After having a bad experience at another animal hospital in Burlington, Headon Forest was such a nice change for the better! They all want the best for the animals in their care and provide exceptional service. You certainly get what you pay for. I will definitely be recommending Headon Forest Animal Hospital to friends in the future.

We had scheduled our puppy at this clinic for his 12 week shots, but when we got there we were TOLD that they were doing a Swab to check for a yeast infection. We were not informed of any costs associated with this unexpected procedure whatsoever, nor were we "asked" we were told this was happening. The doctor also tried to give him an additional dose of deworming when I had brought his records in weeks prior to confirm his deworming was complete. Had we not paid attention, they would have charged us for that as well and given our puppy something he didn't need. Our dog was rebooked for his apparent yeast infection (which we do not believe existed), but we were charged $170 with NO communication as to the expense of everything that was being done outside of what we were expecting to be done. We were not happy with the serious lack of communication and felt like everything was all about making money instead of what our puppy really needed. We won't be taking him back.

I have been dealing with Headon Forest Animal Hospital for 6 years or so. In that time period I have had to put down one of my dogs and had two 2 puppies start life with them. These people are AWESOME & go beyond the call of duty to help me understand and inform me on different options & opinions. They never pressure me to do anything. The ladies at this office are AMAZING! They treat the animals with so much love & respect. My new puppy is a sweetheart and they treat her like extended family. Last year they came out with a extra in house plan for your pet and I thought it was great. I live on a fixed income and this plan is giving me extra piece of mind at a great monthly payment I can afford while saving a lot of money. I am so happy I found a team of vets that care so much. I have recommend this wonderful place to 4 other pet owners and they love it.

They overcharge and SCARE you into doing unnecessary things for your pet. I was told my pet needed a $500 dental surgery when she didn't. They appear nice but there are a bunch of hidden charges you may not even notice. never again! My whole family has moved their 5 dogs somewhere else because of this.

We started coming here this past summer with our new puppy. We couldn't be happier. The staff are amazing, always showing compassion and care to our puppy. Have never had to wait more than 10 mins. for an appointment. Facility is clean...always a positive experience!

They seem to really care about your pets here and treat them with love and care. The staff are friendly, but some will push medications - necessary or not. The services are pricey and they will charge the same initial examination fee even for a follow-up visit for the same issue.

It is evident that this animal hospital is more concerned about making money versus the well being of pets. Selling pet toys (laser toys, etc. and all sorts of expensive gadgets which don't appear to be effective... appears to be a top priority. When I go to an animal clinic...I don't want to be pestered about feeling pressured into buying 'this and that' for my pet. I feel that their pushy sales objectives, takes away from doing an important job...looking after the animals that come into the clinic. They also try to push 'package deals' that are not deals at all...they are money making strategies for the owner(s) of the clinic. MAKING MONEY is their main objective.

We have been going to this clinic for a couple of years now with our cats. The staff are nice & professional. Dr. Martin is awesome, very compassionate & genuinely caring, & doesn't push the meds or tests. The problem I do have with it however are the prices. One example: Last year my parents put their dog to sleep. They had him cremated & the ashes returned in an urn. I saw the bill that their Oakville vet clinic charged them & it was as expected. Three weeks later, I had to put my elderly cat to sleep at Headon Forest Clinic. She was smaller than my parents dog & lighter by about 15 lbs - my bill for euthanasia & cremation with urn was over $100 more than my parents were charged. I was shocked & disturbed, felt like I was kicked while I was down. The same place cremated both pets (Gateway). My bill should've been LESS for a 10 lb cat than my parent's bill for their 25 lb dog. Not very happy about that. The hours also don't accomodate the working stiff very easily.

I have 4 pets that come here, one of them being very difficult. But the staff always make me and my pet feel comfortable and happy.

