Click to report rating    3/2/20   5     5     5     5   Wild Rose Cat Clinic is amazing - the best in the city for taking care of our feline family. Very considerate, thoughtful (of cats and their humans) and take very good care of the animals. I will never forget the kindness and consideration the staff showed us in the care of our kitty, Fuzz and in his final moments. RID: 69094
Click to report rating    6/3/18   1     4     2     1   The owner of this clinic (DVM Liz Ruelle) is very rude to cats, especially to the ones that are not very friendly to strangers and scared in the clinic. Basically, she mostly cares about money, and she will do anything for it - for example, euthanizing healthy cats because of behavioral issues that can be "fixed" using positive reinforcement and other methods; she was doing until recently or maybe still does declaw cats - very painful surgery that is destroying the cat's health and often the cause of urination outside the litter box and excessive biting; forcing the cat owners for unnecessary vaccinations and forcing them to buy cat food "approved by veterinarians" that is basically full of harmful ingredients, etc. She can also be very bad to people - there are many that had bad experience with her. These are only few examples, but there are many more! RID: 66262

1/16/18   5     5     5     5   we would not take our two cats to any other veterinary clinic. The treatment are cats have received here has been exemplary. Dr. Ruelle takes time to explain all details pertaining to treatment and is very thorough. The staff are all very friendly, caring and compassionate. would recommend Wild rose Cat clinic to anyone wanting caring, kind and thorough treatment for their cats RID: 65389
Click to report rating    12/1/15   3     3     3     3   It looks like my original truthful however negative review has been removed from this page. I was chastised by the vet for making a review. What is this page good for then. Certainly not all experiences at every facility will be positive. One would hope that the facility would learn from negative comments to better facilitate owner and vet. Of most importance - to better facilitate care of the cat! As mentioned in the original review - which has been removed - this office does okay when the cat is well. When the cat is sick - in my case - not so much. I have had a negative experience with this clinic. RID: 59128

