I have moved twice over the past few years due to work. I find that the fees at capeside are less than the vets I used when I lived in Charlotte and Raleigh. In addition I have been very pleased with Dr. Hanby. She truly seems to care about my Springer Spaniel, and has been very informative during my visits over the past two years.

Super Over Charge for tests! $151 blood test here cost $90 at other vets. Tick test here $189 other vets $44. Staff completely unwilling to work with you on billing issues. Suspected they might be over charging me, but staff refused to issue an itemized bill of charges. Guess I was right! If you thinking of going to this vet, prepare to pay, a lot!

I took my cat to Hanby to have his teeth removed. He has an immune system that was rejecting his teeth and this was the last chance to help him. She did not do, nor suggest having dental x rays done first. She drilled out many (most) of his teeth and he, once again, has an infection. It is likely she left some roots in before she stitched him up so now I have to get him dental x rays and more surgery if roots are found. Also, when I picked up my cat (one day after admitting him) he had a gash in his side (don't know if he was manhandled or someone got careless with a knife) that required vet attention, antibiotics and 2 weeks with a cone on his neck to prevent him from licking the wound. Needless to say, I did not return to Hanby and never will. IMHO she is the worst vet in this area.

We took our dog to Dr. Sheila Hanby (Owner) only for him to be MISDIAGNOSED, treated with medicine too strong for his body (that worsened his condition), all while we were being majorly overcharged. Dr. Hanby is unknowledgeable and apparently money hungy. We now are forced to put our dog down.. so thank you Dr. Hanby for making him suffer even more. Would NEVER RECOMMEND this vet to anyone!!! WORST VET IN THE AREA.
