Click to report rating    6/4/21   5     5     5     5   Dr. Karli and his amazing team at Oxford Animal Hospital saved the precious life of our kitten from Uganda. Our son was going to university and working for an NGO in Kampala when he stumbled upon a homeless kitten living under a night club in Kampala. Extremely underweight, malnourished and alone, he couldn’t turn his back. So, he flew her back to Vancouver. The kitten had tape worms, ring worms, round worms and giardia and she appears to have excreted her body weight of them! The kitten suffered a near death experience here but thanks to Dr. Karli and his team she survived when nobody thought it was possible. Today, she’s doubled her weight in two weeks, loves to attack things, and we can’t help noticing her huge ears and long legs. Big thanks to Oxford Animal Hospital!! RID: 69989

2/13/21   5     5     5     5   Thank you to Dr. Karli and his team for saving our cat's life and leg from a terrible infection. We thought maybe the cat would have to have his leg amputated but Dr. Karli said we would try antibiotics and wound treatment and honestly it's really amazing to have watched our cat come back from near death to walking about like his old self, not even limping. We have had many, many visits for bandage changes and wound care over the past few weeks, and everyone at Oxford Animal Hospital has been so kind, so affectionate with all the animals (not just our cat but every animal that I have seen them greet and care for as I've come and gone), knowledgeable, and thoughtful. Their charges for all of this care have been reasonable and clearly explained. Dr. Karli never promised miracles but I feel like we got handed one. RID: 69803
Click to report rating    12/12/20   2     4     4     1   Lack of communication, and not telling us diagnosis or providing a price upfront! Very shady way to do service. lots of pricey treatment without full info of what it’s for. I’m out $1000 before Xmas. I took my puppy for another clinic for a second opinion and received clear communication and a proper diagnosis and dosage instructions for meds. Apparently what she was given by Oxford was not a high enough dosage and she would have not gotten better. A good way to keep sick dogs coming back. RID: 69699

Click to report rating    6/5/13   5     5     5     5   Dr. Karli and the staff are excellent. My dog Rexx loved Dr. Karli from day one. Rexx recently needed knee surgery and I was very happy with the extent of investigation that went into it so we had all the facts. The procedure went well and the advice and support after surgery was excellent. Rexx is doing great. I enthusiastically recommend Oxford to any pet lover. They really do care. RID: 42954
Click to report rating    5/2/13   5     5     5     5   I have been with Oxford Animal Hospital for almost 10 years. The doctors and staff are absolutely fantastic. Everyone takes great care of my three dogs and go above and beyond to ensure my babies get the best care. Recently my oldest one got very sick. We were devastated and helplessly watched as my 15-year-old dog slowly slipped away. The doctors took the necessary steps to find out what was wrong and did their best to keep my dog comfortable. He was diagnosed with a very serious form of hernia that required a very complicated surgery. Another specialist refused the surgery and we were prepared to put my dog down. The doctors at Oxford generously offered to try the surgery and stayed way after clinic hours to rescue my dog. I'm relieved to say that my dog is recovering very well thanks to everyone at Oxford. The surgery was very risky and I cannot believe how fast my dog was up and barking. The aftercare was amazing. I cannot be happier with how everything went. RID: 42239

9/29/12   1     1     1     1   Our family went through hell with this vet... They caused our dog to develop seizures, gave 4 shots in a single visit, a week later had its first seizure at just over a year and a half of age. This vet could have told us to comeback and spread the shots apart but then he wouldn't be able to charge us $500-600 at once. After the dog had seizures they kept calling us back to get bloodwork done, keeping him overnight etc.... Thousands of dollars and a year later the dog was put down after incurring some mental disabilities brought on by the seizures... This vet was even willing to admit that there was a possibility that it was because they administered all those vaccinations at once. This place is all about the money, please stay away RID: 37525
Click to report rating    8/13/12   5     5     5     5   I love this vet! My dog is as sensitive as can be when it comes to going to the groomers or vets. Dr Karli has gained my stubborn dogs trust and he has now gone from getting dragged from the car into the clinic to voluntarily walking in and greeting everyone in sight. Never have I met a doctor that has cared for my pet like he has.I would recommend him to anyone no questions asked! RID: 36483
