I wanted to add my experience because maybe if they get enough bad reviews (which already- yikes) they’ll change some of their practices. I wish I would’ve read the reviews for this clinic before I went but unfortunately it was a time sensitive thing. I had a rather bad and very stressful experience ending today. The front desk receptionist that I dealt with in the middle of the night bringing my cat in (she had blue hair and tattoos) was actually really nice and compassionate. But as soon as I went in to see the vet I was hit with an estimate of $2200 to admit my cat for two-three days due to him chewing on a lily. That part I mostly understand (kind of) but, like a lot of other people said they make you feel bad for being shocked and hesitant to pay a crap load of money up front! I felt a bit bullied and pressured, as I was emotional, alone and it was 2:00am. The vet Dr. Bailey Teitge was very unfriendly and literally said in the rudest tone “Well what can you afford?” She showed no

Disorganized, subpar service at this emergency vet here's some details: Staff is flaky and disorganized, couldn't remember what order people arrived, didn't seem to know what they were doing. Vet didn't ask a lot of questions and didn't want to give my dog a hydrate pac even tho she said he was dehydrated and I ask for one. The vet reminded me of used car sales man telling me I needed all these tests done, I knew that we start simple and see from there, with the extremely long wait I heard the same from other customer, same list of tests they were told to do even tho their dogs had different symptoms. Was the only customer when I walked in and was there for four hours just trying to get my dog hydrated. Very frustrating experience, won't be going back

I had my rabbit spayed here a few years ago because they convinced me that they were comfortable with the procedure. Unfortunately they butchered her surgery and she suffered from complications after. She didn't make it and I just wanted to come out to advise people to never step in this building. They are money hungry and honestly don't even give a care in the world about animals. I drive 30 minutes to a different vet now because I will never be caught going this clinic ever again.

Worst place ever. If you love your fur babies DO NOT bring them here. These guys are only in for the money. The kept my car for 2 days without giving him any treatment. I paid for all the treatments in advance and they still kept calling me to pay them otherwise they wouldn't treat my cat. I had to cancel multiple appointments to go repay these guys so they would start my cats treatment. After I saw no improvement and no treatment given by this clinic I decided to move my car to a different hospital. They made me wait 2 hours to discharge my cat. The worst impolite staff, the most unknowlegable doctors. Please please if you love your fur babies don't bring them to this clinic. They are not running a hospital, they are running a money making business.

Only visited once. I do not like their practice of the vet listening to your comments and then taking your pet back to a vet tech that you never get to talk to. Visit took 1 1/2 hours and I was just about ready to go demand my dog when they finally appeared with him. They recommended 3 drugs and did not know what his problem was.

I have ALWAYS had an amazing visit here, All the Dr's are genuine and really care about your pet. They never push any diagnostics, testing, food if they don't think it'll help your pet. If they are suggesting it, i'll do it. If i'm even a little hesitant on it, they will explain further and in more detail. I have declined certain services that I didn't think was necessary and never have I felt looked down upon. All my fur babies come here and they always will.

I have never personally had to bring my pets here, but I have worked here for a a few months and I never will bring my pets here. While there are some compassionate staff, the good nurses and doctors leave for other clinics within a few months of starting. The staff turnover is very high, so you can never expect the same doctor or nurse. The services they provide are okay, but the length of time some people had to wait was way too long. They also hold your pet in the back until you pay up! Wouldn't bring my pet here - too much uncertainty in the treatment they would get.

Bailey has been sick with bladder infection and we have been going to this hospital for her care.
DO NOT GO THERE! We have had nothing but horrendous experience, there motto: "maintaining a strong foundation geared towards compassionate care, superior customer service and a sense of community. Whether clients are visiting our hospital for their pet’s routine health care or emergency services, we foster a friendly environment where open communication between our staff and clients will aid clients in making the right choices for their pets"
Is a LIE! This was the most horrendous experience we have ever had. The owner Shelby actually asked me to give them a positive review on facebook, which i have since removed! Our story is long, but we are emotionally and mentally drained. They tell us it might be cancer and holds the info as hostage for days without returning our calls.I sat at their clinic and refused to leave until i got the results i paid for, they made me wait for 3 hours.

Two experiences with this clinic and I would never go back. There doesn't seem to be one vet in here that actually cares about your pet. This clinic is in it for the money and while you are there they will try and push everything they can on you. If you care about your pet go anywhere else.

