3/20/17   1     1     1     1   Zero stars. This vet wants only your money. He charged me $200 extra for random test he said my dog needed that he didn't. RID: 63079

9/9/14   5     5     5     5   I had to take my 5 y/o pit bull rescue here after hours due to an allergic reaction to Proin. She loves humans, but still has fear aggression issues as a result of her past life as a bait dog. I'd called them twice before I actually brought her in and they were great with walking me through what I should look out for/when to make the call to bring her in. When I called the 2nd time to let them know I was en route and to give them a heads up that Maia didn't do so well with other animals they were completely understanding and even met me outside when I got there, asked the other folks in waiting room to move their dogs to the far side so I could go straight to an exam room without interference. That definitely helped both of us! While the whole treatment took about 2hrs from start to end, that's understandable as her vomiting stopped and wasn't urgent compared to other animals being treated during witching hours! RID: 53470

9/5/14   5     5     5     5   I came across this hospital a week ago. It's a big hospital, the interior is modern and clean. I brought my dog here for vaccinations and was blown away by the service. I walked in the front door and the receptionist smiled and asked how I was and what brought me in today. I was put into an examination room. The doctor walked in to give my dog the vaccines, my dog didn't even cry at all. I was impressed. The doctor was very kind and loving. While I was leaving the receptionist told me that because I was a new client, my first physical examination was free. I saved $40 which was nice. Great service, I would recommend it to everyone. Prices are also reasonable. RID: 53421
Click to report rating    8/18/14   1     1     1     1   Awful , overcharging and do not care about animals . went in for my dogs shots told them he was to be neteured by laser the next day for half of what they were charging for the surgical. I had done my research lazer was less painful and heals faster. The boundary hospital did not have the equipment to do laser. When I told the vet this, they BEGGED me to let them nether my dog. They told me they would do the vaccines, surgery and microchip him for the same price. We agreed . when it was time to remove the stitches they left half of the stiches in by neglect and we didnt catch it to he started chewing his skin. They billed us more than what he had sold us on. We stopped taking our cat and dog there. We go to another place that is half the price ,twice the quality and doesn't push pointless tests that they never give results for. I have a few horror stories from this place but I will leave it at that. RID: 53127
Click to report rating    6/7/14   1     3     2     1   They sell expired medicine and no apology at all. Even worse, the staff's attitude is rude and bad RID: 51990
Click to report rating    5/7/14   5     5     5     5   I recommend Dr Kassam to all my friends and family. I have been dealing with Dr Kassam and staff for 14 years. Dr Kassam and staff couldn't have treated me and my sweet little Chihuahua Alexandra any better. The staff were always polite and they never made you feel like you're bothering them - especially on how many times I would call when I had to leave my little Alexandra with the them for a medical treatment. When Alexandra passed away (March 25, 2014) I couldn't believe how compassionate they all were with me and my family that day. I will never forget their kindness. I just want to say that I had absolutely no problems or regrets dealing with Dr. Kassam and staff. I felt Dr. Kassam always took that extra step to make things right me and Alexandra. Thank you all!      4/10/13   5     5     5     5   We recently moved to Vancouver with two elderly dogs. Both have had numerous medical issues and I have had experience with both routine and emergency situations at this vet. I could not recommend them more highly. The staff is without exception kind and compassionate and they have provided excellent care for our dogs. Recently we had an emergency situation late in the evening. Doctor in the hospital felt that our dog should be at the emergency clinic supervised by a veterinarian throughout the night. He contacted the clinic on our behalf and talked to the vet to ensure that he had all of the information necessary for his care. The next day we had to move him to the critical care unit. Doctor called me throughout the day for progress reports and very kindly helped me to make the necessary decisions. He called in the days following to see how we were. I cannot imagine how much more difficult this would have been without his help. RID: 41682
Click to report rating    10/25/12   1     1     1     1   This is a poor management vet hospital. They only care about the money. They do not have the heart to take care your pet. Never try to bring your pet there to do proper treatment. When they lost your pet, they only claim your pet is wild. They will not do action on the following. Typical the reception nurse has a ver bad manner. My strongly recommadation is never try to use this clinic. RID: 38089
Click to report rating    10/23/12   1     2     2     1   I brought my cat [who is large and strong] in for treatment for ear mites and they told me he had a lot of them and he needed an ear flush. When I came back an hour later, my cat could barely move. I pad the $385 and took him home. After 3 days of him not moving much, not eating or defecating, I took him back. The Vet looked in his ears and said he was fine but just reacting to the sedative. After 3 more days of my cat not moving much or eating or defecating, I took him to an Emergency clinic. They told me that my cat had a ruptured ear drum. It seems that the vet Dr. Kassam ruptured his ear drum and also used sedatives in addition and different than the ones he billed me for. When I complained to Dr. Kassam he said that the cat must have had ruptured ear drum when I brought him in. This is ridiculous since my cat jumped to the top cabinet to escape when I brought him in. This vet communicates poorly, refuses to take responsibility for his mistakes, and charges for unnecessary work. RID: 38037
