Will never use this vet again! I left several messages for Dr. Underwood when our dog got very sick which he had told me to call if she got worse and I did and no call back. I even tried to track him down on FB and no response from him. Our beloved fur baby did pass away and we were devasted. I of course get a call back from him the next day and told me bring our dog in but it was too late she had died the night before. Nothing can bring her back but he could have done more and his staff could have made my calls more of a priority.

I love Dr. Underwood! I almost had to put my dog to sleep because I couldn't afford to have her TTA knee surgery done but he helped me out and truly cares only about the animals! Amazing man and because of him my baby is staying part of my life! There is no way I could ever repay him for what he's done for my baby he will never truly know what he has done for me! There isn't enough words to describe how thankful I am too him! My baby can finally walk again and surgery took 4 hours! Hes truly an amazing person and so are his staff! God bless him and his staff!

We have used Dr. underwood for over 13 yrs. and have always been pleased with his services,large and small aniamls!first thought of someone trying to send someone to another vet in a review is maybe they need to check their on morals at the door!Wonder of the three mentioned in 2007 how many are still around?

He is an amazing Veterinarian. Horses and animals come first. Anytime day or night he always helps. I have known him for about 15 years. He is the only Veterinarian I trust 100%. The bad reviews on here must be from people that do not understand a vet's job. If you treat him right he will treat you right. I will never move out of his working area.

I have the highest respect for Dr. Underwood and his staff. With Dr. Underwood you get an honest, hardworking, knowledgeable vet who will tell you the truth and educate you. I wouldn't trust my horse to anyother practice.

I have used Kirk as a vet for 9 years. He has been very accommodating to our borders who have financial troubles. Also he is very passionate about the animals he cares for. The only person I know claimed to dislike him was caught by underwood for claiming to have credentials and experience that they truly did not!! This is 1 st hand knowledge .

Our family has had Dr. Underwood as out vet for over 5 years. He currently sees large and small animals alike. He is very knowledgeable and also accommodating to financial situations. He is a person who treats with respect and enjoys sharing his knowledge with anyone who will listen. His staff is awesome!!! He's treated our dog for heart worm and was very careful with her. He's treated our barn for STRANGLES and several lameness issues. He is not shy about letting you know what he thinks about a situation, good or bad, but is very tactful about it. Our whole family loves Dr. Underwood and his staff. We cannot recommend a better vet for your needs.

Dr. Underwood has been my trusted vet for 7 years. He has been MORE than accommodating when I lived outside of his normal "rounds" area, more than accommodating with my financial situation. Kirk is always honest, always fair, and always has the best interest of the horse at mind. I could not recommend and more genuine, and trustworthy vet for you to use for your horse. Like others said, he is warm and greats you wit a hug, and treats our horse as if it were his own!

Dr Underwood is a very intelligient and professional individual, yet still approachable as a person. He always speaks his mind and tries to do whats best for the horse (if the owner so desires). I would recommend him all the way!

Great vet. Saved the life of my horse when he had rare complications from strangles and has been nothing but supportive and understanding of my panicky moments in caring for my very sick horse...and my financial concerns as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, thoughtful, and more than qualified veterinarian.

Dr. Underwood is on call 24, 7 and is the vet. for many of the top boarding and show facilities in north west Atlanta. He has been our vet for over 10 years and though our boarders can choose their own vet 95% of them use Dr. Underwood. He seems to always be on call and he treats your horse as if it were his own child. Keep in mind that with these postings people are far more likely to take the time to rate someone if they had a bad experience than if they had a good one. Those who are disgruntled with him are only that way because he doesn't always tell you what you want to hear, but he does tell you the truth and tells you what's best for your horse. Also not that he needs the ratings considering he cares for probably more than 1/2 the horses in Cobb County I like to make sure people know what a great vet he is.

This rating system doesn't allow expression of trustworthiness or skill level, unfortunately. Dr. Underwood has very little respect or concern for the horse and its owner. He talks disparagingly about customers to others, and has made misdiagnoses and exercised some very poor judgment that has resulted in spreading of disease in large boarding facilities. In the Cobb/Douglas/Cherokee area I recommend Cherie Booker, Jennifer Neese or Rose Coker.

Dr. Kirk Underwood demostrates poor judgement and care. He is an Equine Veterinarian who can't be trusted with the care of your animal. He treats you with a smile but is very unethical.