Horrible Experience. Had to unfortunately put my 18yr old cat down on May 2nd. The two nurses who who trying to put the catheter into my cat seemed to have no experience. One grabbed her by the neck and the other turning on a very loud razor which obviously startled my cat, who I had spent the morning trying to keep calm. They ended up taking her in the back, blaming my boyfriend and I for the reason they couldn't get the catheter in. When it came time for the actual vet to euthanize her, he stopped during one of the injections and then restarted...not exactly sure why. Worse experience of my life, it was my first time having to euthanize a pet and they clinic made everything worse...I will NEVER recommend them to anyone

I was a regular client at this clinic and I have only had great experiences. Unfortunately we had to move from Calgary. I have been looking for a good vet hospital here but I haven't found one that I am happy with. I miss the great staff, the reasonable cost and the 24 hour availability!

The good news is - they make evening and weekend appointments at regular price (till 9pm). The bad news is - if you don't request any doctor specifically, your pet will most likely be seen by a young locum straight out of vet school, and you will never see the same person twice. It's not the doctor's fault, but especially in an emergency situation I'd prefer to see someone more experienced. Maybe some food for thought for the management. I was never too impressed with their service, and I really don't like that they take the animal and disappear "to the back" for treatment, although that is unfortunately quite common.

I visited here last spring when I brought my cocker spaniel in with an ear infection. The vet we saw was wonderful and, even though I paid an extra walk-in fee because I had no appt, I was surprised at how inexpensive the visit was.
8 months later I decided to return.
I was told that the appt would be 20 minutes but it was an hour and 20 minutes.Toward the end of the visit, the vet actually left the room for close to 30 minutes while I waited.
I was not charged the walk-in fee for this visit but I still ended up paying $75 more than the last time I visited with the exact same symptoms and diagnosis.
My dog is nearly 8 years old and has had several ear infections. I have never paid this much for him to be treated for this problem.
I will NEVER return here. There are enough other options available in and around this city that I suggest other pet owners explore other facilities before risking your wallt and your time here.

Took my kitten there bc i thought she ate some of my plant. Doc induced vommitting (which i was ok with) but also wanted to give charcoal, hospitalize the kitten with 24hr iv line with saline. I asked to see the vomit snd there was no plants in it so i took her home. I have experience giving saline subcutaneously and said i could do at home. I have all needed supplies. I gave one shot of saline and my cat is fine. She is eating, playing lots, purring, etc. they wanted to milk me for $1500. They are crooks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I took my cat in because he couldn't pee. This is the second time I took him, stupid me. The first time I wasn't sure if he really couldn't pee, or if it was just a clump of poop under his tail that was bothering him. This time I knew for certain that he can't pee. I was given two options basically: Put the cat down or spend $1300+ to fix him up, on top of the $260+ I just spent to get him checked and an X-Ray. I decided to bring my cat home (against their advice), instead. I began looking for home remedies online. I learned that Apple Cider Vinegar will unblock a cat. I added a tiny amount to some wet food and he ate it. A little while later he peed on the carpet. It's still early to tell, but I think he is going to be alright. Earlier this year I had a tooth infection. I thought it would lead to me having to visit a dentist. Instead I turned to natural rememdies and the problem is solved. Now a natural remedy seems to be helping my cat. I think I'm done with visiting Veterinarians!

My 17 year old companion developed liver disease which was not diagnosed by my regular vet. I had to put her down and although this was a difficult decision for me I was given excellent support for both myself and my dog. I was a mess but the staff from the vet to admin stepped in and helped me through this with dignity and care. My young daughter had a hamster that she dearly loved who developed a prolapsed rectum. Dr. McIntyre performed the surgery late at night and monitored the hamster continually. Sadly he did not make it . They assisted me to deal with my heartbroken child with professionalism and sensitivity. I would recommend this clinic highly.