Click to report rating    8/9/12   5     5     5     5   I have been going to this vet for a few years and all you people who are ****ing about it can shut up and go find anther vet. Dr karli is SO nice and knows what he's talking about. He never charges me the 50$ vet fee and he will always take off a few charges on my bill (shots, etc) he really cares for the animals and is not just in it for the money! If you feel that way then go try and find another vet, there are very few out there that are as good as this one! RID: 36382
Click to report rating    7/5/12   5     5     4     5   I have been seeing Dr. Karli for many years with many pets and have been VERY HAPPY. It took me many years to find a good Vet and came upon Dr. Karli when I unfortunately had to bring in my Lab when she was hit by a car. My vet was closed so I rushed to the next closest hospital. He saved my girl and I have been seeing him ever since. I am not sure about the previous persons experience but I have never found Dr. Karli to suggest anything that isn’t applicable to the situation. He is honest and does not try to sell products you don’t need. He makes suggestions, but never forces you to adhere. I find him to be very down to earth and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone. Thank-you Dr. Karli, Tracy RID: 35450
Click to report rating    5/27/12   1     3     1     1   STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL. I had rescued a dog with a couple of minor problems and brought him to this clinic for some tlc. The staff were nice but the Dr is definitely there to make money. My dog was blind in one eye already and had no problems with it. He wanted to perform surgery to remove it even though it wasnt hurting him. I had some blood work done for a minor skin condition at a cost of 160 dollars. He said It was routine for at least once a year, The clinic called a few months later saying they needed more blood work at another fee. I was not convinced he needed it so I went to port coquitlam animal hospital for a 2nd opinion. I found out I had been paying big money for prescriptions and testing which never needed to be done. I don't recommend this place unless you have deep pockets. If you want to get rid of money I will happily take it for free. RID: 34544
Click to report rating    5/16/12   5     5     5     5   We have been going to Dr. Karli for 9 years now and never once have we had a problem with Dr. Karli himself or the staff there> recently our dog had gotten very sick and we originally thought that he had a stomach infection but really it turned out that he had kidney stones blocking both kidneys. Both Dr. Karli and staff did absolutely everything and anything they could to help up and to make the kidney stones pass, but when Dr. Karli knew he couldnt do anything else he immediately sent us to Canada Wset veterinary hospital. If it wasnt for what Dr. Karli did for us, our dog would not be alive to this day because of the treatment he was providing him and fluids that he was pumping threw for 2 weeks. His prices are unbeliebly reasonable and we as a family have nothing negative to say about this clinic and doctor. He is one of the most generous, sympathic and kindest people we have ever met. The staff is remarkable as well. --- The Wrobel Family. RID: 34283
Click to report rating    5/12/12   5     5     4     5   We have been going to Oxford since we got our puppy. The staff are warm and friendly and the doctors give sound advice. Dr. Karli really goes out of his way and even called twice after our pet's surgery to make sure the recovery was going well. Professional all the way!! RID: 34193
Click to report rating    4/19/12   4     4     4     1   Took our 17 year old Multi-Poo to this clinic. His teeth were bad and some needed to extracted. We were totally nickeled and dimed to death. We wanted to do the right thing for him but our pockets were not bottomless. We ended up taking him back to our original clinic. After comparing, we were charged over $100 more than what our old clinic would have charged. The SAME medicine was $28.00 at our old clinic $54.98 at Oxford. Blood work at our old clinic would have been $99.00 versus $164.00 (then they convinced to have an additional test done for a further $57.00. Would never recommend this clinic. We feel TOTALLY TAKEN.!! RID: 33633
4/3/12   2     5     3     2   Our family had a very bad experience with this clinic - our dog was super sick (do not want to go into detail) and we were having a really hard struggle trying to make the decision whether we should keep him or euthanize him. In the end we made the decision to put him to sleep - but we were constantly bombarded by the clinic telling us to do extra blood work & xrays - which would be for NO BENEFIT to our beloved pooch ... the tests would only highlight what was wrong with him, they would not aid him in the healing process. We spent thousands of dollars and ended up with our best friend just getting worse and worse... I would NOT recommend this clinic, we loved our pup very much & had to lose him because of "medical" (I do not think they asses the breeds uniquely) decisions that were made by the clinic. They have a beautiful location, but half of the staff seems to be "corrupt" - I hope others do not have the same experiences as we did. I am just sharing our sad experience with them... RID: 33319
