Most of the front desk staff and medical assistants were fine, as were some of the doctors. On the other hand, I'd fire some of the doctors. I brought my dog in with a gastro-intestinal problem: severely lethargic and vomiting. He had had seizures all his life when he was very anxious, so of course his illness brought on seizures. I'd always just held him and talk to him until he came to. But this time the doctor decided Valium would be better. I told him my dog was allergic: He ignored this. I asked him to fax my dogs' records from his previous vet to verify his medication allergies: He refused. He told me that I could obtain them and bring them in (his previous vet was 140 miles away). He gave my dog the valium, the seizures got much worse, and my dog died. I was told "well he probably ate anti-freeze" (when outside, he was never away from me or out of my sight), or had a brain tumor which suddenly made his seizures so bad. Or cancer.
