9/9/17   4     5     5     5   Dr. Catherine Miller is a knowledgeable, thorough and compassionate veterinarian. I trust her with the care of any of my pets! RID: 64621
Click to report rating    8/8/17   1     3     1     1   Totally in it for the money, zero compassion and rude receptions also without any compassion what so ever for myself or my very sick and dying cat........would not advise anyone to go to this clinic, there is an amazing new vet at the bottom of Royal Oak, half the price and an incredible vet. RID: 64383
Click to report rating    3/22/16   3     3     3     1   We own a ten year old cat that had swelling on its face and an obvious tooth issue. took it to them in Feb. of this year and paid$123.00 for a dental exam .. it was dental exam month and all other vets were doing them free.. asked why and they said they were not a sponsor of dental health month. They quoted us $2300.00 plus 230.00 for blood work to remove TWO(2)teeth. Took our cat to another vet for an exam which was free they said. That's how I found out about dental health month. They quoted $1500.00 but didn't have an xray. How they do extractions without one beyond me.A firend told me about Carstairs vet. emailed them for a guess they got back to me next day. Took the cat there March 22 . Blood work 6 teeth removed. The reminder scaled polished. drugs for pain two tins of food. Total $952.00. Wow nice people no bull professional.Take you loved pets to Carstairs. Royal Oak is a money hungry rip off. Didn't used to be but they are now.Space does not allow me to tell the whole story RID: 60094
Click to report rating    1/6/16   5     5     5     5   Dr. Miller and her team have been providing our senior dog the very best quality care we could ever hope for. Dr. Miller is a great listener as well as being very compassionate. She is receptive to our views and concerns about potential courses of treatment, and she takes her time to counsel us about what our dog is going through. We are very relieved that we have Dr. Miller with us at this very sensitive and critical stage of our dogs life. We highly recommend this clinic. RID: 59430
Click to report rating    4/17/15   5     5     5     5   Dr. Miller, Dr. Cooney and the entire staff of Royal Oak Vet are amazing. They take the time to explain exactly what's going on, go over options and give you the time to come to a decision. I would not take my dog to anyone else. The price is about average and worth every penny. RID: 56688
Click to report rating    3/6/15   5     5     5     5   Awesome clinic! They recognize my dog by name when we walk in and truly care about his wellbeing. Catherine is an awesome vet and really knows her stuff! RID: 56182
Click to report rating    1/7/15   1     3     3     1   We took our new kitten that we got from Pets for Life for its initial checkup in October of 2014. (cost of $225.72) At the time the new kitten was aggressively scratching his ear. We asked Dr Miller to check for ear mites - she took a quick look and said she didn't see anything. So the cat was not treated on the first visit. A few months latter and the kittens ear smelled bad so my wife took him in again for a second look. We got a $245 dollar bill to treat the ear mites... If Dr Miller hadn't been too busy trying to sell us other stuff on the first visit maybe she could have checked for the ear mites properly and we would not have had the second visit and the cat would not have had to deal with the discomfort for as long as he has had to. We will be looking for a new vet the next time we need to take our cat in for care. I called and asked for some of my money back - which they refused - they actually were shocked when I told them we would be looking for another Vet... RID: 55358
Click to report rating    11/3/14   5     4     5     4   Just brought my new kitten for her first vaccines and exam. It was costly but worth it. I feel like there was a lot of information given to me but they answered all my questions, took their time to get to know me and my new kitten, examined her from head to toe, she did have some ear mites which they found in the microscope, had to pay for additional test for it but at least I know my kitten will be "bug" free with the treatments I went home with. RID: 54409
Click to report rating    10/14/14   3     2     1     1   Just in it for the money. I'll never go back. I was treated like an idiot, and felt bullied into making decisions on the spot for which I really needed more time. RID: 54075
