Been going to burgess for years now and now that I have a serious emergency with my senior dog(might be dying) they refuse to see him because they are "over booked" lady on the phone basically laughed at me as she said sorry about your luck. Never have I felt so disrespected by them and the fact that they cannot squeeze in a dying patient tells me they really don't care about peoples animals. Hope noone else has to go through this with them.

From my puppy’s first shots, through torn ligament surgery to her last days this clinic has shown me only kindness.I started off seeing Dr.Burgess who is wonderful and informative. Then I saw Dr.Chris,he helped me through my elderly dog’s illness with kindness and honesty, compassion and concern for myself and my family.Dr.Chris was patient with my weekly phone calls and visits, always returning my calls promptly. When the last day came I could see his sincerity,I will never forget his kindness,I felt as though we had battled this together. The Techs and front staff were great, they had given me ideas to entice my friend to eat and on her last day shared cute stories of her during visits with them in the hospital. I never felt like anyone was ever thinking of finances aside from saving me costs. When it came time to pick up my sweet friend’s ashes I was greeted by front staff, techs and Dr.Chris himself. This is the only clinic I would take my loved one to! My girl loved them all as well! Xoxo

I read great reviews about Burgess which is why I chose to take my cat to them when I moved to Cambridge. Apparently the good reviews were strictly in regards to Dr. Burgess himself. I was seen by Dr. Chris and will definitely not be back. He is sarcastic, makes you feel stupid for asking questions and acts as though he would rather be anywhere else. I was rushed out the door and was so uncomfortable in the environment. Even the front desk staff, incredibly monotone, almost robotic. I am sure the care they offer is good. However, if you are looking for a compassionate veterinarian who genuinely seems to care about your pet and their job, this is not the place for you. Kindness and compassion are the opposite of what I found here.

Didnt even get to meet the Doctor as his receptionist staff are inept and have no personable skills whatsoever. We tried to book a first visit on two seperate occasions and both times were given confirmation date/time. Upon arriving at their place of business, both times they did not have us or our dog in their systems. You think at this point, customer service in 2017 would take over and help control this irritable situation..............Think again. The response was rude, condencending and there was 0% sincerity in her tone/message delievered. We have now been with Beaverdale Veterinary for over 2 weeks and the service is friendly, consistent and you truly feel as if they value your business.

We saw Dr. Burgess twice and then were surprised when we started seeing other vets as his practice had expended. We have not had Dr. Burgess see our dog in more than 3 years! We have gotten the run of the mill in terms of vets: Dr. Chris seems annoyed when you ask him questions - he expects you to already know the answers. When my dog was in for surgery he added on another procedure I specifically told him I did not want - after complying that was removed form the bill. Dr. Sarah Moore diagnosed my god with epilepsy with the snap of a finger. Some basic tests were run, but it's been 10 months and I still have not received a call to bring my dog in for a liver enzyme test. I definitely do not think my dog is cared for by this vet team. She is simply $$$ to them. Dr. Terra Wakeford was their only saving grace and what kept me there: patient, knowledgeable, truly cared for your animal - but she's left Burgess. Service has done nothing but gone downhill!

I have bin going To Burgess for many years,I have bin very satisfied with the care and staff in-till this year .Burgess has expanded and now its so very hard to get apt and when you are there for the apt they take forever getting you checked in .They have only one person on in the evening witch makes it for a very long weight .I don't know how they think that expanding and still only have one on the front desk in the evenings .I Think its time to look for a new Vet

My wife and I have had Dr. Burgess as our vet for both of our dogs over the past 27 years. Dr. Burgess was a very compassionate, caring, attentive, and wonderful care giver to both of our small dogs Benji and Rusty. I would not consider taking my dogs anywhere else. His staff has always been considerate and attentive to my pet’s needs. We found that his services were always professionally executed at competitive rates. If you are looking for a veterinary clinic where your pet will receive the best of care, we strongly recommend taking your pet to Dr. Burgess.

Terrible!!!!who ever that girl is on desk is absolutely absent when talking or trying to answer simple questions to then find out she is actually a Vet technician just blows my mind! I was picking my dog up from surgery and I was asking important questions about how to look after him and she had the audacity to start txt messaging someone while talking to me! I do not accept that behaviors from my children why would I pay to be treated like that

Dr. Burgess , and staff are great , I am a first time dog owner and then my dog came down with an ear infection Dr. Waked ford really took the time to explained everything . Not having any idea how to apply my dogs medication they offered to help administer the medication everyday free of charge. The staff is friendly , helpful and know what they are talking about . So glad I was recommended to them.