The worst place to go to ever!!!! They were more concerned about the money then they were concerned about my dog!! I brought my 2 month old dog cause it was having problems breathing they took her in did Not help her until payments were made nurse would not let me leave to go get the money then when I asked the nurse how she was.. Her response was in cannot do anything else until we get a payment.. When I finally made a payment they finally gave her some oxygen. Then when I called to check up on her they kept telling me they don't know it's 50/50 that shell survive.. They kept on adding**** to my bill for xray oxygen etc... And was pretty much threatened to make another payment or else they cannot give her anymore oxygen I went to make the payment then went back an hour later too check up on her she stopped breathing in front on me and I had to look for a nurse when I got one the **** dragged it by its neck threw her on the counter and pulled her forehead way back it was soo rough

Absolutely appalled by the cost per minute care. Dog got bitten and I had no choice but to go there since its after hours. Surgery was estimated Low range and High range. After surgery (charged High range of course) and a little after 24hrs, returned to enquire about an infection on the suture. Was charged for re-examination fee and cleaning the wound $per minute. Then given option pay for surgery AGAIN if I wanted it fixed. So called Manager is sketchy, dodging calls and passing responsibility to staff to confront with clients. Front staff is friendly, facility is clean but strong air fresheners spraying left and right. Punctual yes cause not many clients? if you have the money to pay by the minute care go ahead and go there. I will NEVER return to this place again.

I have nothing but good things to say about McKnight. The girls at the front are very friendly and will answer any questions you may have, and if they don't have the answer they will find it for you. You get good bang for you buck here, and there is no sacrifice in quality of care. Very reasonable in comparison to other clinics I've been to before. Sometimes it's super busy and other times it isn't. I guess that can be expected since it's an emergency clinic. I've seen it go from dead to crazy busy in a matter of minutes. Overall, I'm pleased with the care my animals get here and definitely recommend them to friends. It's also great to see how much they work with rescue groups.

We took my dog in last christmas because she had cancer. We ended up having to put her down on Dec23. The vet we saw then was amazing he treated us with great respect. Then he left us with her to say goodbye. When i was able to breath again a nurse came in to take her away. She wasnt able to pick her up yet kept trying, she smashed her head into the ground dropped her a few times and finally my bf asked if she wanted help she said no! I lost it and had to leave. We have since taken our new pups there. the first vet (we've never seen the same one2x)told me our bassett had a heart murmuer then got mad cause i wouldnt pay 5000 to see if she did! turns out she DOESNT!! they try and push things that shouldnt be an option at that time. Not really happy espcially since we have never ever seen the same vet twice. going to try trans canada hopefully he's better.

I have brought my dog here since it opened. I personally have had great experiences. I have read all the reviews and in regards to the post on June 22/11, I can't say I have had a similar experience. While it is hard to minimize their feelings, it has made me think about what to do when my pet moves on. I never thought of paw prints and that is a decision that must be made immediately. Now I know what I will do. I appreciate the soft room with leather sofas in which my vet has briefed me in the past. It has made tough moments more private. I'm fortunate that my dog is still with me. I have seen the good will to rescue animals and it is always amazing to feel like the most important guardian/dog combo to enter through the door. If I had to make a recommendation, I would say waiting on hold sometimes takes a while...so please speed it up ;)

I have taken my pup to McKnight for two years. I've seen all the techs get happy and greet her and other dogs with a lot of enthusiasm. The vets too are great with my dog. $69 to have an appointment is totally a bargain. I have even brought runaway dogs and turned them over to be returned to a "lost owner" and they have gladly provided shelter to the animals. Which is amazing considering I've brought them in during the winter snaps. Tonnes of parking, easy to find, very accessible location. I'm very satisfied and so is my Wonder Dog.

Terrible experience. Will never go back and will not recommend to anyone I know. The waiting room is always empty for a reason. Stay away unless you have absolutely no other choice but to go here. We were treated like the worst pet owners ever after they collected the money to put our cat down. They are very quick to come in with the debit machine and try to sell you paw prints, and then come in and make you fell 10 times worse than you already feel about loosing a member of the family. Worst vet i have ever been to in my life.

We have brought two pets here to be put to sleep, as our regular vet hours cannot accomodate our whole families schedule. They are compassionate and understanding. We also brought our dog in for an emergency exam, and although she was ultimately treated at our regular vet, we recieved good care.

