I had to bring my 14 year old Lab in last night. He was suffering and needed to be put down. This was a scary time for him and a very sad time for me. I walked in and the dog was taken from me. I tried to follow him and was forced out of the restricted area. Now, there is a scared and dying dog in a cold environment and an owner upset that he cannot be with his canine friend. The girl at the front desk was very lippy when I told her that I don't like what is happening and want the dog back, to figure out an alternative. Another associate at the hospital threatened to call animal control if I left with the dog that I just brought in 3 minutes earlier. If you can help it, bring your pet to their normal vet. You do not want to deal with these people. They'll treat you like a policy. They have no issue separating you from your scared and dying animal, who only wants your comfort through their last moments of life. Avoid this business if you can. I wish I had.

Horrible experience.. Sent my daughter out with our kitten that was neutered today at the humane society ($30.00) and she didn't get pain medicine for the kitten because she was unaware that she could. This place was RUDE and wanted to charge $75.00 (AND SHE HAD THE PAPERWORK) to have her pay for a couple of pain pills for the kitten... TO EVERYONE OUT THERE- PLEASE USE THE 24 HOUR ANIMAL EMERGENCY ROOM IN HOLLY HILL... PATHETIC... It's all about money- not an animals well being! Tamara Szabo

After posting my horrible experience on facebook about my visit here(VAEC) I was astounded at the terriable things people had to say about this place. It is by far the worst place I have ever been to in my life. They dont care about your pets and just want your money. My dog was deathly ill and the first thing the little girl at the front desk said was she looks fine to me with an attitude. The young vet there was super unprofessional and did nothing for my dog but try to shove food down her throat meanwhile gossiping with the other young girls in the office with my dog on the table in another room so I couldent see &thinking I coulden't hear them talking. I just want to let people know how horrible this place really is so they dont have to go through the same thing my husband and I did. I spoke with my vet and they said there is a good Doc there but I def didnt get to see him. After a second vet clinic she has hypoglycimia and needed fuilds and meds for brain swell due to seizures.

Highly recommended. I've had to go in on holiday weekends twice for my pets. Bless them for this important coverage. No emergency vet clinic will be inexpensive. They see animals in dire condition and at odd hours, and they don't have access to long term client records so they can't operate on goodwill alone. It was worth every cent for their care of my critically ill pets.
