Dr. Anderson hurt my dog and I had to put her down. That vet shouldn't be practicing. Don't take your old sick dog to her.

We have been using Beechmount veterinary services for 15+ years. During this time Dr Jill and Dr Grant have treated many of our rescued cats plus our family pets including 2 skinny pigs. My cat once caught a baby rabbit which I took to Dr Grant with my then 10 year old daughter. Dr Grant kindly and quietly told me it would almost certainly die and to spare my daughter he allowed us to set it free on his property. This is the above and beyond service provided by the Beechmount team and I would personally recommend them as 5*plus.

This is a fabulous clinic. We have been going to them for nearly ten years, and our pets adore Dr. Jill and Dr. Boa, the staff at reception and the technical staff. In fact they like them so much they like to drop in just to visit, when we are going by on our walks! We are always welcome. They have been particularly kind and compassionate when our pets developed serious illnesses like cancer, explaining the conditions very clearly, developing treatment plans and in counseling us when we had to make the difficult decision to let them go. The best Canadian vets we have ever had.

Dr. Boa has been my dog's vet since I got her as a puppy almost 7 years ago. He is kind and informative, and is the only vet who knows how to calm my nerves when my dog is sick. My dog has a very sensitive gut and is sick almost yearly, but Dr. Boa always gets her back to good health quickly. He takes his time explaining what is wrong with your pet, and even draws diagrams so you really understand! He genuinely cares about animals AND their owners. The reception staff and vet techs are also lovely. I highly recommend Dr. Boa at Beechmount Animal Hospital.

Brought my kitty in VERY sick, though I didn't realize it. Dr. Kirsten Anderson handled her great, called me EVERY day while she was in hospital. Also the staff called for about a week after, for aftercare, made sure she was ok. Yes, the bill was expensive, but reasonable for the amount of time and care taken. Do not feel I was gouged at all, especially considering all the education vets have. Recommend Dr. Anderson highly - she is young, personable, and cares for your pet like her own. She is also mindful of costs and does not do anything unnecessary.

Had the worst experience with Dr Dodd, only seems to care about money. She is cold hearted and rude. Brought my dog in due to lethargy, she told me my dog was dying and needed to know my "limit" refused to continue to treat my dog after I told her I was also treating holistically and I asked if she could work alongside the holistic vet, and basically said it was my fault that my dog was going to die because of that. Grant, however and the rest of the staff have always been amazing. I would only go back to see a different vet, never Dr Dodd again

Dr. Boa and Dr. Blathwayt are both excellent. When I first brought in my puppy, Dr. Boa took the extra time to really get to know us and our puppy, and gave us an abundance of extra tips and advice for raising a healthy well-trained dog. Dr. Blathwayt was also great - very compassionate, extremely good with my dog, and overall made it a pleasurable experience, all without gouging my pockets. I once had the misfortune of dealing with Dr. Dodd who I was not at all impressed with. Dr. Dodd saw my puppy for his booster shots, did the least thorough phsyical examination I have seen, and did not describe a single vaccination she was administering and their potential complications. As it turns out, my dog had an allergic reaction (likely to the leptospirosis vaccine), and when we promptly brought him back in, she gave him another shot, and some Benedryl, and I was handed another $40+ bill! Love the clinic overall, but will make sure to never book with Dr. Dodd again.

Dr. Boa explained in detail what is wrong with my cat and listened/answered to my concerns and questions. Genuinely seems concerned about the animals and happy to deal with the stressed owners. He is gentle, kind and genuine. He was dealing with an unexpected emergency so the staff took my daughter on a tour to see the animals while I calmed my nervous cat. The charge for the exam and meds was well beneath my cost expectations. I love this clinic and the staff.

Dr. Boa is wonderful. He is compassionate, genuinely seems to love animals, takes time in appointments to provide useful information and advice. He is knowledgeable and caring. We searched all the vet reviews on various sites, and checked out several vets in the area, and are very happy with our choice.

