Click to report rating    6/22/19   1     1     1     1   They kill my golden retriever. They suministrate prednisone + acetaminofen and my dog for arthritis my dog dye in 5 days. Dr Smith is a criminal and she don't love dogs RID: 68157
Click to report rating    5/31/19   4     4     4     1   I have had many dogs over the years and some have had health issues, from genetic disorders to Parvo to nthe standard abscess. Until now, I have yet been to a clinic that estimates your total bill BEFORE they've even looked at the animal. While the doctors seem competent and I appreciate the quality of care, it is obvious this clinic is gouging clients. Comparing services and costs, I paid $100 more for routine xrays and more than $200 over cost for meds. And that was just one visit! I have not had the intestinal fortitude to break down the costs for the almost $6,000 I paid to treat my dog's illness. Mind you, she was only hospitalized a single night. If you have the opportunity, get a second opinion rather than being the subject of highway robbery when you are in a crisis. AVS takes advantage of good people's love of their pets. RID: 68077
Click to report rating    11/12/14   3     4     3     1   Way overpriced, staff is qualified but not personable at all. There are other specialist near the beach in Melbourne and more near West Palm Beach that are better priced and just as good if not better. RID: 54575
Click to report rating    1/13/13   4     5     5     5   We had a very different experience than those others who reviewed this facility. Dr Jeffrey Peck, excellent surgeon, great with my Rottweiler (who can be difficult), I highly recommend him. RID: 39592
Click to report rating    2/16/12   1     1     1     1   Bad clinic. WE have an awesome dog with an eating disorder. He gets blockages from eating socks. Worst recommendation ever. Our dog had recently had surgery- He was not improving after having his intestines operated on. When we first came into AVS we were coolly greeted by the receptionist and given the run down on payment. We then met an internist named Dr. Theresa Goodson. Said our dog was dying. A few thousand dollars later. Told us that our dog was too much of a mess inside and he should be euthanized. Dr. Goodson said that if we elected to have the surgery (at least 6k) he would only have a 10% chance to live. Called the previous vet. Explained that there was a blockage. And that they said it was most likely inoperable. Our vet had us bring our dog to her. (Dr. Fell at Atlantic Vet Clinic) performed the surgery... for FREE. it was a short and EASY surgery- and our dog THAT NIGHT walked out on his own. AVS would rather have had us euthanize our dog tha RID: 32269
Click to report rating    1/29/12   1     3     1     1   #1:dog had cancer in spleen. Over $500 to tell me I should bring him back weeks later. Went to another vet who told me had I waited, dog would have died & he did emergency surgery to remove spleen..& at $1200 less. #2:dog got attacked. $145 later was told to put him down IF I didn't WANT to spend $3000-5000 in treatment. $1100 later w/my vet, dog recovered!!!! RID: 31869
Click to report rating    7/4/11   1     4     1     1   rude front desk, no personal service, so unbelievably expensive and vet techs are seeing your animals. this place is terrible unfortunately it is one of the only specialty vet clinics in our area RID: 25973
Click to report rating    4/4/11   1     3     3     1   most expensive vet I ever been to. Horrible surgery ragged scaring and had nerve to want another 2k to finish what should of been done already RID: 24088
Click to report rating    11/1/09   1     5     1     1   Please be sure to check the nametag of the vet you see, as not all are boarded specialists. Interns are DVMS, but are not specialists. Not all vets employed by this facility are board certified specialists. Due to past experience, I would avoid this facility and seek out specialty treatment elsewhere. RID: 15138