Click to report rating    9/18/12   3     3     3     1   I went in for first shots for a kitten and they found ear mites. After showing me in the microscope what the mite looked like, they proceeded to tell me they were going to start the treatment immediately. I told them to wait while I looked over the invoice and spoke with my partner about it. The total treatment was going to cost just under $500, and this being my first cat, I was concerned for her safety and wanted the best, but thought $500 was pretty steep. I told them I couldn't afford that right now and they asked what I could afford. Telling them I could afford roughly $200 the vet tech said she could work something out, but it wouldn't clear the problem. I told them thanks, paid for the smear and left, determined to find another solution. I did, found out she didn't have them nearly as bad as the vet claimed and the problem could be solved with a popular, safe drug called Revolution. Total crooks trying to take advantage of a first-time owner. RID: 37279
Click to report rating    3/15/12   3     5     5     3   I have been taking my Cat to this clinic since he was born. Every time I take him, I think "maybe this time it will be better" but it never really is. He has had 3 surgeries here and although the treatment given was very good, the vet does not provide any advice on prevention and not very detailed information on the problem's cause. One instance had my kitten spitting blood due to a medication given right in the clinic and they had no idea what was going on! Just blamed it on "stress" although it was later determined that it was in fact caused by the medication. They also misquoted me one of the surgeries by +$1000. The reception staff is also not very organized and I have had to call back a few times for some things. They are very friendly, but not very useful. RID: 32915
1/16/12   1     1     1     1   Took my dog in for a routine exam and shots. The vet pressured me to get blood work and a urine analysis on top of that, which I did (extra$182).The vet called me the next day to say all the results were good. However, my dog ended up getting a urinary tract infection somehow, maybe from being shaved improperly and improper insertion of catheter for the urine test (he was licking constantly, and couldn't walk) and when I went back, they said he already had the infection and then said the urine test showed it (COMPLETELY contradicting what the vet said earlier). On top of that, they were going to charge me for medications to help him heal.My dog has never had an infection before I find it hard to believe he happened to get one on the day they performed a urine test on him.I am so disappointed with the lack of professionalism and service here I will not be taking my dog back to see them. I no longer trust their capabilities and ethics when it comes to their veterinary practices. RID: 30600
Click to report rating    12/4/11   5     5     5     4   We adopted a kitten 5 years ago.took him to a local vet who was very rough. We then took our kitten to PetCetera and were amazed at how caring everyone was -the front desk the attendants -were wonderful - The Vet could not have been more perfect -he was so caring, so gentle and kind. we felt we had found a safe place. Click to report rating    11/9/11   2     2     3     3   I had been taking my cat to this vet office since before it moved and became Boundary Animal Hospital. On my very last visit with the vet he found that my cat was underweight but instead of actually explaining to me what was happening he took my cat for blood tests and had assistants hold my cat down instead of asking me for permission to sedate my cat, thus traumatizing my cat. I had no doubt that my cat had a medical reason for being underweight but I would have liked the vet to explain to me what was happening. I also did not appreciate the vet bringing my cat out into the open waiting room out of his carrier where there were other animals and an open door where he could escape and than what angered me most was the receptionist grabbing him by the scruff. I have no issues when it comes to money, my cat is part of my family and we are willing to go leaps and bounds for him but I do have issues when my cat is mistreated. RID: 28991
9/27/11   5     5     5     5   I've known the same Veterinarian for so long and he's very caring. I had to leave my dog overnight due to diarrhea and dehydration and at all times they were in communication with me. next day he was himself again and he was diagnosed and under treatment for Clostridium Perfringens. I don't mind spending money on the animal that I accepted responsibility for and it's ridiculous that the only thing that these people on this website have commented on is MONEY and how much they've spent on their very sick animal! THIS IS HORRIBLE! I'm so sorry for your poor animal that their care-taker is looking for the cheapest hospital to treat their animals, probably a immigrant Vet who offers cheap medication 'nd cheap treatments because they don't speak English! RID: 27942
Click to report rating    4/25/11   1     4     1     1   I brought my cat in with some concerns over bleeding and cat ****. We were told that she had to be sedated for clearing of her anal glands and could be picked up in an hour. Shortly after leaving, we were asked to leave her overnight for a whole bunch of tests. They misdiagnosed her and we paid $500 for the tests. After paying the bill, it took continous pressure to get the test results. We were told they could not figure out what was wrong with her and that sometimes medicine is mysterious. On top of this, they told us they had not gotten back to us because they were waiting on some test results- for a test they charged us for and never even took! They didn't offer to refund our money for a test not taken- I had to demand it! When asking the vet questions, he closed the door and told me I was attacking him and 'questioning his ivy league education.' This guy is clearly not a professional! I brought my cat to another vet after and they iagnosed her in an hour and payed only $125! RID: 24604
Click to report rating    1/26/10   2     3     4     2   This chain advertises a kitten program where you enroll your kitten and for a set price you will get all the procedures (vaccines, check ups, neutering) for a set price. Before enrolling, I called around and found the price to be competitive, so I went ahead. I got a different vet every time I brought my cat in. The appointments were generally very brief, with not a lot of information offered. Finally, the visit just before the neutering, the vet tells me about all of this stuff I should really get done that isn't included in the 'all inclusive plan'. Such things include pain medication administered after neutering, blood tests that other vets tell me is not necessary etc... The final bill came to about $160 more than they had originally quoted.
