Dr. Michelle Lareau, DVM is very caring and compassionate. I also found the vet assistants and front desk staff very kind, compassionate, and understanding. Our dog Teddy had 2 operations , multiple blood and urine tests and an MRI. I have found Dr Lareau's assessments of Teddy to be very thorough and her approach to Teddy's health care excellent and practical. She suggested the recommended tests or procedures in steps. Reviewed the results , explained to me things I didn't understand and talked to me about what should be done next. Each step of the way I asked for a her recommendations and also asked for an approximate cost for each procedure. Dr Lareau and the staff always called to follow up with me on Teddy's health after the operation and how he was doing on his medications. I even received some complimentary food for Teddy to try too!
I highly recommend Central Saanich Animal Hospital

Excellent care and service from staff and doctors. Dr. Lareau provided superb care for our animal: very knowledgeable, clear and concise, caring. In particular did a very good job of explaining and exploring (less expensive) diagnostic and treatment options.

The staff at this place are very sweet and try super hard to make the clients happy! I was very happy to see that the front receptionist's were very helpful and happy to see me and my pet in the clinic. I will say that there "cleanliness" of their exam rooms was not very "up to par" there was dirt all over the chairs in the room, the room smelled of urine, and there was blood on the wall. But other than the room I was in being gross, I was very happy with their service. The doctor was very nice along with the front end staff.

Always excellent service and friendly staff. Everyone is welcoming and caring. We've been bringing our pets here for over 20 years, and have never once considered going anywhere else. Dr. Shaw always explains things in plain English so that we can understand what is going on. We are totally happy with being clients.

They say pets are our passion ? What a joke. Our experience with this pet hospital was horrific at best. Big cash grab. Brutal.

This is without doubt the best vet we have ever had: competent, compassionate and caring. We love their commitment to the best possible outcome for our companion animals.

Fantastic staff and knowledable vets. They keep people there all the time so it's not just avet on call with a pager or something. They can do a lot right at the hospital too, more than most vets.

This is a great vet hospital. All the staff - from reception, techs, drs, and assistants... everyone was so helpful and caring! Very knowledgable staff, if unsure of an answer, it gets figured out promptly. The hospital is always clean and tidy. Sometimes appointments are delayed, but we are always aware when that is the case and how long it will be. Lots of handy reading material for any situation your pet may present. Overall, a great place to take our furry family members to for care!

I have never met a kinder, more professional vet than Kris Anderson. She truly cared about my beloved 18-yr old cat over the few years she knew him. She provided us with expert care that was considered, reasonable and most importantly in the best interest of the animal. He lived a happy last 2 years because she was so knowledgeable about kidney failure and so willing to give him her very best all the time. Her bedside manner with people is as good as her bedside manner with her patients, which speaks to her compassion and kindness. One of the other vets in the clinic is not friendly at all, and while she may be competent, I would never go back to see her because her bedside manner was awful.
