Dr. Star was supposed to fix our dog's Cherry Eye. He charged us $575 for the procedure and our dog had major complications. We took him to another vet who had to anesthetise him again, to see why the eye was so swollen and infected. Turns out instead of replacing the gland, he took the lazy way out and removed the gland completely and never told us. Not only is this an unethical shortcut, but he charged us $575 for a surgical "correction" and didn't do it. Now my dog needs to go through more testing on his eye to see if he will need eye medication for the rest of his life. Besides the obvious discomfort and potential blindness issues for our pet, his actions will now cost us literally thousands of dollars in medication over the course of our dog's life. We will be writing to the state and local veterinary board associations to request an investigation of this clinic's practices and if need be pursuing litigation.
