Click to report rating    2/15/25   1     4     4     3   WARNING: If you take your cat to this clinic, ensure Vet Tech Jessica does not go near your cat. I used to work there and saw her mistreat uncooperative cats. She does not like them if they don't cooperate with her - most cats at a vet clinic are naturally scared thus uncooperative. I don't know how she is allowed to continue to work with animals. RID: 71214

Click to report rating    1/7/20   1     1     1     1   I am very disappointed with this clinic. They are all about the money and are twice as much as any other clinic. I wouldn't say they are the friendliest bunch of people either. The diagnosis I got from them is not what I got from another clinic which totally made me feel welcomed and that they cared about my family pet. 24HR then gave me meds which I was supposed to give my sick animal, instead of giving them one shot that lasts 14 days and which wouldn't stress me or my animal out. The visit there costed me the same price as the surgery at another office. If I would have had the surgery at 24HR it would have costed me twice as much if not more. Personally I was very disappointment. I will not be going back. RID: 68947
Click to report rating    6/23/19   5     5     5     5   Thanks to Dr. Bonnie McNary, Syd the Cattle Dog is pain free and happy, almost like a puppy again. Can't say enough good things about this vet. RID: 68164
Click to report rating    1/7/19   1     1     1     1   Bullies is all I can say! Worst Vet experience of my life. After medical emergency @ 2:30 am brought us here I found myself bullied for 1.5 hrs (my cat NOT being treated for his emergency in the meantime) because I would NOT agree to their entire $2000 "recommended" treatment plan(which you have to pay upfront no matter what is done) They used techniques like sending in the receptionist to be aggressive, guilt, manipulation & refused to listen to me. As far as I know I live in a Democratic Society and have the Right to choose! In the meantime, he needed a catheter to drain his bladder(which I approved) that was being withheld while we argued about money. At one point I motioned with my hand to the receptionist to calm down & stop speaking to me the way she was. So imagine my surprise to receive a letter from Dr. Just today telling ME I'm NOW banned from the clinic! I guess she doesn't like people who DONT succumb to their abuse. Look at ur processes/reviews & CHANGE! Ur the problem!!!! RID: 67198
Click to report rating    6/19/18   1     1     1     1   We called the clinic and brought in our dog for the very first time and initially the receptionist was nice and answered our questions. We were seen by the vet who made recommendations of what we could do at home.Upon leaving we were slammed with an $89.00 annual checkup fee,We were never at this clinic before and came because our original vet was all booked up! The receptionist told us to speak with management Management came out and tried to explain that the fee is applied to all services, even though nothing was done. They threatened to call the police if we did not pay and said it would be considered a theft. We were also told we are no longer welcomed back! This is an HORRIBLE clinic! Receptionist and mangement are especially rude. Would 100% never recommend this clinic to anybody! RID: 66340

11/14/17   1     2     1     1   After the very sudden passing of our dog, we proceeded with a necropsy to determine the cause of death. For 3 days following our decision to get an necropsy we were pestered with phone calls from this vet as it seemed they had absolutely no clue of what was required for an autopsy. At first we were told we could keep the body for burial and picked a grave site – two days later we were informed she could only be cremated. For 3 days, phone calls continued. After everything was finally sorted, we heard from the crematorium to come pick up the remains before we even heard from the vet for results. After inconclusive results, we proceeded with more testing – given a time-line of 2-3 days; 8 days later and no results I phoned for a follow-up; the request had been lost – but not despite them getting paid. Our entire experience lacked empathy of any sort and their lack of procedures was mind-blowing.  11/8/17   5     5     5     4   Aside from a few issues I have with some pricing, I have never had a poor experience with any of the doctors or staff at this clinic. They have always listened to what I had to say, never given me an incorrect quote, always show concern for my pet and not tried to force any tests or procedures on me. I had a cat with a string plugging his gut that required x-rays and then surgery. There was a long stay in the hospital afterwords as they tried to get him eating again. The bill was around $2000 but at no moment was I worried that I was not getting my monies worth. He was monitered hourly by the staff to make sure he didn't pull out his IV and check vitals and after hearing stories from other people about animals dying in other clinics after hours I wasn't going to take that chance. The alternative would have been to but him down, which for me was just not an option. I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination but to have my baby back was worth it. I bring all my animals here:) RID: 65015
Click to report rating    10/26/17   1     4     2     1   As a medical profession myself I was shocked at how this clinic can operate as it does and prey on people’s love for their pets. Had to get thyroid medication for my cat and the vet( who is the owner I later found out ) wouldn’t give us any unless she could do complete blood profile(250.00) when all he needed was his thyroid test. Our cat was thriving and gaining weight and had no other symptoms. When I guestioned this they said I was being aggressive! Of course tests were all normal and the visit only cost me a total close to $400.00! We have delt with many vets and pets over our many years and never experienced anything like this. They would usually discuss care and listen to what you may wish for your pet. I don’t know what regulations vets have to work under but I always thought they had a work ethic for their profession. This was anything but!!! RID: 64938

