They try everyway possible to make an extra dollar, do not pay for anything until it is completed as the refund takes 3 to 5 weeks and then they try and say they scanned products that can not be put back in inventory or use, then turn around and refund you less.

AS with some of the other reviews, my dog was given treatment he did not need. They do not care about your pets just what they can bill. I have an excellent Vet for my dog!

Dr Malek and his staff are best, can't say how much we appreciate what they did for us and our chocolate lab Harley. I can't believe some of the bad reviews that people have wrote don't believe everything you read. We've had dogs are whole life we just wish we would have met Dr Malek years ago. You walked out of there knowing your dog or cat or whatever is getting the best care ever. I could go on and on about all the great things him and his staff have done for us in this hard time what ,this is the first review I've written ever but I thought I should say something when I seen some of them negative reviews. Absolute SCAM of a vet clinic. Only interested in charging your credit card as much as possible. Refuses to diagnosis or screen pet until monies paid upfront. This clinic is out to steal your money and not treat your pet. Outrageous service and attempts to extort clients while under duress. Disgusting professional standards!

Excellent care, response, and diagnosis for my cat. Our cat was having trouble urinating near midnight, we were worried and thought to take him to the vet in the morning, but when we called Dr. Malek at this veterinary clinic we were told this was serious and to bring him in immediately. When we arrived around midnight they diagnosed the problem swiftly and professionally, and gave us a detailed plan, reassuring exactly what was needed to be done for our cat. If it wasn't for Dr. Malek and his incredibly friendly staff our cat may very well have not made it to the next morning, due to the severity of his condition. Due to the fantastic hours, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the genuine care and compassion they show toward your pet, and finally the clean and well equipped conditions of the clinic, I would undoubtedly recommend this place to anyone in need of veterinary care.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about Dr. Malek and his amazing staff! From the moment I brought my little man in to be examined until his discharge, every one was so friendly, accommodating and knowledgable that I knew he would be in great care. Anytime I would call to check up on him they were quick to give me an update (no matter what time of day it was). The staff at this facility definitely care about all of their patients and go the extra mile to ensure they are comfortable and well taken care of. I would highly recommend Dr. Malek and his staff to any pet owners out there!!

Dr Malik and his staff provided amazing emergency care to our dog 6 weeks ago. It was a Sunday and he needed surgery due to an accident that occurred in our own driveway. From the moment we arrived we were in excellent hands. While the services were initially expensive, we soon came to realize that the quality of care and follow up offered by Dr Malik to see us through the proper post operative time and healing were worth their weight in gold! He took painstaking care of our dog and tried different medications to help the healing process. They even took him in for a period of time at a reduced charge and we were relieved to know that he was being observed 24/7 during a challenging time. The staff were always helpful, respectful and empathetic and we felt that this care was worth every penny spent. We are thrilled to say that our precious dog is fine! I highly recommend this clinic and the vital work they do in emergency situations!

Took my dog there for vomiting and diarrhea. Was quickly assessed by a technician and saw a veterinarian within 10 minutes. The standard of care was amazing. Got our dogs blood work results back in less than 20 minutes instead of waiting for the next day. He stayed the night and a technician was available at all hours to give us updates. He is back home happy and healthy. Thank you for everything, your team is outstanding! Should we have any more emergencies, we will be back.

Wish I didn't take my cat there. What they call humane euthanasia ended up being worst suffering for my cat. I don't know what happened back there, I've heard a couple sounds which I now think might have been rough handling of a stressed cat with a very serious condition. No mild sedation for a chest drainage. I had to ask to see xrays and the vet seemed not really wanting to show me. Euthanasia was supposed to be the answer. I was told to wait while they put a catheter in, than would bring me in to say goodbye. A girl came & got me, not in a rush, simply saying they were having some problems. Got in the back, my cat was in severe respiratory distress and staff was just standing there & said they couldn't get the catheter in. The state my cat was in, was terrible. Couldn't breath or was trying, maybe 70bpm if not more, & staff still trying to figure out the catheter. Twice I had to ask to give him a shot of something. God knows how long they had him like that. Never again! and the $$$

Please do not take your pets to this clinic. Cost of service over the phone was grossly underestimated. Clinic procedure in putting our pet down was inhumaine.

While the facilities are very clean and modern, it is the staff that make the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of the York Region stand out above the rest. Their compassion to pets and owners alike really make bring comfort during difficult decisions. I appreciate that they are sincere and genuine and make it a priority to explain things clearly so that I can understand them which is so reassuring. They have my pets best interest at heart and that is important to me. I have had to visit them a couple of times now, and on every time, they have been able to help 'TeeTee'. I know she is greatful as well and was back out side running and playing in no time.

We were charged $1300 for a I hr emergency visit. Certainly, by any accounts, too much money for value of service!

this emergency hospital is very expensive they double their price on everything. The only good thing is they are open when the others are close they know they have you over a barrel so you have to pay the high prices...wonder what happens if you do not have a credit card would they turn you away..probably

All I can say is that I got taken advantage of!. This clinic is there to take your money without providing good service. I understand that this is an "emergency" hospital and expect to pay more, but I found their lack of compassion appalling. They saw me coming from a mile away and knew that I would do anything in order to save my pet. This shouldn't give them licence to take me for everything I'm worth. In the end, it was all for nothing. After I was told there was nothing that could be done, I kissed my baby good bye and let her go to sleep.

My dog was near death. I took him to this Emergency Vet around midnight. She charged $250.00 to do a 10 min. stool sample and tell me that he tested positive for parvo. She wanted $1500.00 to keep him for the night, and we had to pick him up by 8am and take him somewhere else. We told her we couldn't afford that, so she said our only option was to euthanize him. I asked her about charcoal - a $4 cure I read about on the internet. She told me no and I signed a waiver saying I declined vet advice. I took him home & force fed him water all night. I was able to find Charcoal the next day, & within an hour he was eating and drinking on his own. By the time ANIMAL CONTROL got to my house (the vet called them because we were letting him "suffer"), our dog was back to his normal, hyper, happy self and Animal Control suggested finding a new vet. Lost a little faith in the veterinarian field (and $250), given she would rather euthanize him instead of sell me a 4 dollar bottle of charcoal to try.

Look, this is an emergency clinic foremost. We have had 2 experiences with them, both involving bloat on two different dogs. In both cases, the dogs were seen to very quickly, pain meds administered while rest of assessment done. Both outcomes resulted in both dogs walking out alive. This is not a clinic to take a runny nose to or if the dog/cat looks a little off colour. For afterhours care/emergency, you have to expect to pay for it. It wasn't cheap but then if our regular vet isn't on call for us, you don't have much choice. I've had clients referred there for othro work and been happy. They are board certified specialists so expect to pay.

I took my dog here after a severely broken claw on a holiday weekend, not a serious injury, but I couldn't fix it myself and I couldn't wait either. They took all the procedural admission tests (temperature checked joints eyes and palpitated) which I thought was silly, it was clear what was wrong. But they fixed the claw, and we were on our way. They bumped us for a more serious emergency, so the attending vet told a tech give me my follow up care instructions. It was expensive, but all in all I was happy with the service we got.

I wouldn't ever go to this place again. If your problem is very serious, take the 30 minute drive south and go to VEC(there price is better and you could probably get a specialist to see your animal). These people had my dog in there for an hour, charged me $700, and told me they couldn't do anything for me. The receptions was rude and they were extremely insensitive to the situation.
