We rushed our cat to the Emergency Clinic on a holiday weekend, suffering acute renal failure as a result of a tragic overdose of Metacam, given as prescribed by an incompetent local vet. We arrived angry and suspicious and left 4 long days later with a profound sense of respect and gratitude. The staff went into quiet action, starting immediate dialysis and calming both our cat and ourselves. Our many questions were answered in a competent and forthcoming way. We were given as much information as was possible in an alarming situation. To our surprise, we were invited to visit almost any time and to stand by her cage in the ward, giving us all a much needed sense of reassurance.The staff, both medical and administrative demonstrated the utmost competence, cooperation and vigilance. Thanks to the Emergency Clinic, our cat survived her ordeal. Although her kidneys are permanently impaired as a result of this overdose, she is now, a year later, a happy and loving member of our family.

Took a poor injured dog here for help, was charged $118 to be seen for less than 2 minutes. Once we got in, the doctor did nothing but say more tests needed to be done for $800. They wanted an overnight stay, fluids, xrays. We went to see Dr Temper on Rt 32 (845) 336-8700, charged us $35 for an exam, $70 for an Xray, total $105, they spent more time and were MUCH more caring, took care of him right there and then. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. In my opinion, doctors are supposed to use their judgement and do the right thing...these people run a million unneccesary tests and charge dramatically higher rates. This is taking advantage of people at their weakest moment. Horrible business. STAY AWAY!