5/28/17   1     1     1     1   If you truly care about the health and well being of your beloved pets, DO NOT EVER for any reason take your pets to this Clinic. The staff are rude and unreasonable, the facilities should be inspected on a regular basis by the Saskatchewan governing board for Veterinarians. On every occasion I have had to bring one of my fur kids to this unethical, money grabbing business, not one of the staff from Vet to receptionist is on time or punctual. If you are someone who does not care how much you spend and what type of treatment your pet is forced to endure, *whether* your pet actually needs tests or not, be ready to a pay extraordinary high fee and bill. Dr. Just and her Vet team and assistants should not be allowed to practice Veterinary care in Saskatchewan. Dr. Just *may have been* concerned for the welfare of animals in the past, she apparently no longer cares about anyone's pets, unless an animal is needing expensive surgery or requiring absurdly expensive testing. Click to report rating    3/20/17   1     1     1     1   NEVER take your pet here.I have such a long story of my own experience I wish I had the room to explain. They lost track of my dog, did not do the procedure the way I asked and I had asked for a vet to give initial consult but gave me assistant, completely uncaring as I watched a family paying their bill and completely surprised that their dog suddenly had to be put down. The family stood at the front desk where they were told the news and cried. The gal behind desk just did "business as usual" asking for credit card etc. Not one word of sympathy. I watched and cried too. It was heartbreaking. I should have got out THEN. The treatment of my dog was brutal. They had him so traumatized and upset he could hardly breathe when I picked him up. Please just don't even look their way for help. RID: 63093
Click to report rating    11/14/16   1     2     2     1   I would NEVER recommend this clinic !!! Our cat was taken in an emergency sutuation. Was told 1500 upfront or they will not treat. I told them I would have the money within 1.5 hours. They refused to treat the cat. Sherwood clinic accepted the cat and treatment was received there. As this unprofessional clinic states " it's policy ". Money first or we don't treat emergency or not. No waiting an hour for the money !!! RID: 62007

7/27/16   1     2     1     1   After going to this clinic for 17 years with three separate dogs I am very disappointed with this clinic over the past year. I had a very sick dog and had gone to this clinic 3 times within a 2 week time period. Each time I had a different veterinarian and all I can say is it appears they are in it for the money. They don’t seem to care about the well-fare of my pets. Here are a few examples of how this clinic operates: (1.) They took a sample (fine needle aspirate) of a lump on my dog and did not call with the results. I only received the results when I had to bring my dog back to the clinic within 36 hours because my dog was in a great deal of pain and was not given a cone, medication, or a bandage wrap for the area while became severely agitated after they took a sample from her leg; (2.) the vet offered to provide a referral to the vet school in Saskatoon and gave incorrect instructions. If I had not been a diligent individual, my dog would have suffered for another week because o RID: 61209

