Have been taking pets here for about 30 years, new owners now. Very annoying place. EVERY time I call to place an order for our 14 year old dog, they want to call us back after they check to see if they have everything in stock. Each time I tell them we’re going to be out and about and will pick it up. We aren’t going to wait for a call. Check it now! Then later, we receive an email to make an appointment to book for her yearly exam and are encouraged to book on line, so I did that. Since then, we get a reminder to book our appointment.....then the very next day, confirmation of the appointment also by mail. I don’t get it. We’ve booked on line! Why not check on line to see if we’ve booked before wasting paper and postage.....too annoying. This place needs to get organized, and would save $ at the same time. It’s about convenience for the staff ONLY.

Our dog has been here for the past 10 years, lately the care is more about their bottom line than the animal. We have spent 1000.00 in the last 6 weeks and still have no answers. We are very frustrated and will be seeking a second opinion.

Utter negligence at this clinic. My brother's dog was not doing well for a few days, so he scheduled an appointment. His dog was so sick that she would no longer walk, and my brother had to carry her into the appointment. They ran some tests, gave her IV fluids, charged him $500 and said that she was fine, just bring her in for more fluids the following day. My brother had to carry her out of the appointment, and she wasn't doing any better. She died in my brothers arms in his house 2 hours after leaving their clinic. My brother will forever live with these horrible memories, watching her die, and having to carry her dead body around, driving to another clinic to have her cremated. He has to live with a sense of guilt that he should have done something more, but he trusted these people. Any person with eyes should know that his dog was not doing well, that he had to physically carry her out of the clinic. Saying she was fine and sending them on their way was straight up negligence.

Have been a client since 1977. Punctuality can be an issue because they will spend as much time as necessary and also treat client emergencies.

Knowledgable, respectful and attentive. All staff are polite and pleasant. Take time to greet both pets and their humans. Utilizing this practice for 11 years and only wish our health care system ran as well as this clinic.

Put it this way... My dog is never anxious about visiting Mills Haven Veterinary Clinic, she wags her tail and is excited to see everyone there, in fact she hams it up for attention and treats from the staff. Can you say that about your pets relationship with their vet? For the past 13 years I have taken my Labrador to see the Dr's and staff at Mills Haven for checkups, vaccinations and the occasional sickness/emergency. Sometimes visiting a Veterinarian Clinic is a traumatic experience for both the pet and pet owner, through it all the staff and Dr's have tried their best to be as accommodating as possible from squeezing us in to phoning to follow up. Thank you to everyone there for making "my old girl" as happy, healthy and pain free as she is.

I have taken my pups to this clinic for 15 years. I have found them to be nothing but top notch. Caring & knowledgeable. I love the front desk staff & technicians as well as the doctors. When one was terminal they calked me every couple of days to see how she was. I have called in with questions and they check with the doctors or the doctors will call back. Your pet is family here. And it has to be one if the cleanest facilities. Would never consider going elsewhere.

I have been taking my dogs to Mills Haven for over 14 years. Nothing but top notch care and compassion. My dog was put to sleep last summer and I wouldn't have taken him anywhere else.

We have been taking our dog to this vet for the last two years. Over the last 3 months we have brought the dog in twice, spent over $300. for exams and medications. Took the dog to our groomer and she diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes. Mills Haven did not reimburse us 1 cent. NOT going back.

For the past 3 years we have taken both our cats here for their appointments and checkups. They have always been kind and caring with both our cats and have answered all of our questions. We may still bring our cats here even when we move out of Sherwood Park.

I have been talking my dogs there for the last 15 years and will be changing thus week. The new vets their just want to take your money. We had one vet that checked our one dog for cancer and said she was fine. When we went in for the yearly check up the next vet wanted to check her again for cancer in the same spot for 170.00 dollars or she would not give the yearly shots. So we paid the money and the same result no cancer.Always running 30-40 minutes late and the front staff is rude. Not very good hours.

I have nothing but good to say about this clinic. All the Doctors and staff are very helpful and kind. I went through a long year of testing and treatment for my dog and it allowed me the extra time I had with him. I never questioned the cost and was always advised of those costs for any treatment.

Our dog had surgery 2 months after being diagnosed with legg perthes. We waited for surgery on the vet's recommendation. During the two month wait we took our dog for acupuncture, ultra sound and laser treatments to help ease his pain. We also tried to get him to swim to prevent muscle loss. The surgeon called me after the surgery and basically accused me of neglect due to the condition of his leg. Once I got to the clinic the surgeon apologized and admitted she had performed the surgery and called me without reading his chart. She stated she only read what she needed to perform the fho and not that we waited based on the advice of the vet, her employee. We were given a bill for the surgery and asked to speak to the surgeon before paying, it suddenly jumped 100$ from what it was at first. The office manager yelled at me across the waiting room to pay before I talked to the surgeon. They were only concerned with making money. I wish I had gotten a 2nd opinion.

We had to put our 17 yr old cat down. She hadn't been to the vet for awhile so they said they need to do a medical ($60 - $70). This is a standard practice for many vets. We refused to pay it demanding to know why she needed a medical when she'd be asleep in 15 minutes. After our refusal to pay they did deduct the medical...other than that we'd gone to this vet for over 20 years and they were excellent. Still, we didn't question their fees or check around. In encourage all people to take a stand against stupid practices. Also we found out on a CBC show that you can take vet prescriptions to drug stores and in many cases get the same drug much cheaper. Check out CBC.
