I have been using this Vet for 9 years for both of my dogs. They are extremely gentle which I think says a lot. They really love the dogs and cats they treat. I have seen a few of the Doctors there and all have been wonderful. They use fully licensed staff which my last Vet did not have and I can tell the difference. I recommend this place to everyone who cares about the kind of treatment their furbabies receive!

I took my cat who was lost, found &badly injured. Besides the atrocious bill the vet Dr. Delfino was unable to tell how the cat was injured, but she competently told me he needed two surgeries, a feeding tube & the cost $4,000.00 dollars. I removed my cat & took him to North Shore Animal hospital where in a matter of minutes the vet told he he was hit by a vehicle, needed surgery to fix a fractured jaw, his eye removed- NO FEEDING TUBES required & the grand total $1,000.00. In my opinion BAH & their doctors are out to make money & has NO HEART FOR ANIMALS.PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM THEY WILL squeeze you dry.

We have been taking our dogs to Bellerose Animal Hospital for over 30 years. We found out during that time that the care of the doctors & staff have been outstanding. They have cared for our dogs, since they were puppies, as if they were their own. Some of our dogs were critically ill & Dr. Andrew Karmin & staff performed miracles to save them. The facilities are immaculate & always smell clean & fresh. The staff is very well trained & supervised. Dr. Karmin is one of the best, if not the best, diagnostician in his field. We have recommended all our friends with pets to Bellerose. They were extremely satisfied & thank us for the referral to Bellerose Animal Hospital to keep their pets healthy.

I rate Bellerose Animal Hospital as 5 on all counts. My pets have been treated there for 25 years - 3 cats with cancer ( 1 feral), 1 cat with kidney failure, 2 tempermental poodles, & 1 gunea pig.I have received compassionate & expert care from the Vets. Dr. Andrew Karmin, whose father began the hospital, is an amazing diagnostician, and he knows just about every vet and specialist in the New York area. When 1 of my cats needed radiation therapy, he was able to cut through all the red tape & politics at the Animal Medical Center (NYC) so that a senior vet in the oncology department treated Nino. Bellerose vets have never suggested tests or procedures that I later realized were unnecessary, and they have always explained the information received from radiologists & other specialists in a way that I could understand. Dr. Karmin has seen me through 4 closures, when my time with my beloved companion drew to an end. I am thankful to have had a sensitive & compassionate vet with me.

The staff at Bellerose has treated our family's pets continuously since 1963. I cannot say enough about the excellent care that our pets have received from their professional, caring staff. They have treated 2 dogs and 7 cats during the last 49 years for everything from a broken leg requiring a rod and screws to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Our cat Panther was diagnosed at the age of 6 and lived to 21 because of the superior care that he received at Bellerose--and he was not an easy cat to treat. They are all wonderful and we feel very lucky to have them in our lives.

I love this place! The staff really care about animals they are so gentle and sweet with my baby. Dr.Witherell always takes the time to explain everything to me. The techs are the best I have ever dealt with anywhere.I have used other vets and they never treated me or my pets like bellerose does. They talk me me, tell me what they are going to do and even take me in the back, they have nothing to hide. Other Animal Hopsitals took my dog behind a closed door and left me wondering what was happening. I recommended Bellerose Animal Hospital to a friend and she said that it was the first time she was ever invited "behind the scenes" and taken on a tour of the Hospital. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital to anyone who wants the best care by REAL animal lovers!

I totally disagree with the above comments. My cat had an emergency, after calling the office I was told to bring her right in. I was not disappointed. 2 staff members immediately took me into an exam room and a doctor met us there. I got the impression that all other work stopped for the care of my cat. She was taken to the treatment room while I gave her history to the doctor. I asked to see her and was taken to the ER area. I was impressed by the cleanliness and the professional attitude. She was already on an IV and was attached to a screen which they said measured her blood pressure and heart rate. Her x-rays were already on the screen and the doctor said he was waiting for some emergency blood tests. I could not believe that all of this happened in 15 minutes. After she was stabilized I got a tour of the hospital. I was told she would be watched all night long with a doctor on call.COMPASSIONATE STAFF.I was fairly charged for all the loving care. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I totally agree with the other comments about this place. All they cared about is the money, and how you are going to pay them. Very cold, rude, unprofessional people. They charged me for a emergency visit, when there was not even another person’s pet waiting to be seen. Never mentioned to me there is an extra cost when I called them on the phone prior to taking my cat there. If you love your pet, do not take them here.

My cat died two days after being examined by one of their vets. They toldme my cat was just "constipated". Don't even get me started on their office and billing personnel. Very unsympathetic, rude, totally unprofessional. Just interested in my ability to pay the vet bill.
