Dr. Kerr is an experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian. In the past several months I had taken my dog, Karl, into the clinic a few times for consultation about a cancer diagnosis and subsequent health issues he was experiencing. Dr. Kerr discussed treatment options in detail with me. I appreciated her candid explanations and answers to my questions and never felt for a moment that any decision I might make would be judged an incorrect one.
At no time did I feel I was being up-sold on services or products. She continued to follow up with me about Karl. Her team was compassionate when it came time to humanely euthanize my pet.
A veterinarian does care about giving you the best advice possible in handling the treatment and care of your pet. As with any service, if you don’t connect with that professional you find a veterinarian you do connect with. Dr. Kerr and her team are stand outs.

I have been going to the Edgemont clinic for at least 15 years with Dr Kerr being our vet of choice since we were first referred there. Since then I have referred many friends and everyone has had the same great experience. Dr Kerr takes the time to explain everything in detail and always gives options on all treatments. You can tell everyone at the clinic is all about pet health. Recently our dog had a bit of a health scare. Dr. Kerr got us referred quickly to a specialist, followed up to make sure we got an appointment quickly @nd then again when the results were in. It was all positive news and we celebrated together.

An awesome clinic with very friendly, supportive staff. The clinic is bright and clean and they don't push you to do tests and stuff that your pet doesn't need. I highly recommend them.

I placed an order for 17.6lb Hill's® Prescription Diet® Metabolic Canine Lamb Meal & Rice Formula and this clinic charged me $106.27 on 27th Jan 2017. I bought the same stuff, same weight from another Vet Hospital in Calgary (where I generally buy from) for $79.26 on 2nd Feb 2017; and, this is the amount I have been paying at this other Vet Hospital for many months. I am appalled at this massive price difference (whopping 34% more). Even if the two Vet Hospitals buy from different distributors the price difference can not be so huge, there is something terribly wrong. I feel outraged. This gives one an inkling about how much Edgemont Vet Clinic might be charging for their other services too. I would think zillion times before going to this clinic. Note: There should be an option for N/A too in the rating.

We take both our dog and cat to Dr. Kerr at the Edgemont Veterinary Clinic. The team at the clinic are caring and thoughtful - they take the time to discuss treatment options in detail and answer any questions you may have. They really love what they do ??? Thank you!

We see Dr. Tracey Henderson here for our girl. She's an integrative vet, which can be very hard to find. She is absolutely outstanding. Did not push over-vaccinating, suppported raw nutrition for our dog, and opts for holistic approach whenever possible (but won't deny drugs or surgery if they are needed). A perfect balance, and she is great with animals. Just love her.

We’ve been going to the Edgemont Vet clinic for almost 14 years and during that time Dr. Kerr has been our main vet but we have seen various other vets at the clinic for emergencies and everyone we have ever dealt with has been great with our dog. All of the staff from the people answering our calls to the doctors are all very friendly and caring.
Our dog has had a number of emergency issues over the years and we have always felt that he has received excellent care without feeling pushed to do unnecessary tests. I also really appreciate that the vets at the clinic have always phoned a couple of days later to check and see how our dog is doing, and they always are available to answer any concerns or further questions. I highly recommend this vet clinic, my lab is going to turn 14 years old next week and it wouldn’t have happened without the great care that he’s received from Dr. Kerr and her team at the Edgemont Vet Clinic.

I have taken our cats to Edgemont Vet Clinic for over 20 years. We had no problems with the change in ownership that happened a few years ago that some reviewers have complained about. We were seeing Dr Olynyk and are now seeing Dr Kerr. She is patient, thoughful, caring and truly interested in how our cats are faring. Appointments are usually on time but occassionally they are a bit delayed. To me this is a good sign because it means that time is taken to treat animals that need more that the allotted appointment time. The reception staff is courteous and professional. Phone calls are answered promptly, there is a good supply of prescription diets and other supplies on hand, the reception area is clean and bright and there are lots of treats for the cats and dogs that are waiting. I have recommended Edgemont Vet Clinic to family and friends and any who have gone have had happy experiences.

I have always had great service with EVC. All of our family dogs have always been cared for well through EVC and I wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my pets here.

We've been going to this vet for about 5 years. The staff and vet are friendly and wonderful with cats. They have a organized and clean facility. They promptly see us and haven't changed our appointment on us yet. They are also the type to be reasonable about suggesting services and do not try and upsell every test/procedure unless actually required unlike other places that will try to maximize revenue by putting pressure on loving pet owners in distress.

