They have now recommended that I bring my dog in 2 visits for his yearly vaccines because of his size (2.5kilo).. which has been the same for 3.5 years. $95 to walk in the door and will charge me again to bring him back. Altho the vet did say "I can give him all his shots today but it could KILL him" SERIOUSLY!!! & with a straight face. They also over charged for NEXGARD flea and tick treatment by $105.... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL TO ANYONE, EVER! THEY ARE ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY! I'm guessing they think that if you have a pet then you must have loads of money. SMFH

I have been going to Richview 10 years. Since they moved within the plaza, the clinic has changed dramatically and not for the good. I arranged for my dog to have 5 cysts removed.upon iDrs visit the Vet found another on his leg. and questionable teeth extractions. Prior to the day I went back and forth disputing what had to be done. The day of, I discussed again with attendant and provided a drawing of the cysts of concern. After paying the $3,300+ bill I found that 2 of the identified cysts had Not Been Removed. The dr. Called to see how he was doing and when I commented said oh well. I tried calling the Dr. THE RECEPTIONIST couldn’t find my account…then asked how I spel my last name..and how to spell Charlie..I took him to have stitches out and haven’t brushed him till today …I find..stitches in the large questionable cyst has not been removed. If you can’t get Dr. Porch the senior Vet and speak directly..don’t use this clinic. The new manager, assistants ,receptionists are pathetic

I took my dog to be shaved and de-matted -he does not let anyone with scissors & trimmer to get close to him; he has lots of hair, and mats form quickly- to be done under sedation or anesthesia if necessary. It was our last resource, as we indicated to the vet over the phone, as it was August (hot) and my dog was very uncomfortable. They shaved the front lower half of his front legs and claimed that was the service we had agreed on. We paid over $500 for that.

Took my puppy here. The wellness plan was pushed on us multiple times, even after conforming and they continued to pressure us into getting the 'silver' wellness plan. The staff exageratted issues mutiple times for more heartworm and bloodwork testing (each time they were negative; he just had a sensitive puppy stomach or needed his anal glands expressed). Another time they claimed his puppy teeth would 'never fall out' on their own at 5 months old and scared us to neutering our dog at 5 months so they could also do dental extractions. We wanted to delay his neuter since he's a large breed dog. A few days before his neuter his baby tooth fell out on its own. There was no apology from the staff, they just said 'sometimes it happens' and gave us a bag of dog treats.... Because they'd already charged us for the pre-anesthetic screens (~$200) we had to continue forward. We later learned that any other vet would have recommended that we wait for the teeth to fall out first.

I was in the clinic today with my dog while checking out another staff member came to the front And yelled at the reception that was checking me out. The lady sitting at the desk said she didn’t appreciate how she was being treated, the one girl continued to yell at her. Seems like the staff don’t get along. The one girl checking me out seemed to be very upset that she was getting yelled at. Lets just say I don’t think it’s very professional for staff members to come out and yell at other staff members while talking to clients in the clinic. Very rude and disrespectful!

They are very greedy and over charge. They will not tell you beforehand whether a vet or vet technician will clean you dog's teeth. They will lie an tell you it is a vet who will be cleaning your dog's teeth.

I was a regular client at another clinic in Etobicoke until I had an emergency one night with my pup and they couldn't "fit her in". The staff at Richview accommodated me and my pup when we needed help the most. We've been with Richview ever since. Even if they're busy, they'll find a way to squeeze you in if your pup's sick and provide excellent care and having that piece of mind makes them the clinic for me. Vet care will always be expensive regardless of where you go, but at least at least at Richview, you know they'll be there for you when you need them.

I have been taking my cats and dog to Richview for many years. The support staff are friendly and informative and Dr Portch and Dr Booth take the time to do a thorough exam and explanation of their recommendations. They always review an estimate of costs and work hard to provide affordable care. There are cheaper clinics out there but after trying a few over the years, I realize that you get what you pay for - Richview provides excellent care that is worth every penny.

Have been taking my pets here for many years and was curious about what other people were saying. I'm not sure why there are bad reviews. Wonderful staff and veterinarians, very compassionate. Very thorough and they take the time to address all of your concerns. The doctors here will always give you ALL of your options when treating a certain problem without pushing tests. They are just trying to be thorough and give you all the info to make the best decision for your pet. And yes, vet medicine comes with a price but we don't pay for healthcare in Ontario (OHIP), so people don't understand what medical care costs. You don't have to do any of the tests, it's just recommended. I have never been made to feel bad or guilty about not doing a test. I would rather the vet make a recommendation then not. They care!! Hope this provides some insight.

