I just moved to Calgary from Toronto and spent a lot of time researching vet clinics in Calgary. I am so happy I decided to take my dog to Bowmont Animal Hospital. They are so very welcoming and warm. Dr Bruce is extremely knowledgable and took the time to really understand what was going on with my dog Dublin. Dublin absolutely loved her from the start and was extremely comfortable with Dr Bruce. The recommendations she gave us are already helping with her allergies! We are so thrilled!

My dog is a rescue and this was the first vet I took him to. The were excellent. And as a welcome the clinic gave me a couple perks. free nail clipping for one. Since my first visit Jax had got very sick. And the care and love he received was absolutely wonderful. He is never scared to go in and always happy to see his dr. friends. That means a lot to me. I would recommend anyone using this clinic. And I have to say even when he was sick I felt the prices I paid were very fair. They had to run a lot of tests. cost way less then I thought.

Our Dog regularly visited for annual check up and we were very happy. He then had a severe wrist injury which required weekly bandages. The initial cost was reasonable ($50.00) After the second dressing change they suddenly raised their rates by 40% to $70.00. This is a total cash grab likely because they noticed that they had a pet who required weeks of dressing changes and the owners were willing to pay. This is very unfortunate and due to obvious selfishness of the business we will look elsewhere.

Dr. Skelley is an amazing vet. We started taking our dog to Bowmont Animal Hospital after being gouged by another clinic. All the staff at Bowmont are excellent. The key thing - when we tell our 13 year puppy we're going to the vet, he's at the front door wagging his tail before we have our shoes on!

Dr. Skelley and staff are amazing. They never rush, and always take the best care of all my pets. I found them by accident about 13 or more years ago, and this is the best clinic I've ever taken my furry friends to. Dr. Skelley truly cares about animals - he's not just in it to make money.

The reviews on some vets are just downright scary. Incompetence, callousness, & price gouging are just some of the many negative reviews I read in my search for a new vet. But the B.A.H. was patient with me & my questions over the phone & was able to book an appointment for us that afternoon. The atmosphere was pleasant & calm, as were the staff. This fact was even more appreciated given the nature of my 25 year old cat, who never responds well to the slightest of stressors under the best of circumstances. Needless to say pain, car rides & strangers are far from her ideal. The vet was patient (with both of us), gentle, practical & informative. This was the least stressful vet visit (for both of us) in all of my cat's 25 years of life. For the first time ever I'm no longer worried about subjecting her to exams. On behalf of Cookie & myself, much thanks to the Bowmont Animal Hospital. I only wish I had found them years ago. The cherry on the sunday is they're also affordable. :-)

Took my lil buddy wally here and right away we were accomedated by the receptionist. The Vet was very nice and helpfull with my dogs need. She didnt try to "sell" me anything that my dog didnt need.

We've had our dog with this clinic for 10 years. Both Kevin and Nola have always been very caring with him, provided good advice on his care, and have answered our questions well. I've also had to schedule a couple urgent appointments, and they have always fit us in quickly. Have recommended them before and would easily do so again.

I went to this vet based on the earlier recommendations listed below. While their consult fees are on par with what other clinics charge, I was impressed with how the vet did not try to 'sell' extra unneeded services. If I had gone to the Emergency Clinic on 4th Ave NW, from my experience they would have had me get lots of expensive tests for my elderly cat, regardless of the need. I originally was looking to get my very eldery cat's teeth cleaned. This was the only clinic that I called that actually said that my cat was probably too old for that kind of surgery and that there were other alternatives to explore. I was impressed that the tech or receptionist knew that.

I take both of my dogs here and find the care exceptional, once i had to pick up some medication for my dog but was stuck in traffic and couldn't get there before closing, when i got there i found that they had stayed pass closing so they could give me the medication. the staff is always nice and the doctors explain everything clearly. appointments are accommodating and rarely have to be made far in advance. I trust them with my pets completely.

We have been taking our dogs there for 15 years, they have literally saved both our dogs lives with their quick and accurate diagnosis. Dr Skelly is in our minds the best vet ever, Nola seems like more of a cat person but shows nothing but care and love for all the animals. I would trust her advice 100% for our dog. You get a family type of service there.

These people love animals and it shows. When our old dog was ailing and on several different meds for arthritis and a skin condition, Dr . Skelley gave us one Rx to take to Safeway because it was cheaper to buy there. Who does that? Will always refer people to their clinic as provide excellent care!

I believe it is a husband and wife run clinic. I have been to the husband and he was very caring, gave great honest advice, However, the woman vet there is horrid! She is very gruff, snarky and berrated me for feeding my dogs a raw diet (she actually told me that I was killing my dog with Raw Food)! I will never recommend this clinic and would never step foot in the door again!

We have been going here for over 12 years. I had two cats who grew old with us and had to be put down. They were fantastic in their care and compassion during that difficult time. Dr. Skelley was also the one to help us when our cat had cancer. His referrals and advice was invaluable. We now go back with our two dogs and live past 22x in the South. Well worth the drive for us. No other vet like them!

Dr. Kevin and Dr. Nola are truly wonderful and capable vets. We take our kittens and dog there and they have always received exceptional care. Recently we had to say goodbye to our 16 year old kitty. They created an environment that was compassionate and gentle (for our cat and us!).They are very reasonable and knowledgeable. Has your vet ever cuddled and kissed your pet? All part of the care provided by these true animal lovers.

I love Dr Skelley and feel he makes the best choices for my pets. He is compassionate and professional. I do not live close to this clinic any longer but insist on taking my 2 dogs there because of the relationship I have built there over the years.

A good vet & clinic staff; nothing fancy but who needs it? Prices reasonable; Dr Skelley knew right away what was wrong with my cat and fixed her up then and there. I recommend this clinic and veterinarian

Bowmont Animal Hospital (in Bowness, NW Calgary) has the best vets I've ever had the privilege of having care for my pets. They aren't part of the Calgary vet consortium -- that makes their rates considerably lower. I've saved a ton of money and my pets have gotten outstanding care. They are very practical, and don't recommend unnecessary tests or treatments. I'd give them 10 stars if I could!
