WARNING: If you take your cat to this clinic, ensure Vet Tech Jessica does not go near your cat. I used to work there and saw her mistreat uncooperative cats. She does not like them if they don't cooperate with her - most cats at a vet clinic are naturally scared thus uncooperative. I don't know how she is allowed to continue to work with animals.

After the very sudden passing of our dog, we proceeded with a necropsy to determine the cause of death. For 3 days following our decision to get an necropsy we were pestered with phone calls from this vet as it seemed they had absolutely no clue of what was required for an autopsy. At first we were told we could keep the body for burial and picked a grave site – two days later we were informed she could only be cremated. For 3 days, phone calls continued. After everything was finally sorted, we heard from the crematorium to come pick up the remains before we even heard from the vet for results. After inconclusive results, we proceeded with more testing – given a time-line of 2-3 days; 8 days later and no results I phoned for a follow-up; the request had been lost – but not despite them getting paid. Our entire experience lacked empathy of any sort and their lack of procedures was mind-blowing.

As a medical profession myself I was shocked at how this clinic can operate as it does and prey on people’s love for their pets. Had to get thyroid medication for my cat and the vet( who is the owner I later found out ) wouldn’t give us any unless she could do complete blood profile(250.00) when all he needed was his thyroid test. Our cat was thriving and gaining weight and had no other symptoms. When I guestioned this they said I was being aggressive! Of course tests were all normal and the visit only cost me a total close to $400.00! We have delt with many vets and pets over our many years and never experienced anything like this. They would usually discuss care and listen to what you may wish for your pet. I don’t know what regulations vets have to work under but I always thought they had a work ethic for their profession. This was anything but!!!

If you truly care about the health and well being of your beloved pets, DO NOT EVER for any reason take your pets to this Clinic. The staff are rude and unreasonable, the facilities should be inspected on a regular basis by the Saskatchewan governing board for Veterinarians. On every occasion I have had to bring one of my fur kids to this unethical, money grabbing business, not one of the staff from Vet to receptionist is on time or punctual. If you are someone who does not care how much you spend and what type of treatment your pet is forced to endure, *whether* your pet actually needs tests or not, be ready to a pay extraordinary high fee and bill. Dr. Just and her Vet team and assistants should not be allowed to practice Veterinary care in Saskatchewan. Dr. Just *may have been* concerned for the welfare of animals in the past, she apparently no longer cares about anyone's pets, unless an animal is needing expensive surgery or requiring absurdly expensive testing.

NEVER take your pet here.I have such a long story of my own experience I wish I had the room to explain. They lost track of my dog, did not do the procedure the way I asked and I had asked for a vet to give initial consult but gave me assistant, completely uncaring as I watched a family paying their bill and completely surprised that their dog suddenly had to be put down. The family stood at the front desk where they were told the news and cried. The gal behind desk just did "business as usual" asking for credit card etc. Not one word of sympathy. I watched and cried too. It was heartbreaking. I should have got out THEN. The treatment of my dog was brutal. They had him so traumatized and upset he could hardly breathe when I picked him up. Please just don't even look their way for help.

I would NEVER recommend this clinic !!! Our cat was taken in an emergency sutuation. Was told 1500 upfront or they will not treat. I told them I would have the money within 1.5 hours. They refused to treat the cat. Sherwood clinic accepted the cat and treatment was received there. As this unprofessional clinic states " it's policy ". Money first or we don't treat emergency or not. No waiting an hour for the money !!!

After going to this clinic for 17 years with three separate dogs I am very disappointed with this clinic over the past year. I had a very sick dog and had gone to this clinic 3 times within a 2 week time period. Each time I had a different veterinarian and all I can say is it appears they are in it for the money. They don’t seem to care about the well-fare of my pets. Here are a few examples of how this clinic operates: (1.) They took a sample (fine needle aspirate) of a lump on my dog and did not call with the results. I only received the results when I had to bring my dog back to the clinic within 36 hours because my dog was in a great deal of pain and was not given a cone, medication, or a bandage wrap for the area while became severely agitated after they took a sample from her leg; (2.) the vet offered to provide a referral to the vet school in Saskatoon and gave incorrect instructions. If I had not been a diligent individual, my dog would have suffered for another week because o

First I'd like to sincerely apologize to all those people I have referred to this clinic. The difference in ten years is shocking. I will NEVER EVER refer this clinic again. The diagnosis, wrong. Staff, straight up ignorant and incompetent. The incompetency of this clinic could be the difference in your pets life. Why should anyone accept that it takes a 24 hour emergency care clinic 3 weeks to authorize pain medications for a terminal pet when the vet has the history of the pet, and the medication was already prescribed to the pet BY THIS CLINIC. If your pet matters to you, take them elsewhere. I chose Albert North Vet Clinic for end of life care for my special one after a referral from a friend, and it was an excellent choice.