I've been taking my Maltese/Shih tzu to Richview for a few years now. I've always been impressed with the cheery attitude the staff has and clean, spacious hospital. My little dog is very nervous and the techs and vets make her comfortable and are always sensitive to her needs. I've been super impressed with how thoroughly things are explained and how all the options presented to me so I can make informed decisions about my baby's care. I feel the price point is right for the area and I trust the care they give my dog. Very happy I found this place in my area!

This place is a cash grab. They tried to force X-rays on my dog, but when I got a second opinion they told me that was unnecessary. I was given the wrong instructions on how to administer my dog' s meds by a young staff member, and they did not apologize when I called to tell them (thank goodness I researched the medication online). Furthermore, they are quite rude at the front desk (carol).

Really clean open space. The staff is very nice and professional, always willing the help and go the extra mile. There is sometimes a small wait but that is becuase they do not rush their clients and address all of your concerns fully. They are very kind and skilled with handling my cats and dog. At first the recommendations can seem pricy but as they explain they always present what is the most ideal then will tailor the treatment plan to your needs. They always follow up on any concerns you might have and to ensure their recommendations are working be it medications, diet or learning how to brush teeth. I appreciate their free nutritonal consults with their technicans which have helped my cat lose weight. My pets have seen all of the vets there and I have had great experiences with each one. The best part about their multi-vet practice is if your pet is very sick the Doctors consult each other. That meant alot when my 2 year old cat got cancer. I feel comfortable to be me there.

I have had many animals over the years, and have been to many vets. No one will ever compare to the care given by the staff at Richview Animal Hospital. My pets are my children, and I don't just trust anyone with my children. The staff are polite, helpful, sensitive to my needs and my animal's needs. All the vets and staff love their patients as if they were their own. I consider everyone at Ricview animal hospital my extended family :)

If you want a cheap vet go elsewhere, but if you want the best for your pet go here! The knowledge and service they provide is exceptional and I have not experienced this elsewhere. If you want a great vet who takes the time to get to know your pet and make good recommendations or diagnostics you have to pay for it. My pet is a family member and I was happy to see him treated as such. I would definitely recommend this vet for your family!

They only care about your wallet, not your pet. They overcharge on everything and they order unnecessary tests. Avoid them, no mater house nice the place looks - it's a trap!

We have always taken our beloved family pet (Golden Retreiver 12 years old) to Richview. This clinc, its staff and its vets especially Dr.Portch, are very good at what they do. They care very much about the animals. They are so good handling animals and they have a very nice clean professional facility. The always our available by phone for advice and consultation and spend as much time with you as you need to feel comfortable. They involve the owners in everythign about they do and find out about the pets. Yes, they do push you on purchasing their products, petfoods, medications, wellness tests etc and yes Richview is incredibly expensive compared to other vet clinics we know of through friends, but we would never consider taking our pet anyplace else because we fully trust Richview and have had nothing but excellent experiences with them.

The prices are ridiculous in this place. When I compared what I was charged and other vets rates I was furious. I do not recommend this place.

I went to this clinic a few times and each time I felt I was being gauged. The staff and facilities are good but they charge you an arm & a leg. It is a huge rip off. I paid about $385 just to have my cat checked and given a few shots. They tried to push unnecessary tests on me as well such as a stool test even though there were no signs of parasites or infections AND the cat is an indoor cat. They also tried to push their food on me which contained BHA and BHT which are known carcinogens. If you value your hard earned money don't take your pets here. There are many more affordable places out there that are not out to take advantage of you.

this place is terrible. they guilt trip you into making ridiculous purchases. only THEIR food is good apparently. i was made to feel like a jerk cause i didn't want to do a wellness screen (that cost around $150)for my new puppy. he is happy and healthy and they made it seem like i should do it or if he dies, its my fault. they rip you off large. the receptionist was the worst i've ever encountered. i do not recommend this place. steer clear for sure!

Really like going here, have been for years. Clean, great vets, etc. While I haven't shopped around enough to know for sure, I really feel like I get gouged every time we go there. I can't seem to leave the place without spending about $300 (at least). We take good care of our pets, they are members of our family, so its not like we only go in on emergencies or something. Called just now for an annual check in for our dog and its: wellness check, a couple of vaccines, blood test, etc. $500.
