What a great experience we had at CCO! The staff (especially Janice, Janelle and Dr. Swainson) have been nothing short of wonderful. This entire process of having my dogs ACL repaired could not have been better. Dr Swainson is a sweet, skilled and very knowledgeable veterinarian. Our dog will need an additional surgery to correct the other TPL and I would only trust CCO to perform this. Our 1st appointment went very well and was easy to schedule. Dr Swainson patiently explained what Bernie needed and answered all our questions. He is now home resting after surgery and I even have Dr Swainson's personal cell phone number if needed. Now that's amazing! Thank you so much for loving and caring for our Bernie as if he were your very own.

Dr. Swainson is wonderful and very knowledgeable!! My puppy had a FHO and is doing great! Everyone at Colorado Canine Ortho is so caring and compassionate-especially Dr. Swainson and Janice, who gave discharge instructions and answered my frantic phone calls. I appreciated all of the encouragement and coaching during a stressful time.

Buckey, our 6-month old Siamese kitten broke his left elbow. Our primary vets, Black Forest Vet Clinic, took x-rays and identified the break. It looked like a simple break, the olecranon had broken off the ulna. We considered that a surgeon could reattach the olecranon to the ulna with a couple of pins and wires. There are several orthopedic surgeons in the Colorado Springs area, but we found that only Dr. Michael Bauer is board certified. We had also met Dr. Bauer prior to needing these services, and knew that he is one of the best veterinary orthopedic surgeons in the nation. Other surgeons may charge slightly less for their service, but none have the quality, skills and long history of high quality experience of Dr. Bauer. We opted to go with the best, and we are glad of it. Upon opening the elbow, Dr. Bauer discovered that the break was quite complex, some shattering had taken place and was demanding to repair. Nowhere can you find a better, more dedicated staff and surgeon.

Dr. Michael Bauer repaired my left ACL 2-13 (TPLO) and the right ACL 2-14 (TPLO)and has done a wonderful job both times. My mom waited for me both times and the staff took good care of her. The entire staff has been very supportive, willing to answer any questions, and I would send any of my puppy friends to them. I am looking forward to running and jumping this Spring! Diesel Zebarth

Colorado Canine Orthopedics is an amazing clinic. They have given life back to both of my Newfoundlands when we thought we had lost all hope. They are caring, compassionate and truly seem to love what they do. The fact that the doctors are board certified is huge! Because they are up to date in their training, education and certification, you can rest assured that you have an expert working for you. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are and how grateful I am to have found them!!!

Colorado Canine Orthopedics provided an exceptional experience for us before, during and following our dog's surgery. Dr. Michael Bauer is highly regarded in the local vet community, and is known for successfully mastering even the most challenging surgeries. He and his staff are unfailingly professional, empathetic and kind. All of the services were exactly as described before the surgery, and performed in a timely, personal and proficient manner. We were impressed with special touches like dog beds and toys in the waiting room, animal videos in the consulting rooms, and a photo of our pet on the cover of the folio that covered all aspects of after care. Everyone was friendly, encouraging, and seemed to take an individual interest in our dog. We could not have had a better experience

The staff and doctor really care about your pet. The girls make sure that (you) are comfortable, as well. Doc called the evening of surgery. Staff called one week later. Was told to give a kiss to Chloe, from them. Before being discharged, they took time to go over everything and was not rushed. Came home with a bag of meds, bed pads, etc., as well as instructions and color photos of Chloe's knee and x-rays, before and after surgery. I highly recommend Colorado Canine Orthopedics. My husband and I thank you....and so does Chloe.

The staff was helpful and kind. We waited in our waiting room for 30 mins before seeing the Dr. The Dr. seemed rushed while we asked questions. Overall I was satisfied with the care that my pet received.

From Juicy Fruit walking in tail wagging (usually locks up all four legs at the door at any animal facility) to the clean facility, friendly staff and extensive information provided by Dr. Bauer, Juicy Fruit feel asleep on Dr. Bauer's leg while he was explaining our options. All of this made it very easy to feel ok about trusting our dogs well being with Colorado Canine Orthopedics, The Day of the surgery we walked in and our dog was treated like the million $$$ dog she is, The surgery was a tremendous success,It has been over two years and with the surgery and rehab Juicy Fruit is 100%, she is a hardcore ball and squirrel chaser and lives to run, We play and exercise with her everyday. She is a happy, healthy dog thanks to Colorado Canine Orthopedics, There is no way to thank them enough for giving my dog her life back The only thing I would change...I wish they could be my dogs fulltime vet, I would drive from denver with no questions asked

We took our cat, BB, here several years ago when he was hit by a car. They did an excellent job of taking care of our cat. Just a few days ago, we took our 4 month old puppy, Mystic, here with a broken leg. It was sad to see her in so much pain. The doctors and staff are very caring, affectionate and knowledgeable. They did surgery within hours and our puppy is doing great today. Thanks so much!

I had a scary experience with my little dog Lucy. After two weeks of unsuccessful treatment for a back problem from two other veternarians, I was referred to the emergency center and Colorado Canine Orthopedics. Lucy was operated on on a Sunday when Dr. Swainson was told of her condition and thought she needed immediate surgery. It is two weeks later and my puppy who was paralyzed is walking and recovering. The staff is very concerned and the Doctor returned my phone calls and squeezed me in if I had concerns.

I was referred to Colorado Canine Orthopedics by our family veterinarian, for our Golden Retriever's knee. Just as we thought, Samantha had a torn ACL and it was recommended that she have a procedure called a TPLO to alleviate the problem. We had the surgery done that same week and were able to stay at their hospital all day, while Samantha was in surgery. I was blown away by the fact that we were able to stay at their facility, let alone watch movies in their rooms while we waited for our dog. Our surgeon was Dr. Riecks and he was wonderful! It has been just over two months since Samantha had her surgery and despite the activity restrictions, already she is a new dog. Thank you so much! You guys are awesome!

This is a canine orthopedic clinic. Dr Bauer was extremely compassionate and understanding. When we called and asked about cost, we were told to bring her in for care and not to worry about cost first, that they would work with us. The doctor then mapped out a treatment plan that was conservative and well thought out. We were not pushed to do something drastic and expensive first as another vet tried to do. We were very impressed and happy with the care our girl recieved.