I have been taking my pets to this clinic for years, and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. I recently adopted a puppy and thought I should take it to the vet that he had already seen to get the final shots. I was horribly dissapointed, and should have taken him to Burgess clinic. I have never had a bad experience here, and feel very confident that my animals are loved and cared for. There is generally a wait to get in, but certainly worth it, when you are in talking with the vet, you feel like you are the only one in the office for the remainder of the day. The vet takes time to talk to you and ensure all questions and concerns are addressed. I wish now that I had brought my new puppy here in the first place. He will be coming to Burgess from now on.

We have not been let down by Dr Burgess or his team. Each one of them have been compassionate, quick on their feet and extremely knowledgeable. When our cat was attacked by our neighbors dog we took him to an emergency vet that night to ensure no life threatening issues and then took him to Dr Burgess the next morning and wasn't even charged for the visit, only the medication. He did a superb job when we had our golden retriever neutered and then when we brought our adopted cat in for an emergency they repaired a burst bladder and saved his life. We have never been charged for unnecessary tests, meds or services and have even been told not to do certain things because it wasn't needed. Each of them are there for the right reason. And I feel safe and pleased to place my animals in their care.

We have been going to Burgess for several years. Dr Burgess is great, very caring but hard to get an appointment with. Dr Chris is very rushed and seems money hungry(orders expensive tests then gives you a bit of the guilt talk). He ordered meds for a condition my dog has had in the past. Usual meds (that worked great) were about $12...ordered new meds because they were "better" at almost 4X the price even though I said I was "on a tight budget" Lack of bedside manner and does not return phone calls. Even though you make an appt with Dr Burgess you may not see him when you get there. Very disappointing.

I was disappointed on my last visit, in the spring. The first two times I saw Dr. Burgess and he was awesome – informative, thorough, great with my dog. But on my third visit I was surprised to see a vet from another clinic who was “filling in.” She didn’t seem very knowledgeable, and her “annual checkup” consisted of listening to my dog’s heart – didn’t check his eyes, ears, gums, teeth, nothing. She kept me waiting for ages, then tried to rush me out. I feel mislead – the staff should at least have warned me I wouldn’t be seeing Dr. Burgess when I had specifically asked for him – and like I got poor value. And I’m concerned about whatever problems she missed with this superficial “annual checkup.” If I decide to give this practice another try, I’ll ask more questions when I make the appointment and phone for a final check before I leave home for the scheduled visit.

Dr Burgess saved our little Tinker, He had a broken jaw, Dr. Burgess took the time to talk to us about the operation. He did a wonderful job, his jaw is healing. I cannot thank the staff at the hospital for all the time and energy they spent on us from the time we cried to the happy trails. God Bless you Dr. Burgess and your wonderful staff, we love you all so much!!!

Dr. Burgess is compassionate; Dr. Chris tends to order expensive tests and rushes you out the door. Staff are pleasant but could be more professional when dealing with owners

I've been taking my pets to Dr.Burgess Clinic for about 6 years. For this last vistit I've started to notice a light decline in quality of service. The clinic fees increase $5 a year (making his fees average to most other clinics). I just don't see how his services are improving if anything Dr. Burgess is getting so busy he takes less time to look over the pets and answer my questions regarding their health.

Dr.Burgess first took care of our family dog when I was a kid and I can always remember him being so gentle and kind with her. He always started our visits by giving our dog a good scratch and baby-ing her because she was a big coward when it came to needles. When it came time for our dog to leave this world we didn't hesitate to bring her to Dr.Burgess because we knew he would be kind to her. Not only did he stay till she was gone, but allowed us to have a few minutes with her alone before we left. Dr.Burgess himself shed a few tears that day. A few years later when I got a cat I knew exactly the vet I needed to bring her to. He's still gentle, and kind. A true animal lover if there ever was one. Now that my new kitten needs to be fixed, I will be more then happy to introduce him to Dr.Burgess and his wonderful staff.

Though it breaks my heart, I brought in my 16yr Jack Russell to be put to sleep although are plan was to let him pass at home. Due to feeling that he was suffering in his last few hours I contacted the clinic and they arranged to have me come in immediately so that my dear friend wouldn't suffer any longer. The staff was great, caring and compassionate. Dr. Burges himself spoke in a really soft tone and explained the procedure but with a heavy heart. I felt that they truly felt some sorrow for my beautiful dog as well as myself who's heart was left broken.

We had a very sick golden retriever that we brought in to this hospital. Dr. Chris Stesco is an associate vet working with Dr. Burgess. His is a young team that seems to have genuine compassion for the animals and families they look after. We were very pleased with the attention and frank conversations we were able to have. We were also appreciative of Dr. Stesco's sensitivity to financial concerns and we would certainly recommend them to anyone.

My only concern is with Dr. Burgess and how he does not return messages from his patients, you must keep chasing after him, regarding medication, could be you have a question regarding your pet. He just doesn't take the time to return your phone call.
