The male reacted to the anesthetic and was obviously in a lot of pain. Took him back to be prescribed anti anxiety pills and opiate pain killers. I explained I have owned many dogs in the past without any reaction whatsoever. Doc said this was a normal response for many males after a neuter. After spending over $800 for both dogs she had the nerve to charge for the opiate and anxiety pills, which we bought and didn’t use. If you have a lot of money, and are willing to get gouged for unnecessary testing this is the place to go! If not, find yourself a vet with compassion and empathy for your pet as well as you. Click to report rating    5/7/20   1     1     1     1   I agree with the previous posts. This clinic has become nothing but a money grab as Dr. Brown is also associated with Bridgewater veterinary service who also price gouge and prey on people's love for their animals. Even with all their expensive testing and diagnostics it appears as though Dr. Brown will still go ahead and suggest surgeries and expensive medications just for a dollar. It's disgusting what this clinic and their cohorts Bridgewater do to poor families trying to seek care for their loved ones. They only do what gives them the most money and even lying to people to encourage surgeries that are unwarranted, then charging for expensive medications and then trying to sell the fact that they do euthanasia. They make sure they can suck every dollar they can out of you. Absolutely a DISGUSTING clinic. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE. RID: 69225
Click to report rating    12/11/19   1     1     1     1   DR. Brown should be ashamed of herself, and should give her head a shake. More concerned about her own opinions rather than being open to people's decisions. Innapropriate comments. Etc... I would not only suggest not having Dr Brown as your regular veterinary doctor, but I would not recommend this vet clinic over all. -5/5 stars YOUR PETS DESERVE BETTER RID: 68799
Click to report rating    7/6/17   5     5     5     3   Prices have increased but still reasonable compared to the vets in Winnipeg. My dog has been going there since she was a pup 6 years ago. Would not trust any other clinic with her care. Staff are great. They love my dog. RID: 64102
Click to report rating    6/29/17   2     3     3     3   Dr. Mander has left and now so has Dr. Kahlon. What remains are vets who have repeatedly demonstrated that they cannot be trusted. This from 2017: One older dog got vaccines and then had green mucus pouring from her nose and vagina and briefly lost hind end control. Another dog had a stroke and became quadriplegic. They couldn't identify the problem, yet wanted to send him to Saskatoon for surgery with a dim prognosis and recommended euthanasia instead - this dog was WALKING 2 days after they saw him for a follow-up. A cat of mine has good gums and teeth from regularly brushing, yet through some sleight of hand when my head was turned, a vet claimed that a tooth was sensitive and caused his gums to bleed profusely. She claimed he had tooth resorption. Over $800 estimate for extraction. What she did was push hard on that little tooth and cut the gum with her fingernail - my cat guarded his mouth after that, but showed no sensitivity 24 hours later. I'm getting a second opinion RID: 64042
Click to report rating    4/11/17   5     5     5     5   They have looked after all my doges for the last 30 years, and they have always been professional and compassionate with their care. RID: 63311
Click to report rating    9/25/16   1     5     3     1   I have been taking my pets here for the past decade, but things have gone downhill in the last year. Twice, I have taken my middle-aged retriever for a visit only be told "I don't want to tell you what I think. We should do this expensive testing". Isn't that what a vet does? Tell you what they think it could or couldn't be and then we decide? Also, we had to euthanize 2 cats about two years apart. The cost tripled in those 2 years. We have been dealing with a brand new Vet, straight out of school. Lastly, they use fear tactics to get customers to pay expensive fees for things like heart worm medication, when the likelihood of a dog getting heart worm in our climate is very slim. When asked, they just spew out more fear tactics so you pay the huge mark up on the medication. I won't be going back here. Fees are WAY too high for everything and there is very little knowledge or experience with the new vets. RID: 61689
Click to report rating    3/22/16   3     3     3     3   I found the techs did the evaluation and examination on your pet charged you then told you what the vet told them and that was to bring your pet back so the vet could do the examination and tell you the exact same thing and be charged an extra $59.00 for nothing bad business instead of writing a prescription for your pet if needed like mine did. Click to report rating    3/17/13   5     5     5     5   took my dog to Dr. Mander he explained everything in detail so that we would understand what she would go through, she had a lump removed, a growth on her toe, and her teeth cleaned which he recommended when she was under. He priced as affordable as he could. They were very good with my dog. The follow up was also pleasant. I would recommend them to anyone, even though its kinda of far to travel its worth it. Click to report rating    12/20/12   5     5     5     5   Have been taking both my Dachunds to Dr. Mander for many years. He has always taken the greatest of care with them both. When my male had to be put down due to a situation which there was no hope, you could see the pain in Dr. Manders eyes. All the staff felt my pain and offered support. Just this month (Dec2012) my female needed major surgery to remove her spleen and part of her liver due to cancer. Dr. Mander and the whole team and staff cared not only for my dog, but for me as well, as I could have lost her days before Christmas. Thanks to their professional skills, I will see another Christmas with my loved dog, and maybe another yet. She is doing very well and happy again. That is gift that I can never repay. They always know my name when I call and know my dogs name without asking. Always friendly and helpful and supportive. These people are tops in every way. You will not find a more caring team. This is the place for our and other family pets. RID: 20894
Click to report rating    9/1/10   5     4     2     5   My overall experience is very positive about this clinic.Staff is very helpfull.Vets are knowledgeable but little quiet.I first went there because of my friend who takes all her pets there. My female had fractured bone and it was going to be about $3000-$4000 in city but at Stonewall it cost me much less plus my pet healed very good. The biggest thing is nobody in this clinic brag about anything, very down to earth people. I really thank them from bottom of my heart.I have been regular ther for over a year. RID: 19521
Click to report rating    8/30/10   3     4     4     4   Doctor Baneuf should refrain herself from making comments such as: "The worm pills would be cheaper if you had a smaller dog." It is not welcome or appropriate to be making such a statement. And the vet assistant (One of them) shouldn't be working there if she doesn't let the dogs give her hugs or licks. Pretty pathetic! Other than that, the male doctors are very nice and competent. RID: 19488
Click to report rating    8/24/10   5     5     5     5   I read a comment on this site and was little bit concerned but my friend who is a client there rated them as excellent.I took my pet there for his skin problems. Dr.Mander was very patient, listened to my concerns and explained in detail about his condition.I felt the overall experience was great. I was given the choices and I along with vet. decided what was best for my pet. I am recommending them to all of my friends RID: 19376

12/6/09   5     5     4     5   I took my pet there about 3 years ago when the clinic was owned by old veterinarian . My pet had ventral dislocation of hips.He simply said it is better to euthaniize her as she is old and chance of recovery are very low. His associate offered to try treatment though he said it might not work. we went ahead with treatment and my pet lived 2 more years. I was happy with this young doctor and we decided to see him only. Then he took over the ownership and since then we are regular to stonewall veterinary clinic. He changed the clinic for better, treats our pets and us very nicely. Our another pet was treated successfully for heartworm disease. I am so happy and I have sent my friends and family there. I will highly recommend this clinic to everybody RID: 15640
