwartz,Dr.Stow & all the staff are exceptional!

7 years ago my cat was really sick and I was worried that I was going to loose her. Then I found Dr. Schwartz. He diagnosed Patches with bad diabetes. She wasn't supposed to live long.
There have been some difficult times but she is now 17, still has diabetes but he keeps her going and happy. These extra years have been a gift.
I would strongly recommend this vet to anyone. They are the best

I have taken my dog to the Assiniboia Animal Hospital for the last ten years. She has had a variety of serious health issues but I always knew she was receiving the most professional, and the most compassionate care at this clinic. The staff not only care for my pet but are also most considerate of my feelings and finances as well. There are a few things in life I would recommend unequivocally. The Assiniboia Animal Hospital is one of them.

I have taken my animals her for the last 9 years both cats and dogs, The only vet I know that takes the time to diagnosis rare diseases and check every option. My cat had a liver shunt for 2 years before getting diagnosed and he was able to let her live 9 happy healthy years with diet and medication. always friendly and now's their stuff from front to back, Affordable rates and always has more then one option of doing things that everyone can afford. Would highly recommend.
