Rated it right down the middle for everything since the staff is a mixed bag. I've never had any problems with any of the receptionists or the techs and assistants. It's Dr. Murnighan I have a problem with. Since Merrick has a website, you can email your pet's doctor. On a few occasions, I'd called and/or emailed him about non-emergency problems with my dog, and he never returned my phone calls nor responded to the emails. While he's a good doctor, the fact that phone calls weren't returned nor emails responded to, when my dog is having a problem, I'd like a return phone call or a response to an email letting me know how the problem can be fixed. My advice, ask for any other doctor but him.
