Click to report rating    2/15/11   4     5     5     3   I have been taking my pets to Dr. Ashley and his staff for a few years now. Dr. Ashley is a vet who cares about my pets. He also seems to be knowledgable and I appreciate it as an owner that he takes time to share that knowledge. I never feel like he rushes us through an appt. That goes a long way in my book. There seems to be a turnover of staff and I'm not sure why. I prefer a vet that will be there for the life of my pet. Dr. Ashely has been there for years and so if I specifically request him, they always try to accomodate us. Overall, I am very happy with Dr. Ashley and I can see my pets are comfortable with him too. His nursing staff is caring as well and that means a lot, but again I notice new staff from time to time. That worries me a little. I have never had a bad experience there...only good. Dr. Ashely is a vet that I trust and as someone who really loves their pet, that goes a long way in my book. I will say their prices are a little high but we have insurance. RID: 22881
Click to report rating    10/8/10   1     4     4     1   My dog had a rather basic skin infection from bug bites that required antibiotics. Over 2 visits this facility STRONGLY recommended more than $1000 worth of tests, products, and treatments, when all I needed was a prescription for antibiotics. They even lied about several things to get me to purchase their products...saying you can't get standard prescriptions anywhere but there. After I finally rejected $500 worth of tests, they were annoyed...handed me the prescription and told me I was finished. Walmart filled the prescription for $15... vet wanted $33... and my dog is fine. In addition, on the first visit they recommended dental cleaning and heart testing that was over $1200 (after I showed the papers that I had all those services done by another vet less than 6 months prior for less than half that price.) Clearly their only interest in animals is the money they can get from the owners. Avoid this facility unless you have money to burn. RID: 20141
Click to report rating    1/17/10   1     1     1     1   No one should take their animals to this pet hospital. Today, we had to put down our beloved dog. Why? She had complications from an injury that occurred a year ago. These complications were 100% going to happen and she was eventually going to have to be put down. We didn't find this out until today. Dr. Ashley did not inform us of this eventuality, so we have had to deal with this with no prior preparation. We have sunk in thousands of dollars for our pet, and we had her on the wellness plan. It's not worth it, this obviously shows greed on the part of the hospital. I wish that we knew so we could have tried to extend her life as far as possible without her suffering. Instead we have been blindsided by this. Save yourself some money and save your animals some pain, do not take your animals here. RID: 16179
Click to report rating    10/23/09   1     5     5     3   I have been bringing my cat and dogs to Banfield since 2004. Over the years I have tolerated A LOT of mistakes made in the paperwork, charting, and even wrong medicine given, which I caught before giving to my pet. I thought that the wellness plan was worth small headaches, but after a blunder in discharge instructions after my dog's surgery, I have HAD IT! I am not renewing the wellness plans for any of my pets. Dr. Ashley is a good, caring doctor...but the errors of his staff are costing him my business. RID: 14992