Click to report rating    11/24/11   5     5     5     5   We've received such wonderful service. The one time the Vet was late they didn't bill us for that service. They are not pushy but will give you all the options.Kind, caring atmosphere and they don't rush you out the door.Teresa RID: 29363
Click to report rating    6/17/11   5     5     5     5   I have been bringing my 17 1/2 year old dog to Dr. Karli for the past 10 years. He and Dr. Ina are wonderful and excellent vets who give absolutely the best service. Their pricing is fair compared to other places and they really care about the animals and offer practical advice. They take their time to explain and discuss everything and they have taught me so much valuable information (ie. diet, supplements, how to administer Sub-Q fluids) which has allowed my dog to live a very good quality, long and healthy life. The staff are all friendly and caring too. The office is very clean and well run. Their location and parking is convenient too. I highly recommend them! RID: 25677
Click to report rating    5/24/11   5     5     4     4   Overall experience was wonderful! We had the chance to meet both Dr. Karli and Dr. Ina - both are very knowledgable and caring. We were given all the options and the prices for those options. We did have to wait a little longer for our appointment, but they explained that they had an emergency earlier in the day and they had fallen behind schedule a little. After checking the prices of services at other hospitals, they are not the least expensive, but they are very comparable and they don't seem to be overpriced. All the staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful - and we weren't totally ignored while we waited for our appointment. Everyone took the time to come out and meet our dog. We had a chance to visit the back of the hospital while Dr. Karli checked his eyes and everything was very clean and tidy - no unpleasant odors that we had noticed in other facilities. We would gladly recommend Dr. Karli and his hospital to anyone! RID: 25188
Click to report rating    3/16/11   1     1     1     1   Horrible clinic. They charge you for every little thing. My regular vet has never charged for re checks for the same condition! The doctor throws antibiotics at every little thing. Including Kennel cough which at the time I didn't know doesn't do anything for a virus. Next time I can't get into my regular vet I'll just wait. Staff don't seem very knowledgeable RID: 23597
Click to report rating    12/16/10   5     5     5     5   Everybody is exceptionally kind and they take great care of your pet(s). I have been with them for years and never had any problems, my dog is happy and healthy. I would definitely recommend oxford animal hospital. RID: 21443
Click to report rating    10/2/10   5     5     5     5   Just moved to BC and tried Tricity Vet for my cat as the ratings were good. Not happy at all so went thought I'd give Oxford a try seeing they were close to home and got some good reviews. I was very happy. They were super nice and the vet was awesome. Felt very confident in this vet compared to Tricity. He was very knowledgable and trustworthy. I have 2 cats so I am happy I found a new vet that I can trust. Their prices were good and not overpriced. RID: 20035
Click to report rating    9/30/10   5     5     5     4   It is a very nice, clean and well organized hospital, both doctors are understanding and all the staff is super friendly. I'd recommend Oxford to anyone! RID: 20008
Click to report rating    6/24/10   1     5     4     1   I took my dog there for an eye problem. He was given antibiotics and an eye cream I brought him back for a follow apt and was then told he needs surgery immediately!! I took him to my regular vet for a 2nd opinion. Surprise surprise, My dog was NOT given the proper amount of antibiotics and was given the wrong eye ointment with wrong directions!!! HE DID NOT NEED SURGERY!!! with the proper antibiotics and cream he was perfectly FINE!!! I wasted $200 at the vet for nothing and was pushed to buy some vitamins that i later found out had nothing to do with his eye condition at all!!!! I would def BE VERY CAREFUL of going to this vet.!! Besides that the technician that took my dogs temperature was VERY VERY RUDE and abrupt with my dog and hurt him !!!! UNACCEPTABLE!! RID: 18529
Click to report rating    5/18/10   4     5     5     4   Both Vets are friendly, professional and caring, even though our kitten gets extremely upset and angry when going to the vet (his behavior only makes Dr Karli chuckle). Brand new facilities that appear very clean. Both Dr. Karli and Dr. Ina do not push unnecessary procedures on you. Vet Staff called and followed up after the cat's neuter to see how he was doing and if I had any questions. Very satisfied all around. RID: 18009
Click to report rating    5/11/10   5     5     5     5   I can Honestly say, finding a vet for my boy cat has been tough, but with oxford animal hospital it came easy for my kitty and i! Dr. Ina I will have to say is a miracle workier. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff actually care about you and your animals! They made it feel as comfortable as you can at a vet office! I will say I HIGHLY recommend this animal hospital to anyone in Port Coquitlam! RID: 17901