Beware of their quotes as it may change part way through the pets surgery.. Our daughter was threatened by this clinic by being told that they were going to withhold post surgery meds for her animal if she did not come up with more $$$. After the high quote plus 30% more had been paid. In my opinion based on my experience with this clinic I would never return here ever period. They have our money but not our respect. Do your homework and if $$$ trumps the ethics of any vet clinic well go with your gut feelings. Wish we could rewind this event as we are so stressed out from the callus attitude we received from a particular front end manager. Never again will we be bullied . We trusted them as they are the professionals, we were so wrong. ??

Tears were shed. Was given a dental quote for 1,200 that can go 30% either way. Was called more than half way through to say that $600 more was required to finish the surgery. I said "no" but they didn't like that answer and I reluctantly agreed without knowing about the inial quote (it was a gift from my mom to my dog) At the end my mom told them she would pay no more than the 30% above the quote (she paid $1,600) and Krista (he manager there) said that I agreed to it (what was I suppose to do!?!? I told her I wasn't going to pay and do they want to give me my dog back or no to which she replied "we'll give you your dog back but we are withholding his take home paiN medication and 2 weeks worth of antibiotics (which were free) in the end I paid the rest of the money. TOTAL $1,800. QUOTE 1,200. I've never been so disgusted as to see a vet clinic say they will withhold medication after a surgery to the detriminate of a pet. SHAME SHAME.

HANG ONTO YOUR $. I took my Chihuahua in for stitches, aside from rough-handling her and making me remove the bandage, the doctor was gruff and abrupt. The quote came in at $600+ which included general anaesthetic. The nurse came in and saw the quote, and recommended (off the record) to try TM'Z vet clinic in Lumsden, which I did. They offered local anaesthetic (wasn't offered at the 24HR) and the cost came to HALF THE PRICE. The staff was friendly and the doctor competent, no visible scar now at all. I'm sure the medical care is good at the 24HR clinic, but with the bedside manner of the doctor it felt like I was in a walk-in clinic for humans, except it wasn't free. I highly recommend TM'Z now, it's well worth the 20 min drive!

This place preys on the wallets of the vulnerable. I took my chihuahua in after he had begun limping on his hind leg. Knowing chihuahuas, I know that bad knees and a patella luxation is a very common problem. I went in expecting to hear this was the cause and to be given an anti-inflammatory. Instead, he moved my dogs leg to and fro and went on to tell me that it was most likely a fracture and they would need to take 2 sets of X-rays on top of blood work, yadda yadda which would come out totalling over $500. I immediately questioned the "doctor" bringing up the fact that I knew the breed having knee problems was common and could it not be that? That's when he stopped making eye contact with me and told me I was wrong. He even went to the back for a "second opinion from the neurosurgeon" who also confirmed, yes it was a fracture. Needless to say, I opted to go to my vet for a second opinion. The cause? Patella luxation and a $125 bill for some anti-inflammatory. TRUST YOUR GUT!

STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR PET. The only reason to ever set foot in this place is that they're the ONLY ONE open late. They charge a lot more than the WCVM, they're arrogant, they're rude, they refuse to take suggestions from people who may know a thing or two as well. I am a human surgeon and my fiance is also a physician, and 48 hours ago we watched our previously extremely healthy 3.5 year old Boxer die a disgraceful death bleeding from his mouth and pooping while his heart fibrillated to the end. He had infective endocarditis, which is no fault of the clinic, their incompetence and arrogance in how they worked it up and handled it, is. Dr. Dodd and Dr. Just should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of clinical diligence and "protocol following". Nurses and Tech's follow protocols, Dr's THINK. Dr. Just should be ashamed of herself for allowing her facility to reach this state. Dr. Das is not to be part of this review - he's been great with both our ill dogs. STAY AWAY.

The concept of 24 hour care for our animals is amazing but I have dealt with this clinic since 2006 and have seen it gone downhill during that time. To the point I have changed vets for the sake of my animals. Spent $1500 to find out that they didn't know what was going on and the only thing to do was start over. A simple fecal float indicated Giardia. Dr. Just discounted enhancing wholistic treatments such as Reiki as something that makes the owner feel better vs helping the pet. All living creatures deserve wholistic care. She did a barbaric 4 paw declaw on her daughter's older timid cat. I would not have adopted the cat to her had I known they declawed. This is asked during signing the contract so the daughter lied. And a 4 paw is almost unheard of and barbaric. Dr. Just in 2011 also said my cat needed a dental. I got a 2nd opinion in 2014 and they said not for about a year. Clinic seems more interested in $ vs care. Staff at times aren't always the most respectful either.

