Borderview Veterinary Hospital mentioned they're affiliated with Niagara Emergency Veterinarian Hospital and said I could call them. Well, wouldn't you know it, they also said they couldn't accommodate me when making the horrible decision to euthanize my 19yrs medium size dog. They indicated that it's not an emergency and that to call back another day. In dealing with Vets for almost 20yrs, add this to your list to avoid at all costs. I am going to rate them on https://www.vetratingz.com/AddRating.... as well. Both of these businesses (and that's all they are - heartless) are just in it to provide you an invoice.

One of our litter of 6 week old puppies wasn't eating and had diarrhea and was losing weight. We took him to this vet clinic hoping to find out what was wrong. They did all sorts of tests on him, put him on an iv and kept him overnight. They called th next day to say he was still alive but very weak and didn't think he would make it. They wanted to keep him another night on the iv for an extra $500. We decided to pick him up because it had already cost us almost $1200. The vet said that he may have neurological problems or perhaps water on the brain. Long story short ... we wormed him and nursed him back to health. I don't understand why they wouldn't have checked for worms in a 6 week old puppy.I won't be going back there again!

The worst sort of vets. Care about company protocol that makes them money rather than individual pet health. Take your business elsewhere.

my son took our dog 3 months old to this place at 5 am due to having worms .Staff was very bad . Madical exam din't last longer than 2 minutes . So called vet doctor looked into his mouth and did temperature. Didn't offer deworming any other treatment .She left our puppy screaming on the floor and charged 196 dollars for 2 minutes so called exam. On the top of that threatened our son to call police if he is not paying with cash .Shame .Big shame . We vent to the regular veterinarian very first time . Two sets of dewormnig medication ,two vaccines , all exams , cost us 111. $. Niagara veterinary emergency clinic , stay away from them . Don't care about animals and don't respect you too.

Took my female rottweiler there. This clinic did every test known(x-rays,ultra sound,blood work,biopsies etc....) miss diagnosed her to have pancreatitis and treated her for same. Her condition declined rapidly! She was put through agonizing pain and discomfort!! Ultimately she died. Took all their test results to her regular vet where he diagnosed her with a ruptured spleen!! She was there 3 days and 2 nights for a mere $4,500.K that they wanted upfront and in cash!! staff very cold and uncaring towards both myself and my girl. She even fell in their care almost knocked her dead when she hit the floor! Far to many negative things about this facility to list them all.

My dog was bit in the ear by another dog; it looked pretty bad, but the Vet said even though it looked bad, that it would heal on it's own, however it would heal faster with a stitch. The added stitch would have been an additional 400.00 on top of 318.00 that we paid for the visit, antibiotics, and pain medication. We asked if I could take her to my own vet in the morning and they said yes, it could still be stitched in the morning. My Vet at first refused to look at my dog, stating the Emergency clinic claimed I refused to have the "stitch". When my Vet finally agreed to look at her, she needed 22 stitches. I was not impressed with how this was handled at all.

This clinic saved my cat's life and spared him a lot of pain which he was going through daily. In the long run, we saved thousands of dollars because of the doctors' advise at this after hours hospital. It is more expensive than your regular vet but well worth the money for the expertise and excellent care they will give your pet. Our cat has megacolon and gets severely constipated regularly. Our regular vet had him on a special diet, a liquid medication, pills daily (all of which were hard to give him) and which were costing a lot of money monthly as well as having to see the vet repeatedly for exams, enemas, x-rays. We were heading towards surgery to save his life, but this clinic advised us to use PEG 3350 (human laxative) - 1/4-1/2 teaspoon twice daily and he has been going to the bathroom effortlessly ever since. No more meds other than this laxative which you can buy at Wal-Mart. We mix it in the gravy of soft food or other liquid. He laps it up because it is tasteless. This will

Horrible experience. Was not seen in a timely fashion. They only cared about the money. Outrageously priced. The staff was not very knowledgeable or warm and welcoming.

Overall I had a great experience. I rush my cat in on a Saturday night and was seen quite quickly! Overall the staff was great, although the receptionist was rude when I said I didn't have a family vet yet. The Dr and Vet Tech took great care of my cat and overall I was very happy.

This is a horrible facility. The staff are bottom of the barrel and seem more like sales people then anything else. In the time we had our dog in we heard to vet quote $800 to 3 different people for x-rays trying to push it on everyone. Ended up charging us $350 to tell us he was constipated and couldn't answer any of our questions. Constipation does not cause 2/3 of the symptoms he is having. The Vet just stuttered and **** around every question!! Then when as asked for a break down of what we are paying for they pretty much ignored our request. I will not be recommending this clinic. Think 2ce before using this clinic

I took my dog here recently and was not impressed with them at all. At the time, I just wanted to get care for my dog who was visibly uncomfortable. They ended up performing surgery (after laughing at me for being nervous about it and having a panic attack). The staff at the door were fantastic, but the vet (Dr. Matthew's) was VERY insensitive. My dog didn't even like him, barking at him for quite some time (my dog does not usually bark at anyone). An hour of their time cost me $600. I followed up with my vet the next business day and she told me the entire procedure was unnecessary and the medication they prescribed my dog will not help him at all, just sedate him so the pain doesn't bother him. So those expensive medications were tossed and I had to pay for ones that will actually help him. I will NEVER go back there.

We want to thank everyone at the clinic for the kindness and compassion they showed during our dog Malone's last hour. We had top notch service from Carly and Dr Riddle, even when the needle was placed into our dogs arm, they went above and beyond and placed a heart sticker onto the dressing, and then proceeded to tie some of our dogs hair into a ribbon for our own keepsake. We could not have imagined that we would have had to put him down that night, but could not have chosen a better place to be. Thank you SO very much for everything.

Several of my animals may not be alive today if not for this clinic. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Every penny. This place gives us pet owners a place to rush our pets when we can't get to our regular vets. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a facility like this.The staff here were very kind and took excellent care of our animals.

I moved from Oakville and had an Ermergency bite wound incident. The staff triage nurse was great but the treatment and assessment time was pitiful and there was only one other client. When a vet brings a calculator into the treatment room, you know they are all about the money. I found the vet to be very slow in a crisis and very inexperienced.

Took my 7 year old cat Lilly here March 3, 2012 because she was not herself. Doctor found out after testing her kidneys failed and she was slowly shutting down. Heartbreaking moment and I ended up putting her to sleep. However, the staff and doctors at this animal hospital were amazing. I cannot thank them enough for their services.

We found out our little Golden puppy had parvo 2 days after we brought him home. This animal hospital was so great, they treated him and called us with his updates and said we could call whenever we wanted to check on him. They nursed him back to health and he came home yesterday. All the staff was great and they were all pulling for him. I would not hesitate to go back if the need arised, they truly are a compassionate bunch of people that feel the way we do about our pets! We could never thank them enough they gave our little boy a second chance!

I can't say enough good things about this emergency vet hospital. We have had dying animals go there and they treated us with compassion and consideration. They are very professional and give really good explanations. If you have a sick animal there they encourage calls and visitations. The Vets come out and talk to you about your animal whenever they are free. I would not hesitate going back to them. Their hospital is extremely clean and well kept and the dogs that are just boarding for health care reasons have very luxurious living conditions where the staff can keep a constant watch over them. Very impressive service and well worth the money for your valued pet.
