I took my ACD, (aka Healer), in to Dr Fenster for a 2nd opinion, because my baby-girl (she's 6-yrs old) was still caughing about every other day or so; a deep hard cough from the chest. The 1st vet said it was allergies & said to give her cough syrup daily. We tried that mess for a week or so, but she didn't improve. The 1st time Dr Fenster treated her very tenderly & talked to her softly to sooth & calm her down. He checked her out, took an X-Ray of her chest & checked for heart-worms. His conclusion was she has Asthma/Bronchitis. He gave her a shot of cortisone & handed me a bottle of prednisone. Doc told me to give her 1-pill every other day until she was down to 1-pill a week. She seemed to heel quickly after the shot and no more coughing. I took her back in for a X-up & started her on heart-worm meds. Now my girl has been OK and playing hike with her ball as hard as ever. Hopefully I will have many more yrs with my ACD!
