Avoid this place at all costs. My dog was badly misdiagnosed. Was charged for unnecessary tests , and in the end my dog died bc was treated for the wrong reason. He was in pain and pain ,medication was not given. I can go on and on. Please, stay away.

I'm extremely disappointed in this vet. They were only concerned about the money. All I wanted was some antibiotics for my cat and they just kept charging me more money for useless tests. A great sales pitch, I'll give them that. Horrible and really good at convincing you that they care about your pet. Beware of the high costs. Many other vets out there that truly care about your pet. Go somewhere else.

I will agree that their prices are high, I don't think my dog needs to have an exam before dispensing heart wire medication if he has already been taking it for a few months when there are no issues with his health. I don't find their staff either rude or cold. They are busy and maybe don't have time for small talk.

The vets are awesome! Have been coming to Birch and Donovan for 29 years with my Golden and Himalayans. Through this I have had a couple of sick animals and they have been great with them and me. Definitely recommend them.

I have been coming to Whites Rd. Clinic for 20 yrs now and would not go anywhere else. Drs. Birch and Donovan are amazing and saw my first 2 goldens throughout their entire life. Their compassion and sympathy at the end made a very difficult time less scary. I have always said that although they are not the cheapest vets around, they certainly are not the most expensive and they are NOT test happy. The Drs. give you options when it comes to treating your pet but NEVER have I felt that they were upselling a service. Drs. Birch and Donovan are very aware not everyone can afford to spend $$$ and would never think less of anyone for opting not to do something. What people forget is that it is expensive to run a clinic and with our health care system, people have no idea what medical care costs.

I took my cat to them because her tummy seemed to be larger than normal and she was losing weight. They charged me $350 to do blood test and told me that she is completely healthy. A few months later her belly became too large and she looked very thin. I took her back to the clinic and this time the owner of the clinic told me that she must have a tumor and needs xray. I paid for the xray and they told me it was inconclusive. The next step was ultrasound and draining fluid from her belly. They charged me another $600 and told me that it is cancer. When I had to take her to be euthanized, he suggested to have an injection to numb the area for the cost of anther $180. The injection made my cat more agitated and he even did not wait for the injection to work. He gave her he final injection and it only took 10 sec before her heart stopped. He knew that The final injection would be very quick but still wanted to drain money from a heartbroken pet owner. They are only AFTER YOUR MONEY.

I find this Veterinary clinic fabulous. The staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I have had to take our dog there. The cost is very reasonable considering what our previous vet charged. The facilities are very clean .Dr Thompson and Dr Elis are fabulous . They were very honest and very caring about our dog. I would highly recommend going to this Vet Clinic . When we had to put our loving dog down they were so sympathetic and so caring . If we ever get another dog I will definitely be taking ours to this clinic without question.

I personally felt the front and assisting nurse staff were not that friendly. Some people need an attitude adjustment. I can tell the dr's are well educated so I can appreciate what they have to say about my pet. The place is spotless, whomever cleans does a great job. Very pricey however.

My cat is sick with kidney disease. The vet Dr Thomson keep prescribing low protein diets which are known to be totally unsuitable for this condition. My cat got worse as a result and now is getting better after I gave a diet exactly opposite to what he prescribed (high quality protein). This same vet didn't bother to call me after getting some bad news in very pricey tests, I found out only after I called them. They seems to have a taste for money and nothing else. I took my cat out of that clinic for good measure. I agree with other posters about the staff. They barely notice when someone enter.

I trust Dr. Donovan with my pet's life - he's simply a trustworthy veterinarian and really knows his stuff. Not to jump on the bandwagon, but yes, the front staff are terrible. They don't even look up from their computer when I get there and just seem to want to rush you in and out. I completely understand that I'm just one of many clients, but I'm also a paying client who's bringing their animal. I think I deserve a little eye contact or a 'How are you doing'. If it weren't for the fantastic vets here, I'd take my business elsewhere.

I agree with the former comments regarding the staff. Some of the front staff as well as technicians are cold and short. They Don't come across as friendly or inviting. I've been to other vets were as a client was treated like family, my pet was ouu'd and ah'd over. I don't get that impression here. The vets are very knowledgable. Dr Jason and Dr Heather are particularly my favorite. Very informative and friendly. It's nice to have staff that can joke around and converse with clients.

The vets are amazing - they really know their stuff and their prices are reasonable. However, their front staff and some of the technicians are absolutely awful. Aren't receptionists supposed to have people skills???? I go for the vets, NOT the support staff.

I agree with the previous person in saying the staff can be short, the women at the front are not overly nice but all in all this is a nice place to come. All 3 vets are wonderful. There are cheaper places in the area though.

Dr. Donovan and Dr. Birch are two of the best vets around. Some of their staff can be short with you but the two doctors themselves are absolutely amazing; they've saved several of my pets' lives. Thanks for your amazing work with my pets!

Dr. Birch is great for a no nonsense western medicine take on stuff. If you don't want to get stuck with hocus pocus herbals and you just want someone to look at your pet, tell it like it is, and hook you up with the real medication your pet may need, then this clinic is great. We personally also maintain a relationship with a more holistic vet for our pets' routine needs, such as vaccine titres, raw diet support, etc.

Bait and switch tactics. Call for a quote and while your animal is in their care they call back and say oops, we meant another $500 on your bill. Very unscrupulous owners. Profit outweighs your pets needs at this place. The last 3 visits cost more than we were quoted.