I have been with Edgemont vets for 9 years. I want to mention how truly appreciative,blessed n happy I am that I take my fur babies to Edgemont vets I have three cats! One is so very nervous always has been since I adopted him at 9m old he has a heart murmur,as you can imagine in order to assess it well it needs to be clearly heard! One visit my cat was so nervous he was trembling! Dr Kerr snuggled him in so close n sweetly with love n understanding that he settled n She could hear it clearly! Dr Kerr truly honestly cares very much!! My youngest cat had a major Operation to correct a birth defect! And I can honestly say my cat is thriving n living life to the fullest now! Dr Kerr got my cat and myself! Through it with compassion, education,honesty n kindness! I am forever grateful,blessed n honoured to call Dr Kerr My fur babies Vet! THANK YOU!!!

I have lived in Calgary for 12 years and have had cats all m life. When my cat got really sick I found a vet, Dr. C. Kerr, who actually deeply cares for all her patients. It is a great pleasure to bring my cat to Edgemont Veterinary Clinic . Dr. Kerr is informative, encouraging, supportive and helpful with all your needs. I have been going to Edgemont Clinic for many years and I want to say we have had exceptional customer care, starting with the front desk all the way directly to the vet care. We have dealt with Dr. Cathy Kerr the entire time, and I can't say enough good things about her. Her attention to each detail of our cats health (4 cats) has been great and she listens to what we say. She has called us from her home on weekends and evenings after our cats have been in for surgery to make sure they are ok. She has done home visits when we felt our cats should not come to the office due to health concerns and on and on I could go. I also like the fact she has introduced homeocare to the clinic, which is great for pet therapy and a holistic approach. Because she is so good at her job, her clinic has been come very in demand and sometimes you cannot get an appointment at the last minute. But from experience, if it is a true emergency they will make room to see your pet.

We started going to Edgemont around 1995. We saw Dr Dave, Dr Jerry and Dr Cathy, settling on Cathy. She has taken care of our cats and dogs with care and professionalism. She is great with pets and keeps up with the latest knowledge and now that she owns the clinic she is doing a great job bringing along new services and technologies. She treats us as partners and we will always bring our pets to her! Her staff are also great, whether reception or the techs who assist.

This is a great clinic! It is clean and organized and they offer some alternative treatments (like chiropractics) and laser therapy. Dr Kerr has seen several of my dogs over the past 12 years. She is very professional and caring. She is up to date on the latest medications and treatments. The clinic does not overbook and they are rarely behind in their appointments. I have recommended several friends to this clinic who have also been very happy with the service and care they received.

Switched to this clinic because of all the positive reviews; however we are not particularly satisfied. but I guess to be fair, most of the positive reviews was related to Dr.Olynek. We dealt with Dr.Kerr, while she seemed to genuinely care about the well-being of our pet, her expertise is questionable. Our pet had an severe allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics she prescribed, when we went to see her she automatically assumed it was a tumor or some other serious underlying issue that required expensive testing, and sent us home with pain-killers (left us depressed and worried). So that night we had to go to the ER because it was getting worse, right away ER vet pointed out it could be an allergic reaction, gave our pet some antihistamines and voilaa!

Dr. Kerr has been amazing in caring for my two dogs. She's upfront, honest and really takes the time to be thorough with each and every one of our visits.
When we had to put our first dog down due to congestive heart failure, she was very kind and compassionate in helping us through the transition.
Due to our positive experiences with Dr. Kerr with our first dog, we now drive all the way across town just to take our new addition for proper vet care.
I highly recommend Edgemont Vet Clinic as they not only provide exceptional vet care but also fantastic customer service from the Dr's to the Vet Techs.

We LOVE Dr. Olynyk. He's is very very thorough, practical and inteligent. He came very very highly recommended by at least 5 people, and we've had him taking care of our pampered pugs for about a year and a half now and we can't imagine going elsewhere. We've seen Dr. Kerr as well, and she is also good, very caring.

We've been going to this clinic for five years now and have always been impressed with their care and concern, going above and beyond. Dr. Kerr is thorough in her analysis and ensures you understand all the options of treatment and the cost. I WALKED OUT - the vet their seems very nervous an unsure of herself, I have had dogs and horses my whole life and have had amazing vets. Brought in my two puppies and she didn't know which was the head which was the rear, they were very un-organized and i was in the examination room for 15minutes and she hadn't done anything, she wasn't calm and my dogs could feel that and didn't feel comfortable with her. I ended up walking out - maybe would have had a better experience had I booked with the owner Dr. Gerry Olynyk instead of the inexperienced female vet he has on his team.
Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time - no wonder they're one of the cheaper vets in the area.

