Very happy with the care over the years. We have two dogs and Dr. P and Alice have always been very attentive and both dogs trust and love her. They actually look forward to visiting the office. Our one passed away this past year, and they were incredibly compassionate. I am a nurse and often have a lot of questions, and Dr. P has never had any issues with either calling myself or taking my call with questions that my husband may not remember, and taking the time to speak to me, or showing me the x-rays and discussing them fully with me. She is professional, open in her communication, and very responsive, and respectfull of our opinions and wishes. When one dog dislocated her hip on a day when she and Alice were on their way to a conference, they turned around and attended to our needs ASAP rather than send us to the emergency clinic, and several times they have called to follow up with both dogs at home as well. Dr. Portolesi and her tech took such good care of my pup when neutering. They were gentle and caring. Each took turns with my pup after the surgery, not leaving his side for at least 1 hour while he was on his IV. Very pleased with the professional, courteous manner with which they handled my precious little friend.

My animal got better immediately after switching him out of ida portolesi's care. We were long time clients. Back when Beresford was in charge, things were good. Beresford was a good surgeon and was a straight shooter. ida's only goal is to con you out of all of your money. She gives false diagnoses, medications animals don't need and she attempts to instill fear in her clients in order to manipulate them into pouring your money into her clinic - which she can't seem to keep well-kept, it seems I was one of only few who fell for her scam. Do not trust this vile woman. She does not care about your animal, she only cares about making rent this month. Her vet tech is no better - she is rude and fails miserably at pretending to be genuine. One of my animals died under the care of this hospital, cancer that should have been diagnosed long before it was spotted. I believed it was an innocent mistake. When my second animal was in crisis, I jumped ship on instinct and have never looked back.

The staff didn't show any care and love to my cats and it is expensive. They require a full check up on my cat and it cost $800. Once we said it is too expensive, she give us a impatient face and try to sell the whole package again and again. At the end, she is not able to take 1 X-ray out of my cat and need to stabilize my cat. Then the estimate go up to $1100. We just pay the vets $80 for first exam and walk out of door.

I have mixed feelings about this clinic. One of the secretary knows nothing about her job, and it's usually the vet tech who does the secretary's job. Though friendly, they are all there for business. Check ups, meds, & procedures are VERY pricey, & they kept urging you to buy this & that product (also very pricey). The place is dirty & the equipments are old, but the vet there is very skilled at her job. Neuter surgery was done very well. They'll keep telling you to go back for multiple, unneccessary check-ups (you need to pay a $47+tax fee for only a 2 min check-up). The vet is always late & the vet tech is not all that friendly. They're good at what they're doing, but I just wish that they're more reasonable about their price & are not there to just rip all your money out of your pocket. They need to stop recommanding expensive stuff to us! I will probably change to a better vet.