7/30/14   3     3     3     1   This place is nice looking. People are friendly. But they try to get every cent if you possible. Told me my puppy at 2 months has cataracts wanted to run tests. Dog was dewormed two weeks before but apperantly needs deworming again. I was quite shoked to see the estimated bill of 400 instead if 85 i planned. Thry wanted to send stool sample out to check if there r wotm and parasites but treat at same time. Wanted to do two eye tests and treat eyes. And set me up to expect dentistry bill cause they can predict in future teeth will be bad. When i said no to most things i was looked at like im a criminal. I got second opinion and my puppy is fine!!! RID: 52832
3/6/14   1     4     4     1   Felt like a walking bank machine in this vet clinic. Our first visit Dr.Miller screwed us out of getting pet insurance by writing stenotic nares-the puppy was 8 weeks old-honestly can you give her time to grow and see! Then she returned for ear reddness, they ran a scrape test to rule out something but after all that money and the test coming back negative they said you should treat her anyway-so why did you run the test? The puppy was 8 weeks old and healthy but Dr.Miller was painting this horrible picture of needing to see specialist after specialist ($$$$$$$) Puppy had a umbilical hernia and I was priced close to 200 dollars on top of her spay fees to fix this-went to the amazing vet at rocky ridge pet hospital and the fee was $75!! The puppy is happy and healthy and I would never recommend royal oak vet clinic unless you want to be a walking bank machine!!! RID: 50347
Click to report rating    10/2/13   3     3     5     1   We went there for the first time today, with our new puppy. They are very costly and I spent 20 mins with the vet and 60 mins with an asst who insisted I needed to change our food to one that was sold at the clinic, pressure for buying pet insurance with their recommended company - and even a recommended pet store? I'm not sure what this hour sales pitch had to do with my puppies health, but I paid dearly to hear it. Very overpriced clinic. And was pressured to return the next day with for a $75 dollar procedure that after getting a 2nd opinion was not needed at all. I felt I was pushed into booking the next appointment on the spot, which I will be cancelling. I wished I had researched it a little more before before booking. RID: 47358

5/24/13   5     5     5     4   I have taken my dogs to this clinic for 7 years. I love how much time the vets spend with me and my dogs, we are never rushed and they listen to all I have to say. They are very thorough, so sometimes that can get pricey, but I appreciate that they check everything out. Dr. Kristi is the vet I see most often and she is a FANTASTIC vet, extremely caring and loves dogs. The staff here is great - vets, receptionist and technicians. RID: 42680
Click to report rating    1/10/13   1     5     1     1   If you want to keep your pet alive do not take them to Royal Oak Vet Clinic at Country Hills Blvd. We saw Dr. Catherine Miller just once for about five minutes in a two week span and our dog was really sick. We kept calling the office but to no avail. They never returned calls. After two weeks our dog had to be put down. And most of the info i had to learn online because was never told important things. I would never go back to that place ever again if i get another pet.It was a very bad experience plus she was so rude on the phone the day my dog had to be put down. No compassion whatsoever. RID: 39548
Click to report rating    5/14/12   4     4     4     1   Staff is very friendly and nice but I do feel at times they are mostly concerned about money. I have been often recommended procedures that I didn't think were necessary in hindsight. I love my pet but I would prefer a vet who could also recognize budgetary restrictions as well. Prices seem really high compared to other vets. I am considering if I will continue to take my pup here. RID: 34235

Click to report rating    2/18/10   3     3     3     1   I went there one time and never went back. They wanted to do over $2000 worth of work on my dog. Got a second opinion from another vet and it only cost me $200 (big difference). RID: 16667
Click to report rating    1/13/10   1     3     3     1   Unfortunately, we felt like a big wallet walking into Royal Oak Vet. Dr. Miller wanted to surgically remove baby teeth from our puppy. We felt "bullied" into agreeing to book the procedure. Thankfully, we found two other Vets who told us the baby teeth did NOT need to be extracted. Our puppy is now a healthy 3 year old with no dental issues. RID: 16128