I cannot express the extent of my gratitude for the care I received from the Edgemont clinic. Dr Olynyk covered all of the bases in diagnosing my cat, and made sure I was aware of all of my options. When it was determined that there was nothing else that could be done, he came to the house and she died peacefully in her favourite spot. I have never felt like a number at the clinic, and I will not bring my animals anywhere else.

Dr. Olynik has been our vet for about 30yrs, seeing numerous cats, dogs, and even a few species that were out of his comfort range. He has a standard check-up list (nose to tail) that he goes thru on every visit, which encourages comment from the human guardian. Then he will address the reason for the visit. He covers physical and psycologial condition of his patients. Less medicine=healthier animal, and he talks/consults with you rather than treating you like an ATM (cash cow). He sets the standard for excellence. Clinic is set up for general tests and surgery, low staff turnover and they are all cheerful and friendly. End of life handled tactfully and gently. Have had experiences with other vets over the years, and there is NO ONE that comes close to Dr. Olynik.

I changed vets just before moving away from Calgary. I was so happy with my dog's vet here. He really gave hi a thorough check up and I was sad to have to leave him..... fantastic vet. He really 'connected with Theo (my dog) and wasn't afraid to really give him a hands on exam.

My 11year old sensitive cat got diarrhea so often, and did in the kitchen or living room instead of using the litter box.?After consultation with Dr.Kerr,changed the diet and it works great. The food is costly , but as long as it works I am very happy with the result. Dr.Kerr is very helpful , not pushy , and I trust her.

I've been going to this clinic since I got my dog 3 years ago, I also job-shadowed back in high school and remember what it was like behind-the-scenes - they are very caring, hygienic, and professional. Dr Olynyk and his entire staff are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and kind. I'm probably what would be classified as a "worried pet parent", but I feel completely confident in the staff and Dr Olynyk, and they've always gone above and beyond with every visit or phone call for whatever I need. Dr Olynyk has a style that is almost "laissez faire" where he doesn't over-prescribe and errs on the side of less medicine = healthier pet, which really works for me. He zeroes in on what to look for, and is always very thorough, comprehensive and attentive with your pet. He really knows his stuff, as does his staff, and I'm very grateful he is our vet. The small things, like punctuality, getting an appt when you need it, cost, clinic atmosphere are among the best. Highly recommended.

This has been my vet clinic of choice for over 10 years. Dr. Kerr and Dr. Olynyk have both cared for my German Shepherd since she was a baby, for regular health exams and also special treatments she has needed over the years. Dr. O even performed a minor surgery for my dog in-house. The doctors have helped to coordinate specialists and out-of-house surgeries when required; I was more than pleased with the referred clinics and doctors. I recently had a great experience with Dr. Weber, who was filling in at the clinic temporarily. The staff at Edgemont Vet always remembers my dog and fawns over her when we visit. It is a good sign for the culture of the clinic that there has been very little to no staff turnover since I have been going there. I strongly recommend Edgemont Vet Clinic to everyone who wants a trusted doctor with a rock solid support staff to help care for your beloved pet from babyhood to the golden years.

The truth is, I come to this clinic because it is closest to my home, and my senior dog has a very high anxiety level when in the car. I have brought my dog here about 4 times in the last 5 years, and they charge about $75 for a consultation, which I suspect is the going price for many vets. They are not over booked and I am usually seen within 15 minutes of my scheduled appointment. The place is clean and staff helpful and friendly. Dr. Kerr is knowledgeable and quite thorough with her check up, listens to your observations about the pet, answers your questions, and willing to explain the dog's condition and needs to you patiently. She is honest if the condition is not good, but still understands that with my senior dog that we may not want to run tests or feed medications for every problem, and never pushes those decisions on us. It may not be cheap, but for the convenience and thoroughness of the consultations, I think it is worth the price.

We have a difficult dog, ultra hyper and hard to examine, but vet did not/would not examine the dog - and didn't order any tests. Just sent us home with antibiotics and said to come back. Went to another vet and dog was sedated for an exam. tests done and issue cleared up in one visit.

We took our geriatric dog into see this vet for assessment having decided our other vet was expensive. Dr Olynyk was knowledgeable, thorough and reasonably priced. He did some in-house testing that didn't cost an arm and a leg. We left with answers, medications and hope. I strongly recommend vet to my friends.
