Alta Vista has been my own pet's vet for years , with excellent care being given. I am also co founder of VOKRA, a large cat rescue running in Vancouver for over 22 years. For much of that time Alta Vista has been one of our most used vets. We so appreciate their care with our cats and kindness to us.

Six months ago we had to have our 20 year old cat put to sleep. Dr. Munjal came to our home at my request and was so kind and caring at such a heartbreaking time. We have dealt with dr. Munjal for ten years and found him to be compassionate and kind. His fees are extremely reasonable compared to other vets on the west side and medications very fairly priced. We were always able to get a same day appointment even when they were busy. I have recommended this clinic to a friend and she has thanked me several times for the wonderful care Dr. Munjal took recently of her badly injured cat who is now doing well. I met someone recently with a new puppy who was shocked by vet fees on the west side and I recommended this clinic. Thank you Dr. Munjal and your caring team. We received a beautiful card signed by everyone at the clinic after our much loved cat passed away. We had twenty wonderful years with her. If I could write excellent I would do so.

I have been going to this clinic for years with all my pets. I have always been pleased with the treatment done by Dr. Munjal and his staff. They are compassionate and caring. Over this time they have treated 4 cats and 4 dogs. I am a physician and Dr. Munjal doesn't mind in the slightest if I ask questions or even differ with his treatment plan. He never has ordered unnecessary tests or treatment.

HE KILLED A DOG with NO REMORSE or APOLOGIES!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR precious furry family members to this monster!!! Dr Munjal used to be my dog's vet, but I found out today that he treated family member's dog for a routine procedure and the dog died. Dr Munjal knew there was a complication, but let the owner take the dog home where she passed away within hours. To add insult to injury, when presented with an opportunity to issue a refund for the procedure that killed the dog, he turned his back unapologetically. I will no longer take my dog here and I hope this serves as a warning to anyone who might be considering him as a vet. This would be a zero star rating if that was an option.

I have had the pleasure of taking my adopting from and taking my pets to Alta Vista for the better part of ten years. The staff are lovely, very knowledgeable, and truly care for the well being of all the animals they treat. They will take you in on extremely short notice, emergency or other wise. As an added bonus, the clinic cat, Sherlock, is absolutely adorable!

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY... This animal hospital does NOT care about your pet, just the bottom dollar. Call around; Gatineau, Renfew, Montreal, etc... and get a quote... do not deal with this place unless you have lots of money. Don't take their word, just find out what needs to be done, and go elsewhere.. Trust me! DO NOT GO HERE!

Dr. Munjal and all the team are competent, compassionate and wonderful. Over the years we have had 3 cats and 1 dog under their care and they have been excellent with all of them. We found them to be honest, direct and friendly. Our animals love going to them and have received excellent care.

My kitten passed away when I had her spayed here. They did not have an explanation for me, and I recognize this is always a risk, but I suggest you take your animals to a place that probably has more advanced equipment for monitoring during surgery. They were very heartfelt and did everything they could afterwards to give me a keepsake of my kitty, but ultimately I would not recommend.

We are utterly disappointed with the veterinarian's dishonesty and incompetent medical practice. He failed to disinfect his clinic properly, after he had treated several kittens that had parvo, a highly contagious disease. He should have known that Parvo virus can stay in the room for up to four years or even longer if you did not disinfect the entire hospital properly. He took our kitten to the same room where the other kittens died from parvo. My kitten caught parvo at Alta Vista Animal Hospital. After he charged us over $700 to diagnose our kitten had parvo, he advised us not bringing out kitten to the emergency, because the kitten could fight it on her own, when I wanted to transfer my kitten to the emergency. kittens couldn't fight parvo on its own, because they receive the full strength of shots for parvo in two, and they have to wait for three months to receive the second shot in order to have full immune. During that three months of wait, they are NOT immune to Parvo. Instead

The owner of Alta-Vista Dr Munjal is a bad tempered ill-mannered man that lacks empathy for people and animals. He is quick to judge and when it comes to treating your animal he starts off with blood tests instead of doing a good and thorough checkup. He is motivated by money not the interests of your pet. We had terrible experiences with him and don't recommend his business but if you have to take your pet there I recommend the other veterinarian that works there he is a solid and good man and vet. That also goes for the Action For Animals adoption through his business it is a scam.

I don't get how can someone run a clinic and lie to a custoner just for a couple hundred more. They told me my puppy would require blood work before surgery incase if anything is in the blood that can case the surgery to go wrong. Told me I will be contacted the next day around noon with the blood result. Waited and waited for them to call me but they never did. I had to contacted them. The nice lady who answered the phone was pleasant. She told me the status of my dog and that she was just waking up from the surgery. When I asked her in regards of the blood result she says it hasn't arrive, should be done at 8pm (IT WAS 3PM WHEN I CALLED). Furious as to why they would continue to operate without blood result, I've decided to ask them why when I picked up my dog @6.The guy behind the counter said the results came back and was done at the hospital. When I ask for a copy, how convenient that the printer doesn't work just right after they printed my invoiced. Emailed? Never even got it.

Alta Vista staff and doctor's were very kind and friendly to us.They are providing spaying at such an amazing price.I was worried about my puppy and took her back before her stitches were due out as she had frequent urination.The doctor had us in within 5 minutes and sent us home with more pain medication without charge. I feel so grateful for our experience at Alta and will gladly recommend them to anyone.

I brought my mom's dog in with a cyst that had burst. Dr.Munjal diagnosed cancer without testing, cleaning or really investigating the wound. He did say that it could be a cyst but that it was most likely cancer due to the age of the dog and he then recommended having it removed immediately. I felt pressured to have surgery that day. I did not feel that he did a thorough job of investigating the issue and it really bothered me that he suggested surgery without so much as cleaning the wound to get a good look at it. I sought a second opinion. The second vet, cleaned the area, drained the cyst and gave us instructions on how to keep the area clean.

I have used Altas for all my pets. Last December I had to euthanize my 14 years old cat named Smokey and the staff and Dr. Gill were so sympathetic and caring. You could see that Dr. Gill was upset by this part of his job. When I get a new furry companion I will definitely be taking him or her there again. I highly recommend this clinic.

Have a special needs cat dr Munjal has saved his life more than nine times. Would never take any of my pets anywhere else. His staff are excellent too.

Dr.Munjal is friendly, knowledgeable and cares about your pets! Even though they are located in a wealthy neighbourhood, the services are very affordable and he only prescribes what he thinks is absolutely needed. There have even been times when he hasn't charged for an appointment/medication when other vets would have. Highly recommend this vet!

I have used Alta Vista for years and had nothing but good care. They will see the dogs the same day. When my older dog had bloat, the locum vet diagnosed and operated within 2 hours (Animal Emergency Clinic didn't even have anyone available for 6 hours and she was close to dying). Dr. Munjal spayed my dog and it was the best spay - she was running around within 36 hours - no stitches or staples. Dr.Munjal is the best vet that has been there - I recommend him highly.

I highly recommend Alta Vista Animal Hospital to pet owners because Dr. Munjal is caring and does not charge/persuade for unnecessary things. On my last visit with my cat's urinary problem, I was very pleased Dr. Munjal pays attention to the little details. Its comforting knowing that he doesn't perform procedures unless it's necessary.
