Click to report rating    2/4/18   2     2     2     2   My dog was sent home a few years ago when I indicated that I felt the dog was not looking well and she insisted that the dog was fine to be discharged. I got the dog home against my better judgement, and the dog got worse and died in my arms within the hour, taking her back to the facility. I personally felt she did not know how to treat my dog. This was reported to the Maryland Veterinary Board of Examiners, but they sided with her in spite of detailed documentation that I had. I would never go there, and I will never be able to get the image out of my mind of my dog yelping, and dying in my arms as I was driving the dog back to the facility. She should have kept the dog, and if worse got to worse, she could have put the dog down so that he she wouldn't have suffered. I will never get over it. Hopefully, by now she has gained more experience and is a better vet. RID: 65527
Click to report rating    1/7/11   5     5     5     5   After 2 other vets and an emergency vet specialist had treated our puppy and failed to cure him, Dr. Rhinesmith persevered with him and succeeded. She did not give up and found what the others had missed with all their expensive tests, and she did it by carefully examining and observing her patient. She is a gifted diagnostician, a caring and proficient physician, and a gracious person besides. I would trust her with any animal at any time. She cured our boy when everyone else was stumped, because she took the time and has the skills. We love her! RID: 21844
Click to report rating    8/14/10   5     5     5     2   Our cat has leukemia which has progressed to a form of lymphoma. We drove her the the Emergency Animal Hospital on an evening when she was experiencing jerky breathing and Dr. Rhinesmith was who we saw. She was incredibly kind-hearted, compassionate and just an amazing practitioner in general. Though the news she gave us was heartbreaking, it was truthful and relayed to us with utmost empathy. The news was that our kitty would likely need to be put to sleep in a few days to a couple of weeks. Dr. Rhinesmith gave our cat several injections that would help to make her more comfortable in the meantime. She also instructed us as to what signs to look for in determining when it was time for Duchess to be brought in and humanely euthanized. We had such a positive experience with this veterinarian that we were hoping she provided regular vet care services for our dog and other cat. Unfortunately, she does not, however, if you ever are in need of emergency services for your pet, Dr. Rhine RID: 19228
