I took my Bijon/Maltese cross to Dr. Chambers for several years.Initially I felt Dr Chambers had great concern for her and she gave treatment options that were affordable, but then Dr. Chambers stopped giving options and did treatments and surgeries that were excessive and a detriment to my dog's well being.I felt I was being gouged as after dental surgery at VPH where unbeknownst to me she removed most of my dogs teeth she asked me to pay over the highest quoted price of $1800.00.I was upset because when I asked how my dog would eat without teeth she laughed and said somehow they manage. Well my dog never managed.I have spent the last years since surgery trying to prepare her food so she can eat without difficulty. My dog is an alpha. When challenged by another dog she bared her gums to protect herself to no effect. She hid behind me and her confidence has never been the same. she stopped smiling. I wish I had never trusted Dr. Chambers even though she is a very capable surgeon.

Dr. Chambers & Dr. Grant have both been wonderful and caring doctors during this time with our dog Willie. The staff at the Royal Oak Clinic are amazing! The follow up phone calls prove that they are compassionate about their clients. Much appreciated! Barbara

Dr. Chambers is the Best! Her caring, compassionate and respectful approach is very much appreciated. She is always up to date on current techniques and treatments and offers well educated options that are always in the best interest of my pets and my wallet and our family. Her support staff are approachable and knowledgeable as well. The friendly atmosphere makes visiting the vet pleasurable, even when we are very worried for our pets. The clinic is clean, organized and well maintained. I highly recommend The Royal Oak Pet Clinic.

We went here for the first and LAST time with our first dog 6 years ago. At the time our GSD was a pup at 8 weeks and had behavioral fear issues and needed training and socialization right away, and we notified them of this. All we wanted was to get her shots done, but because our pup was not eating and was not feeling well they recommend that she was on some sort of stomach medication.. And they "highly, and strongly suggest" our dog needed to be healed before getting her shots and that we should stay away from dog parks and such. This was a big problem as we needed our pup to get into puppy classes ASAP. And because we didn't have the papers for her shots we were unable to attend classes. Of course we take some blame but regret because we didn't know any better and should have looked more into it. This was unfortunate because she was around 6 months before we could start any classes and in the meantime our pup grew to become fearful-aggressive because of the lack of socialization.

Dr. Chambers claimed 4 puppies in our litter had “dental” issues and wanted to perform surgery at 7 weeks of age to extract baby teeth. I told Dr. Chambers I would be seeking a 2nd opinion and she quickly started “back-pedalling”. She claimed other Vets would “over-look” this dental issue. We had 2nd and 3rd opinions from other Vets claiming the puppies did NOT require surgery. Dr. Chambers was also quick to book an unnecessary c-section. She claimed the puppies would be too big to deliver naturally. Thankfully puppies arrived naturally, a few hours prior to the scheduled c-section. These puppies were much smaller than Dr. Chambers led us to believe. We find she is too quick to book unnecessary surgeries (she performs these surgeries at the Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital).