Click to report rating    3/28/15   5     5     5     5   Thank you very much to everyone that works at Wild Rose Cat Clinic?. Especially Dr. Liz Ruelle & Dr. Stephan Porostocky who gave me amazing mentorship and guidance over the last 2 weeks. As a new graduate of veterinary medicine, the specialized feline care that they offer was great to experience. Their dedication to their patients and clients despite juggling very busy lives was inspiring. Thank you again for hosting me, I hope I can use the good advice and experience to help my feline patients in the future. Best of luck with the new baby, new clinic, and many new kitty friends that will benefit from your care. Helene Childs (WCVM 2015) RID: 56438
Click to report rating    11/15/14   5     5     5     5   This is without a doubt the best veterinary clinic I have ever dealt with. I was surprised to read the poor rating below; I too was required to utilize emergency services for one of my kitties; however, Dr. Liz and team were fabulous with the follow-up (in fact the emergency clinic had made an error in dosage of a Rx). It is very difficult when one loses a beloved pet -- I`ve had to say goodbye to two of my babies, and I am grateful for the compassion and kindness shown by Dr. Liz and her team. I trust them 100%, they are fabulous! RID: 54633
Click to report rating    11/14/14   5     5     5     5   I have been bringing my kitties to this clinic for 5 years now and I would like to disagree with the last review. Everyone is friendly, accomodating and the atmosphere is inviting and professional. Dr. Liz Ruelle's incredible thoroughness and detailed explanations of everything is wonderful. Patient care at this clinic is top notch, and my cats are always happy. Last spring we lost our 18 year old girl. She very quickly went from an arthritic but happy old kitty to having serious health issues which Dr Liz and Dr Stephan immediately supported us on. They explained the possible causes the tests and the risks. We tried a few options with surgery as the last. The day before surgery she spent the night on fluids and meds to be monitored. We visited the day of but found her in a fast and hard decline. She waited to say goodbye. The staff were heartbroken like us. They had done all that could be done and taken good care of her. I don't blame them for her passing I thank them for their care. RID: 54621
Click to report rating    11/2/14   1     1     1     1   this clinic treated my cats for many years. My last kitty had stomach troubles for many years, and when he became sick this time because of their scheduling I had to make numerous visits to an emergency clinic. Any suggestions the emergency vet had- xray, ultrasound I had to insist my vet do. any suggestions the emergency vet had in regards to diagnosis or diet, the vet mostly ignored. I had to fight to get an xray and ultrasound, and in the end because of their scheduling and my work schedule I yelled at them until they sent the results to the emergency clinic. My cat was pooing blood. The last visit to the emergency clinic, because my cat had stopped eating, they found me an emergency consultation with a specialist and he found lesions-scar tissue in his colon. Having any bowel movement was causing my cat horrible pain. He is dead now. the vets at wildrose failed me from the beginning. RID: 54395
Click to report rating    8/22/13   5     5     5     5   We took our cat Mia here when we moved into the area. Our little gal was not the friendliness of cats (she only liked my husband and me and noone else could get near here). Add in the stress of going to the vet and she was not pleasant to put it mildly. We had been to a few other clinics where they basically didn't want to deal with us. But not here. Right to the end they were all always very lovely to her. She would be snarling and trying to bite them and they were calm and collected. Just before my daughter came they worked with us to try and bring her anxiety under control, working with us for over a year and taking my teary phone calls when something else didn't work. And they were there when we had to make the decision to euthanize her because she just was not a happy girl anymore. The staff here was nothing short of amazing. They always treated us all with a great deal of compassion. I wish we could bring our dog here! Thanks Dr. Ruelle. RID: 46443
Click to report rating    3/11/13   5     5     5     5   This is a truly exceptional practice, and I particularly appreciate that it's a cats-only practice. Dr Ruelle has proven herself to be a gifted diagnostician and always takes time to explain test results and her conclusions very carefully. She's seen my cats through several health crises and she's earned my respect and trust. She keeps up to date with all the latest research, and she and her staff truly care about the wellbeing not only of their patients but also of their families. Test results are always communicated swiftly and we always get a follow-up call to check on our cat's wellbeing after a vet visit. The highest compliment I can give Dr Ruelle and her wonderful team is that I entrust the wellbeing of my feline family members to them and wouldn't dream of taking them anywhere else. RID: 41005
Click to report rating    1/30/13   5     5     5     5   This is the by far the best vet experience I have ever had. All the staff was friendly and they are very reasonably priced. Dr. Liz is very knowledgable and was great with my cat. We will be taking our other cat there very shortly for a check up. I do recommend this clinic to everyone who loves their feline friends. Click to report rating    1/17/13   5     5     5     5   It was all very clean, and the staff professional and friendly. I was feeling welcome as soon as I called and felt comfortable with the care of my fur babies(cats). It was clear they care about clients as well as the kitties. Also a cat committed vet was what I wanted! Spay and Neuter your pets please! RID: 39689
Click to report rating    8/20/12   5     5     5     5   I was at my wits end with a hyperthyroid cat. He had the I131 injection to try and combat the disease which failed. He proceeded to drop more than 2 kilos within a few months and was not eating or drinking. Dr. Ruelle and her staff brought him back from the brink and he is now a happy healthy cat who can enjoy his remaining years. I highly recommend this clinic as the staff are wonderful and Dr. Ruelle always takes the time to follow up and is very good at explaining in plain English what is going on. RID: 36681
Click to report rating    7/23/12   5     5     5     5   The next day we brought our cat home from Humane Society, my cat had very bad diarrhea. I took him to the vet, they did couple tests. I had to pay $250 the first visit. They didn’t do anything to help the cat diarrhea, just asked me to switch to different cat food and wait for the test result. Couple days later, the vet called me and told me the test result didn’t show any diseases. She wanted to do more testing. She gave me list of testing which would cost around $400. She kept calling me. Her wordings made me felt guilty by not bring my cat to her for immediate treatment. With that much money, I would have to look for other alternatives. Fortunately, I found Dr. Liz Ruelle. She knew right the way what needed to be done. The next day after we saw her, my cat was getting well and I certainly didn’t need to pay that much money. When I ran out the pills for my cat, I just called them and they had it ready for me to pick up. Dr. Ruelle was very patient to reply my email and e RID: 36002
Click to report rating    6/16/12   5     5     5     5   We chose this clinic as our cat does not do well around dogs and its relatively closer to our house than our old vet. Our cat is having some weight issues and we took her to Dr. Ruelle for the first time yesterday. Her and her entire staff were incredibly friendly and patient even though our cat is probably one of the most difficult, aggressive, and nervous cats ever. Not once did they ever make us feel bad that our cat pooped and peed all over their floor from nerves. Dr. Ruelle was very thorough and explained everything to us in detail. She gave us the impression that she does this for a living not to get rich but because she actually really loves and understands cats. The amount we paid for the complete examination, some grooming, a medium bag of pet food and all the pain and hassle my cat put her through was WAY lower than we expected. She even gave us a free bag of treats for the fist visit. RID: 35011

9/22/11   5     5     5     4   I wish I could find a vet for my canine like Dr. Ruelle. I started taking my cats to this clinic before Dr. Ruelle took over and I would have given a 2 or 3 rating at that time. But since Dr. R has been there I am so thankful she is the doctor for my cats. Compassionate, knowledgable, explains everything, I am always present when procedures are done and assist with the process so I know how the cat is taking the treatment. All the other ladies at the clinic are helpful and compassionate. So happy they are there for us. RID: 27818

