I brought my German Shepherd, Prima, to the Veterinary Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Group (VOSM) when her right hind leg stopped supporting her. I initially opted for the "conservative" treatment and left with some prescriptions. When my dog did not respond well to some of the medications, I contacted Dr. Gallagher and his assistant, Betty Helms, via email and phone requesting an estimate for surgery (which was one of the options mentioned at the initial visit) and recommendations for alternative medications. I was told they would get back to me. However, despite my sending another email, they never responded to my request.
In the meantime, Prima's condition was deteriorating. Ultimately, she needed to be euthanized to put her out of her suffering. Had the doctor responded as promised, she might well be still alive.
