I was recommended to try this vet from a police officer friend of mine. I too am an ex police officer. I Highly recommend NOT going to this Vet. I was warned upfront of his Poor Bedside manor. So I've been going here for my pets over 4 years. The last time I took my 19yr old female cat there for IBS. As I've had her there numerous times for it. The vet tech told me as I was leaving that if the meds he prescribed didn't work to call and she'd get me another medication to try. So approximately 3 weeks later I called and the always rude receptionist Holly, told me that she'd check with the Dr. And call me back. A few minutes later she called me back and said, rudely, that Dr Hufnagle said that there's nothing else to give her and recommended a cancer specialist. She's had IBS for 5 years and if it was Cancer she'd be dead by now. This after spending THOUSANDS there. Read his negative reviews. He has Anger issues. I'm seeking legal action. I've been taking my pets to Hufnagel for over 25 years. I began hearing solicitous rumors regarding him and his practice about 5 years in but disregarded them mainly out of convenience and my pets mainly needed routine care and seemingly he provided adequate care. He preformed ACL surgery on a large dog of mine and the surgery went well and never required followup. Now I question whether my dog needed the surgery at all.
I recently took my German shepherd in for a standard vasectomy. When I picked him up after the surgery I was handed an envelope and was told to give the dog the pills if I ever brought him in again. They were sedatives. I was shocked. I have taken him to various vets since and all described him as normally aggressive and even passive. He was VERY groggy and took him a good day to come around. 3 days later, he was still not himself and upon closer examination I noticed what I thought was blood in his scrotum. HVC is one of the best vet clinics in butler county along with his wonderful staff..Dr. Hufnagel is not only a great vet but is very compassionate and extends the best care he possibly can to our pets at a very affordable price. Dr. Hufnagel would rather see your pet happy and healthy as well as the client rather than making a lot of money. He is very great at working with people the best he can to keep costs down so they are able to treat their pets. Dr. Hufnagel gets a 5/5 rating from our family. Our dogs love him and smokey thanks him for fixing his legs so now he'll be able to live a long and happy life...we love you Dr. Hufnagel!!

Inquired in person about a simple OFA radiograph for my dog. Three silly young techs had little idea what I was talking about, kept asking the same questions over and over, and could not seem to understand why I would do such a thing. Are the techs completely untrained in any kind of veterinary medicine? Finally one came out from the back and told me that "We don't do those here," apparently relaying information from an unseen male voice. I have no idea whether she accurately relayed what I was asking, but I do know he didn't bother to come into the front to see about it. This hospital had an opportunity to gain a new long-term customer who owns a lot of animals and does not skimp on health care, but the staff was so silly and ignorant, and the doctor so disinterested, that they blew it. I was asking for a simple procedure that any vet with an x-ray machine can perform. I can't actually rate punctuality or value, but your software insists I do.

I have had several wrong or misdiagnosis. Maybe by just a mistake. But never the less it happened.
