9/18/08   2     2     1     2   I took my cat there and was told he has asthma and a minor enlarged heart. They kept him for a couple of days and treated him for asthma. I brought him home with meds and paid a huge bill. He was still the same. Went to our vet(the reason at St Francis is because it was late at nite), they called another vet and sent me there within 30 minutes. The cat had congestive heart failure and died. I am upset that he had suffered under their care. The new vet was upset with the care he had gotten. Had he been able to live if given the proper care. We will never know. I will never use this place again. The other problem was that I only got to see the vet the nite I brought him in. The rest of the time it was tech. If you cherish your animals stay away from this place. They over charge and under care for your pet, a part of your family. RID: 10041
Click to report rating    9/16/08   1     1     1     1   i had a horrible time at st. francis. there were some complications with my pregnant dog and they told me she was fine, and that night she aborted. the next morning i took her back and all they were interested in was money. i had to make down payments before they would think about helping me. i went home and waited to here how my dog's surgery went, and they called me, 2 hrs later, to tell me they needed more money before proceeding with the surgery! my normal vets office c-section costs $345, and st. francis is charging me a min of $600! the whole thing will cost me nearly $1500. i reported them to the better business bureau. and i wont ever take my dog back there RID: 10009

Click to report rating    11/29/07   1     3     1     1   I am a recent transplant to the area and needed a vet for my cats. My first experience involved waiting over 1 hour (past my appointment time) with my sick cat, before the veterinarian came into the room to diagnose the situation. I should have got the hint then, but I returned again recently and left my cat for treatment. Upon picking her up, while the office was unbusy, they took over 1 hour to delivery my cat. Then when I received my bill they over charged for the take home food as well as double charging for the hospital stay. I am currently litigating the situation. The office for the most part is run by very young female technicians. Some are nice, some have attitude problems. I even spoke the one of the attending veterinarians about my concerns and she was very rude and unprofessional. I have since found a new veterinarian and would highly recommend that no one who really loves their animal visit St. Francis. RID: 6516
Click to report rating    6/8/07   3     3     3     1   Took my dog there when my regular vet was closed. After all was said and done, my charge was over 3,000.00. I had to put my dog to sleep, and a freind paid 180.00 on a credit card for that and cremation. Due to other events in my life, I was not able to pay the last half of my balance due to bankruptcy. They have a policy of not returning the ashes if there is an outstanding balance, even though my bankruptcy discharged the debt. My friend who paid for the cremation tried to talk to them and was invited to leave. They called me at home and told me my daughterinlaw could not return , either. I would not recommend a vet with a policy like this. Beware! RID: 4449
Click to report rating    5/18/07   1     3     1     1   We took our 7 year old dog there, who had somehow ripped a hole in his front foot at around 10:00am. Waited in a room with my dog for almost an hour, and then had to leave him there until midnight. We called several times, and they hadn't treated him yet. We finally were able to go get him. We were quoted $200 to $250 to sew him up. They charged us $380. When I asked why, was told that was "the way it goes" Asked the vet if he should have a cone over his head, as we had told him the dog was a licker, and the VET said "no, he should be OK, just bring him back if he picks at them." During the middle of the night, of course, the dog tore the stitches out. We took him back, and $150 later, he was stitched up again, this time with a cone. The Vet had an attitude, the staff had an attitude, they kicked another irate customer out in front of me, who had evidently been fleeced as well, as near as I could tell from the conversation. Turned them into the BBB, and complaining to the state. RID: 3989
Click to report rating    2/27/07   1     1     1     1   i had to take my 3 month old puppy because he was throwing up and sick they treated me like i was a bad person put me in this little room that was at least 90 degrees so hot i was sweating they reufused to let me leave the room. they told me the total would be $96 dollars when i went to check out it some how was now $243. i said thats not right and the response i got was its not my problem. talk to management..management still to this day ( its been a month ) has not bothered to call me. that night at 4am my puppy now was swollen he looked like a balloon and his eyes were all puffy i called st.francis to let them know n they said it wasn't their problem they refused to see me and if i came back i'd have to pay more money on top of what i already owed them. i reported them to the better business bureau and because of that st.francis sent me off to collections. i have reported them to the local columbian and news agency here in vancouver. i would not recommend them they aren't religious. Click to report rating    2/11/07   5     5     5     5   This vet clinic is one of two in the area that handle exotic pets as well as the usual ones. They are open 24 hrs a day 7 days a week. I take my 3 Sugar Gliders there. A good friend that breeds exotic animals highly recommended St. Francis to me. I can call St. Francis and bring my gliders in without an appointment and they will trim their nails without charging an office visit. Just the small fee for the nail trim. I have also been granted payment arrangements when necessary. They are always curtious, and even let me know when my Sugar gliders are due for their check up. There are only two vets in this town that I highly recommend and St. Francis is one of them. RID: 2820
Click to report rating    1/19/07   1     1     1     1   Very Expensive, show no empathy for a ill pet who is a family member. Provided close to no services, dog only had to stay over night until our Vet opened. They didn't even have to give her any meds and I paid almost $300 just for them to look at her. When I phoned throughout the night to check on her they often seemed annoyed with my calls. I highly recommend Dove Lewis. Dove Lewis is the best. RID: 2077
Click to report rating    1/11/07   1     3     2     1   Customer service awful, expensive. I found a dog and they were the closes vet clinic. I took the dog there since the local cline was closed (after hours) the excepted the dog and charged me a fee. I called animal control the next day to let them know it was there and that I left it there. Unknown to me I could have taken the dog to another after hours clinic and not been charged. They should let people know there options, they are obviously only out for money and not the publics interest. RID: 1903
Click to report rating    12/16/06   2     2     1     1   This is an emergency facility and there are different people working there often. Sometimes you can get the person who is considerate and works with you, but other times you will get a Vet or assistant who believe and act like they are better then you. Then they act rude to you because you have chosen to breed your dog or cat, or your animal is sick or injured. They are high priced and I have had them charge me a different fee for the same exact services on the same breed of dog that my family member (different last name) had gone there for, so be aware with them. Be sure you know exactly why they do what they do to your animal or will be giving your animal a medication. You may not understand so please continue to ask until it is written down. Be sure they do as they say they will when they give you a quote! RID: 1303
Click to report rating    10/31/06   3     5     1     1   State of the art facilities, overworked staff, will keep you waiting a long time, very expensive, quality of care very poor. Worked there once, would only go in if my pet were to die before I could get to the other emergency vet in clark county. RID: 395