worst clinic I have ever been too. when I took my rabbit who has chronic pasturellosis to this clinic when she had stopped eating and my vet was out of town the vet took her temp by spinning the thermometer in the air (???) then gave me 1 week of meds and told me to come back in a week....uuuhh the treatment for pasturellosis is a MINIMUM of 30 days of meds, he charged me full price for a full exam plus meds ($120) then forced me to come back a week later for a second full exam plus 1 more week if meds and so on.. as soon as my vet was back I transferred treatment to her...she gave me 1 month of a new medication (the batril was not working) did a full real exam and charged me $20...total. then recently my friend took her puppy to this clinic and had to listen to the vet scream at her that she's a horrible person and all her animals should be taken away from her because she could not identify the STRAY dog that attacked her dog.

I had booked our bunny in to be nurtured before I had ready any of the reviews on this vets. I was very nervous after reading such negative feedback. I must say our experience was positive. We thought we had a male bunny, they rang to say he is a she and that the procedure would cost more. We always knew a spay was more expensive. We thought we would get his nails cut while she was under, they quoted us for this procedure. When we picked bunny up we were surprised to find that the nail cutting was complementary, especially after people said they are a money grabbing practice, they could have easily charged us as we were expecting to pay for this service. They provided an aftercare sheet and thoroughly explained what we needed to do over the next couple of weeks. We were pleased with the care given to our bunny.

Oh my God! Same thing happened to me! They said my cat was running a temperature, then needed blood tests. 'She screamed behind closed doors like I've never heard her! He came out saying she needed to be sedated ($75) more. The estimate was already $320. He would NOT let me come in to calm her down. $400 later, they found nothing and told me to make sure she would drink water at home. Phoned my regular vet the morning after, she said by the sound of things, she is a young kitten and very resilient anyway and probably just with a virus that would go on its own anyway. Considering it's an indoor cat and quite young, there was no need to perform blood test on the spot. THIS IS A RIP OFF AND WILL NEVER TAKE MY CAT AGAIN THERE! I have seen a few vets for my cats in my life, but never encountered staff as uninterested as this, except for the money.

I've been to this vet many times, sadly. It's a last resort. Everytime was horrible, money grabbing physopaths. Dog had a blocked anal glad that resulted in a cyst... Ok got that popped for 400.00 including exam, bloodwork, and some tests. About three weeks later dogs cyst comes back. This time my regular vet was open. Find out my PITBULL most common dog to have thyroid issues, most commonly associated with blocked anal glands has indeed a thyroid issue. Why wasn't this detected at 24hr vet clinic?? They ran the tests, took my money. Not only paid 400.00 for a finger up his ass to unclog it. But only paid 75.00 at my regular vet. The joke is if it's an Emergancy we are screwed with this being our only 24 hr vet.

Like others have mentioned, the first priority of this clinic is to make money. I have brought my dog here twice after normal hours and both times the staff steered me towards the most expensive route without giving me any other options. The first time I went there my dog tore her ACL and after spending over $600 to get a diagnosis, the vet told me that I needed to get reconstructive surgery within three days which is not true. Secondly, she went in there with a bloated and upset stomach. After x-rays and an overnight stay I received a call saying that even though she was doing much better she should go on IV for the day ($700) and if she is not 100% by the next day, exploratory surgery($????). I immediately got my dog that morning and went to my normal vet clinic who completely disagreed with those options and prescribed some medication which cured the problem at less than 10% of the price.

Very diaappointed with this clinic. I paid over 600 dollars and they don't know whats wrong, but for another 500 they will monitor her...just feel they only cared about how much more money they could get out of us...going elsewhere before I lose my puppy!

Just awful! We brought our beloved dog in so they could watch her overnight because she had a ruptured ulcer. They did not pay close enough attention to her and she aspirated causing her to develop pneumonia which contributed to her death. We could have done a much better job at home. After all of this they had the nerve to charge over a thousand dollars for their services. On top of it all they were cold, rude and uncaring. Unbelievable! If you have any choice at all do not go to this clinic.

I agree with the last rating here. VERY expensive & their first priority is money. The times I went in or called, I was met with rudeness 75% of the time. The vet told me "this is how it is" and had no intention of listening to what I had to say. After the insane amount of money I spent, I am no further ahead than when I started. Actually my pet is now sicker! But they are willing to see my pet again & do more tests! What happened to actually caring for animals & treating the pet owner with respect? I am very disappointed in this clinic & would not recommend it.

My experience with this hospital was very poor as well. I feel my cat was not given the best chance possible under Dr. Tudor's care. Even though it was 24 hr care Dr. Tudor seemed too busy to give him the proper care, attention and treatments necessary. It is very hard to forget how the Doctor communicated with me through this as well.