11/9/15   1     3     1     1   First I'd like to sincerely apologize to all those people I have referred to this clinic. The difference in ten years is shocking. I will NEVER EVER refer this clinic again. The diagnosis, wrong. Staff, straight up ignorant and incompetent. The incompetency of this clinic could be the difference in your pets life. Why should anyone accept that it takes a 24 hour emergency care clinic 3 weeks to authorize pain medications for a terminal pet when the vet has the history of the pet, and the medication was already prescribed to the pet BY THIS CLINIC. If your pet matters to you, take them elsewhere. I chose Albert North Vet Clinic for end of life care for my special one after a referral from a friend, and it was an excellent choice. RID: 58909

4/23/15   1     4     2     1   Beware of their quotes as it may change part way through the pets surgery.. Our daughter was threatened by this clinic by being told that they were going to withhold post surgery meds for her animal if she did not come up with more $$$. After the high quote plus 30% more had been paid. In my opinion based on my experience with this clinic I would never return here ever period. They have our money but not our respect. Do your homework and if $$$ trumps the ethics of any vet clinic well go with your gut feelings. Wish we could rewind this event as we are so stressed out from the callus attitude we received from a particular front end manager. Never again will we be bullied . We trusted them as they are the professionals, we were so wrong. ?? RID: 56766

4/23/15   1     3     1     1   Tears were shed. Was given a dental quote for 1,200 that can go 30% either way. Was called more than half way through to say that $600 more was required to finish the surgery. I said "no" but they didn't like that answer and I reluctantly agreed without knowing about the inial quote (it was a gift from my mom to my dog) At the end my mom told them she would pay no more than the 30% above the quote (she paid $1,600) and Krista (he manager there) said that I agreed to it (what was I suppose to do!?!? I told her I wasn't going to pay and do they want to give me my dog back or no to which she replied "we'll give you your dog back but we are withholding his take home paiN medication and 2 weeks worth of antibiotics (which were free) in the end I paid the rest of the money. TOTAL $1,800. QUOTE 1,200. I've never been so disgusted as to see a vet clinic say they will withhold medication after a surgery to the detriminate of a pet. SHAME SHAME. RID: 56754

3/3/15   2     4     4     1   HANG ONTO YOUR $. I took my Chihuahua in for stitches, aside from rough-handling her and making me remove the bandage, the doctor was gruff and abrupt. The quote came in at $600+ which included general anaesthetic. The nurse came in and saw the quote, and recommended (off the record) to try TM'Z vet clinic in Lumsden, which I did. They offered local anaesthetic (wasn't offered at the 24HR) and the cost came to HALF THE PRICE. The staff was friendly and the doctor competent, no visible scar now at all. I'm sure the medical care is good at the 24HR clinic, but with the bedside manner of the doctor it felt like I was in a walk-in clinic for humans, except it wasn't free. I highly recommend TM'Z now, it's well worth the 20 min drive! RID: 56110

12/24/14   5     5     5     5   This clinic is by far the best one I have been to with my pets in Regina. The price may be a little higher than average but the 24hr care they give is worth it. My dog was seen by Dr Verhelst for a stomach upset, who was compassionate, friendly and very thorough in regards to the treatment of Buddy. I was very satisfied with my treatment here and would definitely recommend this Vet to anyone. RID: 55165

7/13/14   1     1     1     1   This place preys on the wallets of the vulnerable. I took my chihuahua in after he had begun limping on his hind leg. Knowing chihuahuas, I know that bad knees and a patella luxation is a very common problem. I went in expecting to hear this was the cause and to be given an anti-inflammatory. Instead, he moved my dogs leg to and fro and went on to tell me that it was most likely a fracture and they would need to take 2 sets of X-rays on top of blood work, yadda yadda which would come out totalling over $500. I immediately questioned the "doctor" bringing up the fact that I knew the breed having knee problems was common and could it not be that? That's when he stopped making eye contact with me and told me I was wrong. He even went to the back for a "second opinion from the neurosurgeon" who also confirmed, yes it was a fracture. Needless to say, I opted to go to my vet for a second opinion. The cause? Patella luxation and a $125 bill for some anti-inflammatory. TRUST YOUR GUT! RID: 52542

