Click to report rating    12/5/16   1     2     2     2   Have been coming to this clinic for years and buy all of our dog food and flea/tick products here. Initially found it a very warm and welcoming clinic and the vets were great. Recently took my senior dog in for number of issues and saw two different vets for same. One vet was clearly incompetent, on her laptop the entire time. The second vet knew right away what the problem was. Came in a few more times and was not notified the dogs would soon need a vaccine and yearly exam. After receiving notice in the mail the same week I had one dog in, I called to ask why I was not told during my recent appointment. Got he run around and was treated poorly by both the receptionist and office manager. Will be switching to a clinic with better customer service record. Dr. Osborne is great and I wish we could continue to see him, but I refuse to deal with the office staff. RID: 62128
Click to report rating    4/21/16   1     4     3     1   I was a client of Don Slaunwhite for 11 years. Since I got my first puppy in Nov of 2003. I knew him from our children playing hockey together. All this time I was a loyal client. I only seen Dr Bishop about vaccines because I disagreed on yearly shots and for nutritional councelling as I would not feed the dry food the clinic sells. It is not quality food. On the 11th of 2015 I took Linus in because his leg had swelled and he was limping. He had a lump in his leg area but he was covered in lumps and cysts that had been tested and found benign. Don did a biopsy and sent us home to wait. Through the night the needle site slowly split and Linus started to bleed...slowly at first. I bandaged it but it split more. By morning it started to bleed a lot and I rushed Linus back to Don. He told me Linus's biopsy was negative so he would remove the tumour and call me when done. I also asked him to remove another surface lump and left. When I picked Linus up Don told me he had bad news. He sa RID: 60357

3/11/14   1     1     5     1   I am very disappointed with this clinic. Rude receptionist and some vets do not seem to know what they are doing. Also found the clinic dirty and smelled of cat pee in the examination rooms. RID: 50430

2/27/13   1     3     1     1   we have been taking our pup here for years, but over the past couple of years there has been a drastic staff change. we have recently changed vets due to this. their main concern seems to be money, with no proper care for the animals at hand. my last visit i felt pushed aside, and uncomfortable. the veterinarian herself doesn't seem confident in her knowledge and i seem to be talking in circles about issues with my pup. i have heard more and more terrible stories throughout my community as of recently. i do not recommend this place to anyone that truly values their pet, unfortunately.  2/26/13   1     1     1     1   We had asked for a treatment for a mild rash that our cat had (clearly stating that he was very old, so we wanted to use the safest antibiotic possible). The vet advised a steroid shot stating that the worst side effects were weight loss and thirst. Later that week he wasn't interacting and was clearly in pain. We brought him in right away. They told us that he had gone into diabetic shock, and that this was very common from steroid shots. We were not told about this "common" side affect. They took him that night, and stated that they would tend to him first thing in the morning. We got a call the next AFTERNOON to get there quickly because he was dying. When we got there we found out that no treatment was done because they assumed that we couldn't afford it. We then demanded treatment. It was too late for him. After we paid for his cremation, they refused to give him to us until we paid the full vet bill. Months later we have him now, but still being denied a meeting with the owner. RID: 40718
Click to report rating    12/30/12   1     1     1     1   Gone to this vet a few times since I got my dog, shes almost 2 years old, and has something wrong with her stomach, every time I bring this up with them and what shes going through ect, I go around in circles. They have not done anything to help her, only want to put her on meds, no tests ran, also one doctor almost broke a needle in her, Bad vet, would never go back. RID: 39309

Click to report rating    1/20/12   5     5     5     5   Amazing staff and amazing vets! I've always been impressed by their helpfullness and comapssion for animals. I think people that give bad ratings here are just mad that something happened to their pets that they couldnt control or fix... It's easier to blame the vet than take any responsibility I guess RID: 31680
9/1/11   1     1     1     1   My family has been going to this vet for 11 years; our first encounter was very good. Good service, good knowledge. Dr. Slaunwhite saved our Poodle from having to be put down. This year we took in a new pet, and have come to realize that the staff is no longer the same. Dr. Rhonda MacDonald scared our dog by almost breaking her vaccine needle inside her; she misdiagnosed two cases of ear symptoms (Ear Mites+Infection) in two of our older dogs; she was completely out of her league and had no idea what she was doing 90% of the time. Our new dog was fixed last month, and from the beginning, her wound looked like it wouldn't heal properly. At the end of the month, we called back to check for infection as she had two large bumps that appeared to be gathering pus. At first, we were going to be charged $100 for a checkup that is supposed to be free, until a large amount of arguing, we ended up paying nothing. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS VET. Bad Service/Unknowledgeable/Greedy RID: 27320
Click to report rating    7/25/11   5     5     4     5   Love them! Would not trust anyone else. Have always taken excellent care of our pets and us. RID: 26459
Click to report rating    5/17/11   2     4     3     3   Every time I went there I saw someone different. No one ever seemed to know what was going on with my cat. They were cheapest vet in the city. Maybe you do get what you pay for! RID: 25059
Click to report rating    4/11/11   5     5     5     5   The compassion and care shown towards my pets over the years have been second to none. If our human medical doctors showed half the compassion these vets do, patients would be much happier! My cat was in serious renal failure. Got diagnosed early, and had a great quality of life for a long time! RID: 24307
Click to report rating    1/8/11   5     5     5     5   I have been taking my pets there for over 10 years. I have had the opportunity to meet all the vets and they are wonderful. I completely trust them and know they truly care. I have been to other vets before and this is by far the best! RID: 21895
Click to report rating    9/15/10   1     1     1     1   I took my golden retriever here and they removed a foot of his bowel, then told me to come pick him up to take to the emergency vet as they had no post op care .I cried and told them this was going to end badly as I knew his stitches would break ,but they assured me this was fine .next day the em called Hed gone septic and had to be put down.He was only 18 months old and 6 thousand dollars later i lost my beautiful boy.I was devastated!!! Click to report rating    9/14/10   2     3     3     2   WE took our 9 yr old****zu to this vet for her annual check up June. She has been going to this vet since she was a puppy. THey gave her vaccinations as well in June. In mid august she became very lethargic and we took her back in. AS she has had an occasional back problem we thought this was the problem. They did a blood test and informed us that she had IMHA. I asked what it was and how did she get this deadly disase. The vet said she didn't, know but there is speculation that it can be caused by vaccines.Long story short,I researched this and there is abundance of evidence on the Internet of thousands of animals getting this disase and hundreds of vets advising to get vaccinations only every 3yrs.I asked a lot of questions of my vet about their knowledge of this and they accused me of being aggressive and rude and told us to take our little girl elsewhere for treatment after charging us $1500. PLease be very careful and make absolute sure that you ask a lot of questions. RID: 19728

10/8/07   3     4     4     5   I have gone here with my cats and dogs for years. Totally satisfied for years but recently was very upset to find that my cat, that was on a strict diet for years was being fed a food he was not allowed to eat. He got sicker and no one seemed to know he was on a diet in spite of his medical records and the fact that I bought my food here. Other then that they did save his life, twice and are far cheaper then the competition. RID: 6092
