I've been taking my cat to this clinic for years now. I recently called to make an appointment and was informed that Dr. O'Toole is the only vet working there now. I wouldn't be surprised if all the competent vets quit. I've only seen him once and swore I would never book with him again. He was blatantly rude to his staff in front of me and other customers and was very rough with my cat. The only reason I haven't stopped going there is because all the other staff were so fantastic. Well now's the time to finally leave. I had a great experience at Prince Edward clinic once whose staff stayed late to see my cat in an emergency when Bloor West wouldn't even consider it. I think I'll start taking him there.

I truly wish I had the ability to rate this veterinary clinic zero stars. If you cherish and love your pet, do NOT bring them to this Animal Hospital.
My healthy happy 3 year old Labrador recently tragically died due to wood getting stuck in his intestines. Dr. O'toole was Unempathetic, unkind and blatantly dismissive to my family. I do not feel confident in any of the care which Coby received, and we will regret that he had his surgery done by Dr. O'toole for the rest of our lives. I can only hope that no one else's beloved family member will suffer like my sweet dog did in Dr. O'tooles terrible level of care.

Been going there since it opened, always had a great experience, have recommended it to many friends and all have excellent experiences as well! Staff are very friendly, the vets are knowledgeable and don't try and "upsell" you in any way. My dog is always treated with respect and love. Not sure about the bad reviews I see on here, certainly not my experience at all!

Had multiple bad experiences here and so has other people that I've spoken to about this place. The veterinarian doesn't really seem interested in what he's doing and many clients can sense that. Something is very off about this place. Thumbs down.

The staff at BWV Animal Hospital are incredibly accommodating. It's obvious they genuinely care about your animal's health & wellbeing. Vet bills are notoriously high but I feel the clinic provides good value. I did not get the sense my cat was being "over prescribed" either. If cost of pet care is a concern consider Pet Insurance!

Not impressed at all. Spent $150 for them to tell me nothing about my cat. Found the doctor aggressive and rude. Told me my cat was too worked up to get tested, but expected me to give him a pill orally myself. Which I thought was ridiculous. All they said was he's old and billed me $150 for 15mins of nothing I didn't already know.

I have given this place too many chances to provide any sort of quality services to my dogs and cat, and I must say enough is enough. I have no idea how this place is still running with this much unprofessionalism. Dr. O'Toole has very limited knowledge in veterinary medicine and just prescribes medications to fix every problem. He is hard to reach and very aggressive when you ask him questions. I would never recommend him to anyone or ever come back here again with my pets.

Every time I've brought my animals here, I have never gotten a good vibe from the main doctor. Seems to brush concerns off and his recommendations are just to prescribe medications. He is quite forceful to my pets when examining them and also has a very harsh tone when speaking to clients, and very pushy when trying to catch him on the phone. Don't think I will be returning here any time soon.

I have been taking both my cats here for the past 2 years. I have only had good experiences whenever I take my cats there. They have always been able to set us up with an appointment and have also been on time. The vets have always treated my cats very well and my cats have always been comfortable while there. The staff are always friendly and polite, and I have found the value of the visits to be fair and reasonable.

I went here with my puppy and was happy until they refused to see him when he was in respiratory distress in an emergency situation. They were open with an hour to close, but flat our said, "sorry we're all booked up". This is not the type of treatment one expects from a vet. Very disapointed with them.

Dr chris o Toole is a complete goof and souldnt not be allowed to practice on animals.its very obvious from the way he treats and talks to animals that he has 0 compassion or understanding so its pretty weird to me that owns vet practice. I made special arrangements for my dog because he has separation anxiety and he gets nervous easy the still treated my dog like trash. He asked me to to leave the room but I didn't I waited around the corner and heard Dr tool saying"what the F us wrong with these people""why wouldn't they muzzle this F'n dog""tell him to come in here and get this F'n dog even worse is I had only went around the corner for 30 seconds.it takes 30 seconds for a senior vet to lose his temper with a dog with known anxiety issues that to me is pathetic.after all that I came around the corner to say we are done here in witch he responded by dropping the leash and saying here take him with a annoyed tone.o tool is terrible vet and coward at best don't take your animals here

Horrible experiences and horrible vet. Vet's mood changes from "friendly" to rough and uncaring instantaneously. I've come here multiple times with both my dogs and cat and you can tell he really dislikes cats. Very impatient and extremely hard to get a hold of as he barely returns phone calls and rushes conversations when you finally get a hold of him. Dislike, dislike, dislike!

Do yourself and your pet a favor and go somewhere else. This vet (by schooling only) has no compassion and is only worried about his pay cheque. Our dog has been ill for a month under his care with little improvement. He is well aware of this. This morning we woke and our dog was in distress. We called to explain our situation and the best the staff could do was book an appointment later in the day. We decided to take here there ASAP anyway. All we wanted was 5 min of the vets time to access this new condition and all we got was "no". At that point we felt we had enough of this attitude and asked for our records we are going elsewhere. The staff then rushed into the back to inform him that we were leaving and only then did he come out to access our dogs condition. He saw money walking out the door and then decided our dogs heath was important. This vet is rude and arrogant and should be in another line of work. GO ELSEWHERE !!!

I've taken both my dog and cat here, and Dr. Chris O'Toole does not seem knowledgable, patient, or animal-friendly at all. He is very aggressive when handling my pets even though both are both very docile and friendly. Do not let him take your pets to the back treatment either, there were times where you could hear him screaming, banging and even cursing! Imagine what he does when you're not in the room! I would never come here again and highly recommend no one else to either. Don't let the large facility fool you, he is neither nice or professional.

Dr.Chris O'toole is a cruel, insensitve ,coward!!! He put my dog to sleep but he gave her 5 sedatives actually he got amy to do it cause he is a spinless coward. MY dog was muzzeled and cause she growled he gave her too many sedatives when after sed number 2 she couldnt even stand. Chris made my dog suffer before she died and he is a idiot for that. He is too opinionated and he rios off customers. He has hardly no business cause he stinks as a Vet. My mistake for going there . It was close to home and I regret ever bringing my pet there to start cause she always hated him.

Happy to have found a vet where we are comfortable discussing the concerns at hand without being made to feel like we are penny pinching. That being said, when we needed immediate help with surgery for our pup with a skin growth they took care of him and helped us find the best solution for us. Both docs have been available to us for phone consult initially to determine whether we need to come in for treatment (our dog was stung by wasp and his foot was three times it's normal size and another time he was sprayed in the eyes by a skunk). We'll be taking our three guys (dog and two cats) here because it provides the right treatment without pushing for the limit of spending. Thanks BWV Animal HOspital! You definitely found a niche in the neighborhood...

I've been to this vet 3 times and they all have been a positive experience. I never feel like I'm being forced to buy things/treatments when not necessary and I've always been given different treatment options. I also like that the vet (Dr O'Toole) is fine with giving some vaccines every 3 years. The clinic is very clean, and staff are very nice.

I agree with the other poster. You definitely get what you pay for. I may go there for vaccines, but not for anything else. They seemed really proud to be the cheapest vet in the area, but they definitely aren't the best. I was seen on time, but I was also the only person in the clinic at the time.

This hospital was the cheapest in the area, however i felt that i got what i paid for. I may contiune to use them for my dogs annual appointments but nothing else.