5/25/14   1     2     2     1   STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR PET. The only reason to ever set foot in this place is that they're the ONLY ONE open late. They charge a lot more than the WCVM, they're arrogant, they're rude, they refuse to take suggestions from people who may know a thing or two as well. I am a human surgeon and my fiance is also a physician, and 48 hours ago we watched our previously extremely healthy 3.5 year old Boxer die a disgraceful death bleeding from his mouth and pooping while his heart fibrillated to the end. He had infective endocarditis, which is no fault of the clinic, their incompetence and arrogance in how they worked it up and handled it, is. Dr. Dodd and Dr. Just should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of clinical diligence and "protocol following". Nurses and Tech's follow protocols, Dr's THINK. Dr. Just should be ashamed of herself for allowing her facility to reach this state. Dr. Das is not to be part of this review - he's been great with both our ill dogs. STAY AWAY. RID: 51768

4/29/14   1     4     1     1   Our cat had a urinary blockage - we brought him in to be told he could not be seen until 4-6 hours later. When we came back we only saw vet techs and they basically told us his chances of a good quality of life were limited. This forced our hand to choose to euthanized him, rather than pay 1500 for surgery/tests and food. I feel that staff were not very knowledgeable and in retrospect wished I asked to see the vet before making a final decision. There is nothing worse that having doubt about your decision to end the life of your much loved pet. I will never visit this vet again because they were not even professional enough to be clear about the outcome of the surgery and essentially forced us to choose between life and death for our cat in about 10 minutes. Also, they were unwilling at all to discuss possible options. This is the height of unethical behavior, and vets like this should be not be allowed to practice. RID: 51285

3/9/14   2     4     3     1   The concept of 24 hour care for our animals is amazing but I have dealt with this clinic since 2006 and have seen it gone downhill during that time. To the point I have changed vets for the sake of my animals. Spent $1500 to find out that they didn't know what was going on and the only thing to do was start over. A simple fecal float indicated Giardia. Dr. Just discounted enhancing wholistic treatments such as Reiki as something that makes the owner feel better vs helping the pet. All living creatures deserve wholistic care. She did a barbaric 4 paw declaw on her daughter's older timid cat. I would not have adopted the cat to her had I known they declawed. This is asked during signing the contract so the daughter lied. And a 4 paw is almost unheard of and barbaric. Dr. Just in 2011 also said my cat needed a dental. I got a 2nd opinion in 2014 and they said not for about a year. Clinic seems more interested in $ vs care. Staff at times aren't always the most respectful either. RID: 50405
Click to report rating    2/18/14   1     1     1     1   Worst veterinary experience I have ever had. Do NOT recommend this clinic to anyone! Avoid if at all possible. RID: 49906
11/24/13   1     3     1     1   worst clinic I have ever been too. when I took my rabbit who has chronic pasturellosis to this clinic when she had stopped eating and my vet was out of town the vet took her temp by spinning the thermometer in the air (???) then gave me 1 week of meds and told me to come back in a week....uuuhh the treatment for pasturellosis is a MINIMUM of 30 days of meds, he charged me full price for a full exam plus meds ($120) then forced me to come back a week later for a second full exam plus 1 more week if meds and so on.. as soon as my vet was back I transferred treatment to her...she gave me 1 month of a new medication (the batril was not working) did a full real exam and charged me $20...total. then recently my friend took her puppy to this clinic and had to listen to the vet scream at her that she's a horrible person and all her animals should be taken away from her because she could not identify the STRAY dog that attacked her dog. Click to report rating    10/9/13   2     3     3     1   The experience with this clinic has been very disappointing. My dog needed eye surgery for a scratch on his cornea. He had the procedure done twice at the clinic and it never got better. They kept bringing him in for follow up which they charged for each time. I paid a large amount of money with no improvement. One trip to the vet college in Saskatoon solved the problem and it cost substantially less. I wish I would have done this sooner. I would have saved my dog a lot of pain and myself a lot of money. Click to report rating    8/31/13   4     4     5     5   I had booked our bunny in to be nurtured before I had ready any of the reviews on this vets. I was very nervous after reading such negative feedback. I must say our experience was positive. We thought we had a male bunny, they rang to say he is a she and that the procedure would cost more. We always knew a spay was more expensive. We thought we would get his nails cut while she was under, they quoted us for this procedure. When we picked bunny up we were surprised to find that the nail cutting was complementary, especially after people said they are a money grabbing practice, they could have easily charged us as we were expecting to pay for this service. They provided an aftercare sheet and thoroughly explained what we needed to do over the next couple of weeks. We were pleased with the care given to our bunny. RID: 46666