5/6/11   5     5     5     5   We have been taking our cats to this clinic for several years now, first working with Dr. Phipps and now Drs. Ruelle and Van Winckle. We found ALL clinic staff to be top notch: compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled. When I needed to learn how to give fluids under the skin, Jamie taught me a method much easier than I was shown, helping me feel much more confident in my ability to provide this necessary service for my cat. One of our cats is a high-needs kitty and the other is 19, so both need more than just regular checkups, often on an emergency basis. We appreciated the referrals to specialists when necessary to help diagnose and treat our special companions. The staff and doctors have never failed to provide great care, often going above and beyond to do so. Please keep up the good work, folks! RID: 24836

Click to report rating    4/4/11   5     5     4     4   4/4/11: This is in response to the rating written on 3/30/11 from someone who may have the wrong clinic! I am a client with 2 cats who goes to Willow Park Feline Clinic and I personally know for sure there is NO vet at that clinic by the name of Dr.Roulle! Now, at WPFC there IS a Dr. Elizabeth RUELLE, who is also the practice owner and the doctor my cats usually see. Now, going by your comment date of last Wed.Mar.30th...well, I myself went into the clinic last week on Tues. March 29th/11 and was told hmmm...."Dr. Ruelle is on vacation and OUT OF THE COUNTRY....until next week, returning back to the clinic for regular appointments on Tues. Apr. 5th/11!!" So I think some clarification on your comments are much needed here!! And, f.y.i....'MY' Dr. Ruelle is a great understanding, supportive, compassionate vet...so I think YOU are speaking of the wrong clinic!! Signed 'pardon me!' RID: 24105
Click to report rating    3/30/11   3     5     5     2   Dr Phipps has taken great care of my kitties for the past 10 years. It's just recently I went in for assistance and Dr Roulle refused to do what Dr Phipps has done for us in the past 10 years. She went on to judge without looking at my cat's files, she didn't listen to me and blamed me for a condition that my cat's had since he was a kitten. I felt horrible after speaking to her, I was extremely disappointed, frustrated and will never go back there again. RID: 23968
Click to report rating    3/28/10   5     5     5     5   I have been a client of this clinic for 11 years and have had nothing but exceptional care and attention. I have a very high needs cat who requires regular and extensive medical care-Dr. Phipps and now Dr. Ruelle have treated my cat and myself and family with patience, respect and friendship and we are incredibly grateful. I would (and have!) recommend this clinic to anyone in the Calgary region with a cat they love. RID: 17274
Click to report rating    3/23/10   5     5     5     5   I would highly disagree with the first rating. The staff is fantastic at this clinic. They truly care about the welfare of the pets and the pet owners. Janet knows all of the clients and is so incredibly helpful, and the vet techs Peggy and Jamie are wonderful. Both Dr Ruelle and Dr Phipps take the time to make your pet feel comfortable and make sure that they are doing what is in the best interest of your cat. My cat has a number of problems with allergies, and just recently had his teeth cleaned. He had to have a few teeth pulled due to cavity's, and Dr Ruelle actually gave me her cell number to call if I had any issues. She also spent almost an hour, after hours to talk to me about my cat's care. The prices are very reasonable, and they do wonderful things for cats in need. My last vet would charge me $30-40 to get my cat's nails clipped, and they charge $7 and it all goes to charity. Anyone would be lucky to have either Dr Ruelle or Dr Phipps as their vet, I know I am. RID: 17193
Click to report rating    3/1/10   1     1     1     1   This clinic is horrible. They are not good with the animals and extremely rude with owners. They proceeded to grab my cat by the throat and jabbed two needles into her. They would not let me hold her or wrap her in a towel. They seemed to be surprised when the poor cat freaked out by this treatment in in turn got bitten for their cruel handling. They took FOUR days to give us blood test results which were in the following day but they refused to give us any results because of the cat bite. This cat was not eating or drinking and they didnt care. Of course we switched vets and all of a sudden the heath inspector is calling because the vet reported the cat because we switched vets after their cruel treatment. So if you want your cat treated properly Go elsewhere because these people dont care if you cat lives or dies and they sure as heck dont care about the people. This clinic should be shut down and will be reported to the Alberta Vet Board. RID: 16832
Click to report rating    1/19/10   5     5     5     5   Staff is extremely friendly. I was greeted as soon as I came in. Atmosphere was calm and my kitty enjoyed the dog free environment. Dr. Ruelle was fantastic. She seemed caring and compasionate and had a genuine interest in the well being of my cat. She takes the time to explain what was going on with my cat (vomitting) and to explain the choices I had for treatment. This is a cat only office, so I felt that they understood cat health problems better than a multi-animal office. I will be returning! RID: 16211
