I can't understand how anyone could say anything bad about this place. I only trust this place with my pets now after a vet killed my dog. They have always been very compassionate, they work with you if you don't have the money unlike all the other money hungry vets out there. This place is the best. Today I had to put my 20 year old cat down and the vet who did it (i cant remember her name as I was so upset) but she was the nicest most compassionate vet I have ever met in my life and she did it so peacefully - I wish I could remember her name as she deserves recognition. Great place the best

Most expensive vet place with rude staff. This is not gov't owned or runed. Its a private business over charging pet owners. Save money and get respect by going somewhere else.

Very first visit, my cat is really sick and lost weight. I get this vet tall thin guy with very hard to understand French accent. Tells me this and that bad teeth etc. He takes my cat into the back to hydrate him and wants my to do all these test and stuff that cost $398.00 He comes back with my cat and says oh the sugar is too high. I say ok i do blood test. In my return I ask for another vet that ha clear english. I get vet Dr. Upjohn and he shows me how to apply the insulin and he never mention about the teeth. So last vet trying to scam me. I'm low income so my discount hardly put a dent in the fee's? I was told to buy all the stuff. I found free needles now instead of pay them $36.00 for a box. It seems every place in town wants $200.00 for visit and blood test. They warn this is going to cost $$$$ so maybe you should release your pet to the shelter. I said never will I do that. They will put it down the next day or when I leave to save money. They prey on us pet owners Just be ca

I trust the SPCA very much. All the vets care so much for the animals' wellness and health. They practice with a mindset of having your animals best interests at heart, not for the monetary profit. SPCA will not sedate hospitalize or perform surgery on your pet unless it is absolutely necessary, this is very important to me. Your pet shouldn't be put into further hardship or suffering and go under the knife if it is not necessary. In turn, this moral value of the SPCA have many times saved us on expensive vet bills on unnecessary overnight hospitalizations. The price points for vaccinations, examinations, medications and surgeries are lower than many of the local private Veterinarian Clinics in Metro Vancouver.I haven't found a Vet that will takes my pets well-being as first priority at all times over profit. I have 3 cats and a dog, we all go to the SPCA.Often there is a long wait, most of the staff are friendly but in the end I know my SPCA vet bills goes to a good cause.

We really don't like Dr. Russell at the SPCA in Vancouver. She tried to add on tests that she has already done and doesn't look in our dog's file. She made us get an Xray of our dogs heart which didn't show anything and no one ever told us the results of. Dr. Ghorrie is much better and really cares. Unfortunately, she's only there on Mondays.

Stay away from anything associated with the SPCA, the chargers are excessive compared to anywhere else.

Cindy who answers the phone is nothing but rude, actually this is why we eventually switched. They used to have a really nice red head girl at the front counter who would remember everyone and their pets.. now it's just a couple of rude girls who laugh at concerned pet owners that don't speak english. Vets are alright, they like to bring our stable (for several years) hyper thyroid cat in for blood tests every couple of months for money. Everything costs more then normal, which is ok because the money also helps animals that wouldn't otherwise be helped. They should think about re staffing though, the overall attitude of cindy will ruin the whole hospital!