Headon Forest Animal Hospital offers BOARDING SERVICES for kittens/cats but, there is NO one present to look after the cats beyond their business hours. After their business hours, the cats are left all ALONE. If an emergency arises, nobody is there to assist the cat which is very worrisome...not safe...and not professional. Normally a technician should be watching over the animals and if this cannot be done then they should not be offering boarding services where a pet is left caged, to fend for itself, when there is nobody watching over the poor little felines who must fend for themselves. This is NOT the kind of boarding that I would want for my cat.

I adopted a cat from a shelter and right away he was sick. My first visit had the staff going above and beyond the call of duty as I lost my cat in the parking lot and they rescued him! Dr. Martin was sympathetic, informed and honest about all the procedures and treatment options. She was very sensitive to the cost realities. Eventually I had to put Max down and the whole clinic was very supportive. I also have a small dog and they were so happy to meet him and care for him. I am so pleased they are in my neighbourhood and will stay with them as long as I have pets.

We have been taking our dogs to Headon Forest for as long as it's been open. Before that we took our dogs to Clappison's Animal Hospital, but when they opened Headon Forest we switched over because it was closer. Dr. Stephanie is the BEST. We're always been treated well and when we've had a problem with them, they've gone out of their way to fix it.

My dog and our family have never been treated with anything other than the utmost respect. Every person on staff is friendly and goes way beyond what one would expect to make us feel at home. Everyone knows us by name and loves our dog very much. She loves going there as well. I have nothing but good things to say in the past five years we have been at the clinic. Although i find it slightly expensive i would never go anywhere else, these people care.

Our dog tore a muscle in his shoulder. Unable to move, I gave him a muscle relaxant. After 1/2 hour, he was walking again. Still, I had to find out what was wrong, so took him here. The vet took x-rays - she thought he had a herniated disc. Nothing showed up on x-rays, but she told us we should do an MRI regardless, and consider surgery to repair the disk. Also, to stop the muscle relaxants (even if they helped) because I could purchase the "proper" medication for my dog from them, which was much more expensive. After spending $1000 over 2 weeks, and fed up, my husband and I decided to keep our dog on bedrest. His injury completely healed after 3 months. Also, the "manager" LISA was extremely nasty. When we brought our dog in, it seemed as though she couldn't handle a dog in distress. I was unable to lift him from the car (he was screaming in pain) so she RELUCTANTLY stepped in and barked "YOU NEED TO BACK OFF!" when I advised caution. All this place cares about is money.

Well, my puppy had to come in for his third set of vacs and the newest vet had to look up if he was eligible for his rabies at 13 weeks...that's like asking a cashier how to use a cash register...she should have known....she also said dogs always have the same appetite and they gave me a 3 year rabies tag for his first year....detail oriented they are not. They will not give you general pricing over the phone until they look up your file...I have gone elsewhere....really not knowledgeable.

Been bringing my animals to here since the time I was in a Car Seat. Now I am a lot older now, I no longer need the car seat, and I am still bring my animals here. Got my first cat de-clawed here, the staff were amazing than, always helpful when I called with problems after the first de-claw, but the second time they went over the top with the care that they gave him, he wanted to go back so bad it seemed. The staff always greats you with a HUGE smile, they are always kind and very helpful, the only complaint that I might have is the size of the appointment rooms that they have, the colour is a little bland and not really exciting, but the staff do more than make up for that. A++ ratting, great place, HIGHLY recommend taking your cats and dogs here if you live in Burlington!

I took my first dog here, years ago and when we had to put her down, the staff was so helpful with us making the decision. They kept the clinic open a bit later so the three people in my family could be there to say our goodbyes. Almost five years ago when I got my new puppy I decided to come back. Have not regretted it. Staff at this office is AMAZING! They treat the animals with so much love, they are patient with her, as she is nervous and wiggly. I am so happy we've found a vet office that cares so much. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

I was told about Dr. Stephanie when I needed to find another vet as I was not happy with the vet I had at the time & Stephanie saved my dog's life. The vet's are incredible here and the support staff staff are fantastic- they really do care and it shows. I can't imagine taking my dog or cat anywhere else.