We brought our cat in after much deliberation during his illness. We were assured we could stay with him for his peaceful end. We made sure NO seperation would happen. It changed once we got there. She said it would only be a few minutes to start a line (much more happened but the space won't allow for complete detail) As soon as she stook the cat out one door, another woman came in another door with a cordless debit machine and the sales pitch for urns and paw prints. This all took place while our beloved pet was still alive. I have NEVER heard so many screams come from a cat ever!! We were horrified and saddened for our gentle boy. I feel we were coersed and deceived. I also believe that a deceased cat was brought back to us to be "euthanized" The vet did not even have a simple stethascope, I told her not to give him the 2 syringes she had and she quickly injected both so fast. This nightmare will haunt us forever. *RIP BUDDY* You deserved much more than what these monsters did :(

I brought my bunny in for a nail trim. They are very nice, well priced, but I do not recommend owners with bunny who are fiesty...because my rabbit jumped off the counter and screamed for his life...the technician did her best to calm him down and brought him to the vet to make sure he was not injured from the jump, but my bun was quite scared there...but they did there best so Im not angry or anything

I have had to deal with a number of Vets during the lifetime of my pets. I find the staff at McKnight friendly and knowledgeable. I have been using this clinic for over a year for my 2 dogs and cat. They also work with a number of rescue organizations and are always trying to find ways to reduce the costs associated with the care of my pets while still providing excellent care. Their facilities are well maintained and always clean. As they are a 24hr facility I love that I can book an appt at 9 in the evening on a Sunday if needed with no extra charge and am comforted by the fact that if there is an emergency they have my pets records on hand and can give them the treatment they need without having to refer me to another clinic. I have referred my friends and family to this clinic and they all have nothing but good things to say about the care they have received. I also like that they dont need to refer me out to other clinics and have everything in house.

McKnight is the absolute best vet to go to if you own ferrets. They go out of their way to figure out what is wrong with them, because it's so different to treat a ferret than a dog/cat. Dr. Kimura loves her pet patients just as much as owners love their pets.

Highly recommend. I had to rush my dog in as he was blocked at 12 in the morning. The staff there were extremely straightforward and respectful. They were upfront about the cost and gave excellent guidance on the options I had at that time. I also received a thoughtful follow up phone call 3 days after I had transferred my dog from their facilities to my regular vets.

My dog went in for a dental and they were awesome. I thought he was going to have a canine taken out but they were so good that they were able to give him a good cleaning and send him home. I brought my dog in before i went to work in the morning and I was able to pick him up after dinner that night. He was a bit unsure of his footing because of the drugs but the next day he was back to his old self. They did a great job and were under the other estimates that I received from two other clinics. I can't say enough good about these guys. the staff at the front were very helpful and the vets were very caring. Because of the time in between i actually saw two of them and they were both really nice. Thank you to all of you at the clinic. I hope I don't have to come back too soon but the food you suggested seems to be helping him keep his teeth cleaner.

Had my cat in there 4 times for crystals and then on top of that right after a bladder infection, he was on paind meds for a while while they ran tests and more test. Money and more money! Then because the tests took so long I called for a few more days of medication to ease the pain and they kept suggesting that we bring him in again? so they can charge me to tell me the same thing all over again? WTF really? no how about you just give me a few extra pills until you figure out what anit-biotics will work?? almost 1500 dollars later he is still not well, as soon as this isue is taken care of we are switching vets! On top of everything we had to listen to the vet talk about how good Hills food is and no other food is good, even ones she has never looked up or heard of before, she kept saying she was not biast but she was, Hills sponsered pictures, treat containers all sorts of stuff all over the office. How can she say that when there is all these freebees and you only carry Hiils??

I had my ferret in hospital for a dental procedure. When I called after surgery, I was told that they were busy and booked my surgery for the following morning. So, I called the next day at the same time, and was told that they got busy again, and pushed the surgery to later that night. I told them to call. They never did. Then, I found out that they scheduled her for the next day without consulting me. I heard they were priced more reasonably, but after I got the run-around for 3 days, I'd pay twice as much to have any procedure performed on time at any other clinic.

They fixed my dog up great after a botch surgery from another vet clinic. she was so infected she stopped eating. Now she is the happiest doggy around. she loves going there the staff know her by name they called and checked up on her after her re-sugery just to make sure she is doing good. they explain everything to you and dont hide anyting. they accept a wide variety of pet insurance and dont do anything without your concent. they send out reminders of when the next vaccinations are. and best they are there for you 24/7 for any reason. i would highly reccomend this vet clinic i wont go any where else.