8/22/13   1     3     4     1   Oh my God! Same thing happened to me! They said my cat was running a temperature, then needed blood tests. 'She screamed behind closed doors like I've never heard her! He came out saying she needed to be sedated ($75) more. The estimate was already $320. He would NOT let me come in to calm her down. $400 later, they found nothing and told me to make sure she would drink water at home. Phoned my regular vet the morning after, she said by the sound of things, she is a young kitten and very resilient anyway and probably just with a virus that would go on its own anyway. Considering it's an indoor cat and quite young, there was no need to perform blood test on the spot. THIS IS A RIP OFF AND WILL NEVER TAKE MY CAT AGAIN THERE! I have seen a few vets for my cats in my life, but never encountered staff as uninterested as this, except for the money. RID: 46474
8/18/13   1     3     1     1   I've been to this vet many times, sadly. It's a last resort. Everytime was horrible, money grabbing physopaths. Dog had a blocked anal glad that resulted in a cyst... Ok got that popped for 400.00 including exam, bloodwork, and some tests. About three weeks later dogs cyst comes back. This time my regular vet was open. Find out my PITBULL most common dog to have thyroid issues, most commonly associated with blocked anal glands has indeed a thyroid issue. Why wasn't this detected at 24hr vet clinic?? They ran the tests, took my money. Not only paid 400.00 for a finger up his ass to unclog it. But only paid 75.00 at my regular vet. The joke is if it's an Emergancy we are screwed with this being our only 24 hr vet. RID: 46366
Click to report rating    7/22/13   1     1     1     3   Took my 18 week old kitten there who was very sick, throwing up and looked to have a fever as well as shivering. They took the kitten out of the room to weigh him and take vitals, which seemed weird as it was the only vet clinic I have ever seen do this. Dr. Just came in, was very short with us, and was rough with our kitten. Told us he had a fever and would try blood work. So we said ok, the estimate they gave seemed reasonable. So again they came and took my kitten out of the room (again, unusual for us). Next thing, I hear my kitten crying and almost screaming through a closed door from another room. Not 2 minutes later someone else comes in and says, "he is pretty worked up, we cant get him to stay still to take a blood sample, can we gas him to settle him down?" They hadn't even poked him yet! They wouldnt let us try to keep him calm, it was they gas him away from us or cant be done. Made us feel very uneasy! I WOULD NOT TAKE MY PET BACK NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! RID: 45748
Click to report rating    7/12/13   2     2     3     1   Like others have mentioned, the first priority of this clinic is to make money. I have brought my dog here twice after normal hours and both times the staff steered me towards the most expensive route without giving me any other options. The first time I went there my dog tore her ACL and after spending over $600 to get a diagnosis, the vet told me that I needed to get reconstructive surgery within three days which is not true. Secondly, she went in there with a bloated and upset stomach. After x-rays and an overnight stay I received a call saying that even though she was doing much better she should go on IV for the day ($700) and if she is not 100% by the next day, exploratory surgery($????). I immediately got my dog that morning and went to my normal vet clinic who completely disagreed with those options and prescribed some medication which cured the problem at less than 10% of the price.  6/20/13   5     5     5     5   I have known Dr. Just for over 25 years. She has worked very hard for the welfare of animals. She worked for many years on her own, no one to cover for her on weekends or evenings, yet taking her turn on call for other clinics. If there were a choice of Fantastic I would have chosen that. Many people not realize that a doctor of veterinary medicine has the same education as a doctor of human medicine and more again if they specialize. It saddens me to hear people complain of the cost to give the care needed for their pet they are suppose to love and it demeans the doctor who has given so much of their life in education because they want to care for these beautiful creatures. Think of what it would cost if we had to pay for our health care here in Canada. It would be a heck of a lot more than it costs for what we pay for our pet at the vet's. Thank you to all the staff for all the love and care you give and to those that do appreciate what you do. Shirley Schaeffer, Regina RID: 43232

