I’m not sure what the bad reviews are about. We had a great experience here. Dr.R did a very thorough exam with both our pets. Laid out our options very logically ranging in price so we could decide. The staff was fantastic and accommodating. It is quite a distance for us to go there but we weren’t happy with the local vet and it is well worth the drive for us. Our pets were very happy and responsive to the veterinary care here. They know who’s good. 5*

Dr. Hurdall retired unfortunately. Dr. Rubenstein is arrogant and seems to only care about making money. Dr.Cathy is nicer.

I have beeb taking both my elderly dogs to this location for about a year now. I had a scare regarding my male going blind due to him recently becoming diabetic. I called very concerned and got zero compassion or empathy from the staff member. They basically told me to take him to emerg clinic because they couldn't "fit him in". Many times I jad appointment and was asked to change due to am emerg client needing to come and accommodated this mi questions but they don't return the favor. Many conversations I had with Dr Rubenstein and found him very condescending and rude however, when had been in to see female doctor she seemed better so I continued to go. After this last incident though and the treatment have received I will not step foot in their facility. Because of how was treated put google review and they just treated me worse instead of taking accountability for their lack of compassion they pointed the finger on me. Never go here all about the money!

appointment Tuesday March 24 2020. The female vet was very rude. She would not listen to my concerns and basically talked over me the whole appt.She was very unprofessional and did not acknowledge my concerns about my elderly dog. I left the clinic feeling very angry about how I was treated. I will not use this clinic in the future.

Dr. Cathy is fabulous. She is a very caring person and you can tell that she loves animals. My cat is so relaxed with her which she has not been at other vets. She is very fair in her billing. I will be staying with her. I have only had Dr. Dave once but he was very good too

I've been through a number of vets in my area (Langley), and haven't been as happy as I'd like, so I took the recommendation of a friend and went to see Guildford Animal Hospital. My 2 dogs have been patients there now for several months, and have been very pleased with the service. The staff all care so much for animals. The two practice owners, Dr. Cathy Gies and Dr. Dave Rubenstein are the best I've encounters over the 10 years or so of being a pet owner. I couldn't be happier! Highly, highly recommended.

who is dr hurdell. saw dr reubenstein. impressed. relieved. only saw him once but after going through infection from neutering at other vet my dog was so much better same day. I have pics to prove it. check their website c omparitivelyt ot others. real doctors.

Dr. Hurdal is experienced, professional and very knowledgeable on the animals with gentle and understanding care. He is terrific with Rotties and my dog can't wait to visit with his favorite doctor although it's an hour's drive there and back. It will always be Dr. Hurdal for my pets. He is terrific.

I have been taking my animals here for 13 years and would go no where else. His fee's for services are more than fair. When I have been out of town and had to take my animals in to the vet, I have almost choked in what I have been charged. Dr Hurdal truly loves the animals he treats and it shows every time you come in. When we had to put one of our dogs down, he was just as upset as we were with it. He constantly "throws things in" and is always thorough and honest with every procedure. I have had to take three different animals through knee surgery two of mine of of someone else's who didn't have a surgeon near by and the staff have been wonderful. I cannot say enough about his vet office and recommend him to all I meet.

Dr. Hurdell has had nothing but Compassion for all of our pets and we have been going to them for years! Sometimes tests need to be ordered in order to diagnose the medical issue. Pets are no different than humans. Would you want to go to a physicians office and have them guess what you have and prescribe....come on people!!! If you have an issue with cost....then get a second opinion, or buy pet insurance if you are going to complain about the costs! If you cannot afford the costs of a pet then don't get a pet.....get a goldfish! No complaints about Dr. Hurdell and his staff! They are FANTASTIC hands down!

LOVE Dr. Hurdal. He is very imformative and genuinely loves animals. When my dad's dog was sick and dying, Dr. Hurdal was very empathetic towards my elderly father and gentle with his sick dog. I would not go anywhere else!

I can't say anything not positive about Dr. Hurdell and his team. I never felt the need to take our cat to any other vet and therefore I have no other clinic that I could compare this clinic with. Dr. Hurdell seems genuinely interested in the well being of our cat and just watching him treating our cat I have full confidence in him (and his staff). I will continue to bring our cat to teh Guildford Animal Hospital and I do not understand some of the very negative comments that others made. But everybody is entitled to his/her opinion. I would hope that you will give this clinic a try and watch yourself how much care they give to the pets. I believe that Dr. Hurdell can be very direct and maybe that is something that some people may have a problem with, but in my opinion he does it for the benefit of your pet. I am willing to learn and I actually prefer is somebody told me what I can do to give better care to my cat. It should be all about the well being of the animals.

Dr. Hurdel has poor ethics. He gave my pet a diagnostic before even doing a proper examination. He claims that my dog’s anal gland has ruptured internally and requested me to pay 800 dollar for a surgery plus an additional 1xx blood test. I totally did not trust him because my dog’s issue didn’t look that serious. So I went to get another diagnostic from a different vet. The poor dog only had minor issues with is anal gland, nothing serious like what Dr. Hurdel said. At the end, the other vet charged me less than 200 to deal with the problem. Dr. Hurdel is a rip-off. Beware, never go to Dr. Hurdel. He will make your pet and wallet suffer.

