Click to report rating    5/31/19   4     4     4     1   I have had many dogs over the years and some have had health issues, from genetic disorders to Parvo to nthe standard abscess. Until now, I have yet been to a clinic that estimates your total bill BEFORE they've even looked at the animal. While the doctors seem competent and I appreciate the quality of care, it is obvious this clinic is gouging clients. Comparing services and costs, I paid $100 more for routine xrays and more than $200 over cost for meds. And that was just one visit! I have not had the intestinal fortitude to break down the costs for the almost $6,000 I paid to treat my dog's illness. Mind you, she was only hospitalized a single night. If you have the opportunity, get a second opinion rather than being the subject of highway robbery when you are in a crisis. AVS takes advantage of good people's love of their pets. RID: 68077
Click to report rating    1/29/12   1     3     1     1   #1:dog had cancer in spleen. Over $500 to tell me I should bring him back weeks later. Went to another vet who told me had I waited, dog would have died & he did emergency surgery to remove spleen..& at $1200 less. #2:dog got attacked. $145 later was told to put him down IF I didn't WANT to spend $3000-5000 in treatment. $1100 later w/my vet, dog recovered!!!! RID: 31869