Grant isn't my favourite .. recommended eye surgery, when I brought my dog in for the surgery, Jill was on duty and advised surgery wasn't necessary. Saved me $400 and my dog hasn't had issues for over 3 years. I won't go to anyone but Jill from now on. She is the best.

Dr. Boa is an amazing vet. He took the time to explain everything about my cat's condition and my options. Never did I feel pressured into any treatments that I wasn't comfortable with. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful, caring and knowledgable vet. He' the best!

We've been taking our pets here for 4 years and the service and value is exceptional. Dr Boa is fantastic; he is thorough and knowledgeable and values the health and safety of animals over money. I will never take our pets to see anyone but Dr Boa.

Ginger saw DVM Grant Boa Thursday morning. Dr. Boa says Ginger is possibly the nicest, calmest cooperative dog patient he's had. Dr. Boa is the kindest, most thoughtful, insightful and interested DVM I have ever met.
N.B. These remarks are strictly the reviewer's paraphrase: Diagnosis? Upper GI bleed from acute Colitis likely brought on by the introduction of a different protein source to Ginger's gut. (Layman's terms: 'FINICKY POODLE')
Wow, really? That simple? And I was psyching myself up to see an X-Ray of a bag of nails jammed in her bowels. I mean come on now; she was farting "death gas" and pooping blood pudding.
After an injection of whatchamakallit, daily doses of Metronidazol and sulcate suspension, Ginger's bowels are no longer oozing blood, she don't stink no more (I ain't got no time for dat!) and she is eating solid foods.
To have gone from blood coated bowels to almost normal again in 2 days is a testament to Dr. Boa's years of diagnostic experience.
Phew!

We have been extremely satisfied clients of Beechmount for about eight years. We took our older Golden there first on the advice of a neighborhood friend whose dog Grant Boa's exceptional surgical skills had saved after another clinic had botched an initial operation. We have been delighted with the professionalism, knowledge and humanity of the whole Beechmount team. Grant Boa is clearly an outstanding vet with a great fund of knowledge,as are the vets he has surrounded himself with. Both of our Goldens have received the best of care at Beechmount over the years. When our much loved older one recently became ill with a rapidly spreading lymphoma and needed to be euthanized, Grant and his team provided us with empathetic support we were so grateful for and will never forget. Heartfelt thanks to all of you at Beechmount! You're really the best!

I have been going to Dr. Grant Boa and Dr. Jill Blathwayt for over 15 years....I love them! Before I went there I had taken my pets to several other vets in the area and was never happy with either the vets or the facilities or with how I/my pets were treated. Dr. Boa and Dr. Jill B are compassionate, answer all of my questions (I always have many)and are genuinely concerned with the well being of animals. Their fees are a bit more than some other clinics....but well worth it!Chris

After almost losing my dog at the hands of another vet and a medication error, we went to see Dr. Boa at the urging of a family friend. We were very impressed with his compassion and his knowledge. It is obvious that Dr Boa is a vet because he loves animals, our questions are always answered. So happy to have been told about Beechmount animal hospital, as long as we have pets we will be going to Beechmount.

Jill and her staff are amazing - I have had a number of cats over the years and have seen a number of veterinarians, but never have my cat (and I for that matter) received such caring compassionate treatment. You would be lucky to have Jill look after any of your animals.

Jill is wonderful and always keeping up to date on the latest technology/medicine. Grant is a good vet but tends to be pessimistic. He also seems better dealing with dogs than with cats.

We have been clients at Beechmount since moving to Waterloo over 7 years ago. The Veterinarians came recommended by our previous Vet and family members. We're glad our two dogs are patients of Grant and Jill. Each have have given us excellent service, our two dogs have had great care and we'd recommend them highly.

My cat recently got ill and had to spend a few days in the hospital. I felt the staff were caring and that she was in good hands. Thanks to the excellent care she received, she is back home and feeling much better!

The female vet seems to be very knowledgable and up to date on treatments and technology. Doesn't seem to be the same for the male vet.