My family & I have been dealing with Dr Hurdal for > 17 years. For those who say he is a money grabber and unethical? I question that. 13 years ago we rescued our puppies and took them to Dr hurdal to be checked out. Their first shots, deworming and check up were free because we rescued them. As for caring and compassionate, when one of our dogs had to be put down with cancer, I watched a teary eyed Dr Hurdal say good bye as though it was a friend. Is he expensive? Probably. Does he care for your pet as though it was his own? Definately. Would I take my pet elsewhere. Not likely. If you want a vet who will care for your pet as much as you then I would suggest Dr Hurdal. More expensive, yes. But respect and compassion come at a price and pet insurance is a valuable addition. Everyone has a right to their opinion and has different expections. My animals are my family. I would say check him out for yourself and make your own opinion. I think you will be glad you did.

You get what you pay for and Dr. Hurdal is thorough. Evidence based treatment sometimes depends on expensive lab tests and in the end is cheaper and better for your pet than an educated guess. A healthy pet starts with good nutrtion which may require specialized food.

After the amount of years I have been seeing Dr. H I was surprised with my last three vet bills... When I questioned services I was told they have already been recieved and there was noting to talk about.... Is it all about the money ? I didnt think so in the past but I sure do now. PS my dog has been healthier then ever since I have taken him off the "vet food" I was told he HAD to have for alergies.

We agree with those reviews that describe Dr. Hurdel's Money Grabbing attempts when he suggests or orders a myriad of tests, though the diagnose is obvious without confirming tests. We took our dog to the Guildford Animal Hospital and left with his recommendation of absolutely necessary tests exceeding $1500.00 before he would be able to prescribe appropriate medication. We left after paying a hefty bill for this consultation and returned to our vet when he came back from vacation. He examined the dog, administered one shot and send us home with some prescription medication and advice. Three days later, our dog was fine and is ever since we saw our vet several months ago. Conclusion, Dr. Hurdel appears to either lack the ability and experience to diagnose obvious cases or, indeed, he is a Money Grabber looking for easy prey. In either case, he not the able or ethical veterinarian we are used to. Needless to say, we will never again use his clinic, nor do we recommend him.

Dr. Hurdal is wonderful with the animals. He really does care. Great with Rotties. I have moved from Surrey and wouldn't change for anything to someone else. The staff are great too.

Dr Hurdal saved my dogs life after other vets ignored my issues. I will never go to anyone else. My dog was abused by her previous owners and is afraid of men, but she loves Dr Hurdal, and actually gets excited to see him. His staff is wonderful, they're very patient, and always friendly. I think any vet you go to is going to be expensive, but when it comes to the health of your pet, you get what you pay for. Maybe he is slightly more expensive, but I would rather pay more and know my dog is being taken care of.

Dr. Hurdal may be a decent vet but did not care for his up sale technique all the time. Seems to always sell you something when you left. He is always ordering more tests than other vets as well. Prices for prescriptions are high too compared to other vets. The girls in the front office are nice.

Pet care is pricey in general, and I don't find Guildford Animal Hospital any more expensive than any other vet I've been to, the prices seem reasonable. I had my rabbit and dog spayed there and take my dog for regular checkups with Dr. Hurdall. Dr. Hurdall is a wonderful vet and we continue to go to him even after moving away from Surrey. Some of the staff are friendly, some are not, same as anywhere else.

Will never take my animal there again. Told him the problem was in my cats mouth, didn't even look in!! Misdiagnosed, had to buy special food and he wanted $700 in tests. A money grabber! Took him to my regular vet the next day, $35 for meds as he had mouth ulcers; cat was fine and it didn't cost me over $700, just the $100 they ripped me off. NOT a good place!

Dr. Hudrel is by far the most kind and compassionate Veterinarian that my family has dealt with. We have been going to him for years. The staff is exceptional. We take our new pet to him even after we moved out of the area. The cost of the food and medicine is a bit on the pricey side.

Dr.Hurdel is a caring, experienced and knowledgeable veterinarian. We have found him to be honest, ethical, and that he always places the best interests of the pet and the owner foremost. He has taken care of our dogs since 2004 and we have been so pleased with him we would never consider using another vet. I can't recommend Dr.Hurdel highly enough.

Dr. Hurdall is a great vet.. kind and compassionate. He listens to you instead of talking at you, which is a very good quality in any kind of doctor. I use to go to him for my ferrets, but I switched the Dr. Prus because I felt she knew more about ferrets, and I was sick and tired of the LONG wait times after my appointments. I always got in to see him promptly enough, but every time I was stuck waiting to pay for far too long. If you have a cat or a dog, I would recommend Dr. Hurdall; if you have an exotic, however, I recommend Dr. Prus :)

I have been using Dr. Hurdal for 17 years for my cats. One cat had kidney disease and he was so good with her and the on-going treatment and always explaining what was happening and what to watch for. His treatment of my 18 year old cat who just passed away in April,2010 was exceptional. Thru the two surgeries on her knees, her dental procedures and her care in general was great. She was not a vet cat and always put up a terrible fuss. Dr. Hurdal was always patient and kind with her including at the end. I highly recommend Dr. Hurdal at this clinic.

If DR.Hurdall is your vet, you have the very best. He saved my dogs life and i brought him in dead. Had him 12 yrs after that. The man is amazing but, i did not have good experiences with other vets here.I would ONLY see DR.HURDALL in fact, it was another vet there that pooly diagnosed my dog that led to his coming back near death. The other vets diagnosis was wrong. This was a few yrs ago.