Click to report rating    7/4/12   1     1     1     1   Just awful! We brought our beloved dog in so they could watch her overnight because she had a ruptured ulcer. They did not pay close enough attention to her and she aspirated causing her to develop pneumonia which contributed to her death. We could have done a much better job at home. After all of this they had the nerve to charge over a thousand dollars for their services. On top of it all they were cold, rude and uncaring. Unbelievable! Click to report rating    1/22/12   3     2     1     1   I rate this clinic, actually the vet Dr Jamie Tudor as being very insensitive to the clients and animals needs. Also, Dr Maria Just is insensitive , was to me anyways as a client. My dog had, had a seizure and I took her in to recieve help. The protocol for when a dog has had a seizure is that the vet is required to do blood work on the dog before a decision is made as to what will be the next step taken. Dr Jamie Tudor didn,t even ask me if I wanted to pursue any kind of treatment or not. She just said to me I would suggest euthanasia. I didn,t want to have her euthanized but I did, because I felt that they she didn,t want to take the time to help me or talk to me. When I said I didn,t know what to do, she didn,t even bother to say to me are you sure or we can do blood work or I could try something. Just right away said given all the medication she is on and it is hard to tell and her heart is beating rapidly but she offer any bloodwork. She didn,t respect my feelings at all, I said RID: 31707
Click to report rating    1/18/12   3     4     3     1   I have been taking my dog to this Clinic since Oct. 2009. Up till the present time care was good. However my last phone call to get a prescription renewed for a small chronic incontinence issue resulted in my being told I would have to bring in my pet for an exam before I could get the prescription filled. I told them there was nothing new wrong with the dog but that I just needed the pills. They advised me I would not get the pills unless I agreed to bring the dog in for an exam. The last annual exam was conducted July 23, 2011. I am disappointed with this turn of events and I am actively pursuing additional follow up action. RID: 30662

The times I went in or called, I was met with rudeness 75% of the time. The vet told me "this is how it is" and had no intention of listening to what I had to say. After the insane amount of money I spent, I am no further ahead than when I started. Actually my pet is now sicker! But they are willing to see my pet again & do more tests! What happened to actually caring for animals & treating the pet owner with respect? I am very disappointed in this clinic & would not recommend it. RID: 29451
Click to report rating    7/31/11   2     3     2     1   This was the most unfeeling vet clinic I have ever been in. When you have to pay before they will even look at your pet that says a lot. Extremely expensive, and that seemed to be all they cared about was getting their money. First. Then the pet health came next. My poor dog was so sick and they gave two scenarios, a cheaper one and a more expensive one. You had to pay up front before they would start either. I will not go back there and will not recommend it. Luckily my dog made it and I would spend the money again to save her but not there. RID: 26620
Click to report rating    7/17/11   1     3     3     1   My experience with this hospital was very poor as well. I feel my cat was not given the best chance possible under Dr. Tudor's care. Even though it was 24 hr care Dr. Tudor seemed too busy to give him the proper care, attention and treatments necessary. It is very hard to forget how the Doctor communicated with me through this as well. RID: 26288

Click to report rating    12/14/09   5     5     5     5   I called this clinic at noon and got an appointment for the same day. The exotics vet, Dr. Jamie Tudor, was very knowledgeable about rat medicine, and treated my 2 boys with great care and a gentle hand. This was much appreciated, as they were rescue rats who had been horribly traumatized in their prior home. The examination was extremely thorough and included a detailed history-taking for both boys. Dr. Tudor recommended a dual antibiotic therapy for mycosis infection, and a tech ran the price by me before any medication was prepared. I was only charged exam fee for one pet. When I told Dr. Tudor I was a nursing student, she treated me as a fellow medical professional, while at the same time respecting my feelings as a pet owner. I was impressed with the whole experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this vet for the treatment of small mammals. RID: 15772
